Would it be possible to sow up a pet, run into chardok (with good faction) and park your pet by the herbalist (if up), and gate to zone, send pet to attack, and /pet back off to pull the herbalist to zone? or would that just aggro the entire place? =P

i did something similar when pulling the dark elf guildmaster for a rogue in neriak... the only issue is you have to be close enough to the mob for your pet to respond to the /pet attack command... that said, it is a much further distance than what gets you mob aggro (in case you did not know, you don't have to FD on a pet pull... just be far enough away)
so, in theory, you could move just close enough for /pet attack to work... then immediately begin running to zoneline and /backoff pet as soon as you see it taking damage... you should reach zoneline way before mob, as will your pet, and mob will be solo
to be extra safe, you could even FD as soon as you hit zoneline 'till the pet shows up
in theory... i've only done it in neriak, and my chardok faction is as bad as it gets so i can't test there :P
edit: since i assume you do not have pet hold, you will want to spam /backoff also

There is a quiet area for the Chardok B zone in right there. You can pet pull to it. I am repeating what others have said.. there was a thread discussing ways to pull him a while back.
I voted for the wreckless pull everything, snare/root the Herbalist, click the Chardok B switch, wait a breath and return. This is hard to do without getting killed.. =p
Pet pull is likely the smartest way to go.. but very much easier using the Chardok B "alcove" as your camp.

I was reading on this particular mob the other day and I had some misconceptions on my part...
I am currently at that point in my epic, but I am not moving on it very fast (been having more fun doing unrest and don missions) but i am up to lvl 69 so i should head back there and finish that part up...
I used to travel the hard way all the way down to the herbalist using invis and my ivu aa till i was just around the bend from the herbalist house. then i would try to clear the hall area first but i would always get too many adds and such and was just not successfull.
Your thought about doing what you want to do is not a bad concept as long as the pet can survive. you could try a green pet that is really buffed up and with mage summoned plate armour. You bind yourself at the zone in so that you can gate out after telling your pet to attack... the problem there is will your pet survive while you are gating.. it may not know.. or it may... where you are going but since you are gating inside the zone it will be instant...
orrrrrrr...
if I am not mistaken, from what I have read (i have not checked this out personally yet but i will be doing it soon) the shack is located real close to the charsuck b zone so why not just bind there and your green pet, or normal one, can bring it to you... or you just run over there whichever. Use your guard key to stop your pet in the place you want it to, then you can snare the herbalist and zone out.. assuming there are additional adds. zone back in and your snared herbalist should just be waiting there for you if still snared.
can you say vxed?

When you go thru the first fort in chardok and get to the first bridge you drop down to the slave area... kill out thru the passage out (I believe there is only one) and you will come to a T intersection. To the left brings you to the guard captain room where you take a left to go the long way round to the hut area's front door.
Alternately you can go right at this t intersection to the bridges (I think the monk epic mob that drops the pipe is around there but not positive) and drop off where the waterfall is.
That will bring you right to the chardok b switch, on one side of the waterfall or the other.. it is in a little alcove from which you can see to the left the back porch of the grand herbalist hut just past the treasury hall area.
I have never pet pulled it.. and have found that none of the treasury mobs see invis and only the wizened herb collector or the mob that drops the greenmist piece see invis. (Maybe Mak ha too but never tested that).
However, how I pulled Verina Tomb (sp?) in neriak for my enchanter's epic, I set the lowest level pet in front of the mob in the cleric guild, got away to max range I could say /pet attack and have it work. then ran to the zoneline where a lvl 70 pally was waiting.. he had already killed the wandering guard there. I got to the zoneline area and waited and sure enough here came Verina after she squished the little pet, all by her lonesome.
The pally made short work of her I camped as soon as he engaged and the chanter looted the corpse when she died so I didnt lose faction in Neriak for playing traitor. heh
Im wondering if with an eye of zomm to target in the hut whether the same trick should work.. you are not that far from the hut at chardok b switch but far enough to see if a train is heading your way so you can fd or click the trigger to chardok B.
BTW for any wanting a nice place to hunt high level undead chardok B has dk blue to a 62 undeads... non undeads too. Everytime I clicked into chardok b there were a mob or two nearby but apparently out of aggro range... so long as you dont go in much you should not get aggro.
Hope some of this is useful to folks.

Sarnath,
I'd be very interested to know if your proposed method of pet pulling will work. To the best of my knowledge when ever you gate or Levant you pet comes with you. I believe there is no range limit this (Kind of like zoning) but I can't remember gating into the same zone, or using levant when far away from my pet, or if my pet was ever left behind when I did. My guess is this wouldn't work, but if it does, there is a great pvp tactic to be exploited there! ;)

Levant brings your pet.. it's re-entering the zone (to clear aggro).
Gate in the same zone didn't the last time I knew bring your pet. My 7 year old daughter used to Gate to the newbie log and wait for her skellington to come running up.

Thanks Felicite,
Time to play a bit of cat and mouse, and bombard the friends that duel with me with pets! I know Kaner and friends won't be able to take any of them down, but it sure will annoy em! ;)

PS. It's nice to see a young girl following in her mommies foot steps! :)

Since I did that part a couple of weeks ago I can assure you it works. :D The 49 pet gets you the herbalist solo - the 61+ won't. Just pull the herbalist or the ph near the chardok b zi and root rot him. You can hover over the water and just watch him die. :) And have a nuke loaded as the ph did gate on me once!
Oh and I think the mobs that can see invis are random. I was able to run straight down without a single mob seeing me. But a chokidai down there did see me. So just run down without stopping and either FD or zone into Chardok B.
