So i've been thinking... i want a horse and a fast one but don't want to pay 100k... now i know i can get a horse from Seru .. but guild is past that and if we did i would have to blow alot of pts on it cause plenty will want it ...

Now i was thinking the Comms in Ssra drop a horse.. very rare right? and if so how rare ... and do i really want to waste my time?

as someone who has killed more comms then i care to mention and never seen a horse... i'd say your chances are slim

the fast horse is very nice, i had one... but with today's travel options, i ended up getting rid of it 'cause i didn't use it as much, and also because it can kind of be difficult in group settings... the 10k horse comes to a stop pretty quick, but the faster ones take a few seconds longer to stop once you get moving, even over a short distance

ideally, i'd buy both (and may again one day)... but it's pretty far down the list... i'll probably do run5 first

I think you can win the Drogmor equivalent of an Ornate Chain Bridle in the Casino.. might be a shorter camp.

regarding horses or dogmors (depends on your choice)
i know just 3 choices:

1. the 10 k (less with good CHA) for just sitting mana. which s sufficient from a necs point of view.
2. the 100k one, because you like bard speed and you got the plat to do so.
3. the one you looted in between.

and just to answer your question: YES, you are wasting time if thinking about these tools to much)

I always wanted the 100k one, and I finally have the plat after a few great days in wos selling drops in the baz, but I just can't bring myself to spend that kinda plat...

A little off topic, but that's a problem I've had more than once in the past, especially when plat was seeming like less of a renewable resource. There would be something I wanted, and I *finally* had enough to afford it, but I couldn't bring myself to spend that much on a single item.

i also have a L55 bard with a nice drum on a second account... so i can get around real fast if i have to :P

I agree with this.. I sell almost nothing anymore. And what I do is getting driven down by supply and demand. So. I decided to experiment with a mostly vendor money making scheme to see how I could do.

I would set the guild stone to the Twilight Sea (for 63p) and:

* Clear the Shadows island there. Generally always sell the Swirling Shadows in the Bazaar first night for 50p each.. generally get 15ish per clearing. Sell the other crap at the Castle (betcha I don't get 50p for everything else.. compulsive looter).

* Get over to the Vamp Castle, clear. I sell the General armor bits for 250p fairly quickly, the regular armor bits for 10-20p slowly, the Blood stuff is Lore and I have a suit so I kinda hope for gems, etc. Sometimes the no rec/req Katar drops.. this sells briskly for 4k which I treat as a bonus (and might be nodrop for you, not sure).

* Go to Outer Acrylia Caverns and burn greens. Loot just the Acrylia Runes (stackable). Some nights I loot the Acrylia Blocks which vendor for 31p each (so a bag is worth over 600p). And loot the weapons! The weapons sell for 143p each.

Once I am full I either Gate home for the night or I Levant to zone line, step out, Levant and I am in the trading output across the Grimling Forest. There is a merchant and a bank here. Sell, unload.. run back.

In a few hours I can generally make 3-5k from primarily vendor goods.

So.. if I was driving to get myself a Chain Bridle.. I could have one in a under a month (playing 2-4 hours a night) without relying on Bazaar sales.

Or, I could just farm Nobles` Causeway for a few nights for Runes.. if they sold.

Also I have learned that if I was smart, I would leave the Guild Stone set to Twilight and when my other selves are just relaxing in the Guild Hall they could pop over to Twlight every so often and make 500-1000p on Swirling Shadows.

not to shabby i remember when i used to farm the hell out of the vamp castle .. not to bad.. leave there with around 2k in items and if i were lucky a few thigns to sell in the bazzar the katar and the cloak from the guy on the top floor...

anymore if i work both jobs whichs makes me leave aroudn 10 and get home around 10 i'll leave trader on all day and make a few k in stuff... i'm sitting with about 70k in the bank .. sadly nothing i really want and don't want to spend 20+k for some runes that i need to get still :(..

thanks for the advice i might just go run around and farm some crap havn't done that in a while :) AC sounds fun and i need some stuff for trades :D

Yeah i stoped in the bazaar the other day to look up a few lessor runes sadly i'm still missing pushed for 70 and been in don so much for augs and what not.. that i'm missing lower spells :(...

anyway got in there and they were 20 - 23k for a damn 67 spell :(

Not on FV.. There is someone that cut the price of runes, just about 4 to 5k each type. That and he has a huge stock of them. :-(

for me to make some quick cash (for horse or whatever) I just set up forage bot in a DoN zone for a day or 2 while I'm working. Come back and sell silkworms and such for easy 10K.

I have been thinking of getting a horse for the mana regen.

One question? How fast is the 10k horse AND if I am faster than the horse (run5 or SoE or bard song) will the horse slow me down or will it match my speed?

Thanks much,
Elly

ps As I remember, there were stables in the bazaar to buy horses from. Is it just player bought now?

Yes you will only move as fast as your mount can when mounted. And there's a few sec to speed up to full speed and a few secs to slow down to a stop (unless you click the buff off).

You'd be much better off just farming the plat and buying the 100k horse.

As far as where / how to farm that kinda plat, that's a different thread.

If you have a decent tank one grouping seru is easy at level 70. Used to kill him with me
playing tank and a nuker, and friend playing his necro, wizard, cleric, cleric, mage, wizard, druid at level 65.

Grieg is also a mob doable with 1 or 2 groups. its a fun fight and he drops the 60% horse pretty commonly.

I have a gamepad set up to press F11 using the throttle. Put forage bot in a zone somewhere safe, and use hide ability.

set up in Options (ALT-O) -> Keyboard->Macros the F11 to also press the 8 button. Have a forage hotkey in slot 8 with the following
/doability 2 (forage)
/pause 2
/autoinv

make sure you have plenty of food and water in first slots, come back in 8 hours to check on food/water inventory space.
things to watch out for...
1. you can be BANNED for this, though most likely booted, or suspended for first offense
2. you can die for this, first time I did this I was bound outside Dulak zone line, I checked in the morning and had 6 corpses in Gunthak and 1 in DoN zone. all with rez timer expired.
3. you will get a bunch of useless crap that might sell for 1pp, just delete it unless you know some alchemist that will use.
4. know what sells good and keep those.
5. keep vegatables, water, and such for brewing if you ever wanted to do that....
