Feign Death

got this rumor, was wanting to know if any one can confirm it.

In order to alleviate the issue of needing to /q to really clear aggro in some situations, we've added a new mechanic to feign death. If you stay feigned for about two minutes, all NPCs will forget about you. There is no message to indicate it yet, but one should be going in with the next Test patch.


was wondering when the next patch is, everytime I go to the sony site it seems they are still stuck on last Oct patch info. How do others find out about some of these things?

I'd like to have to not fd twice to loose agro initially in TOSR and some ldons. I hope they fix that too.

NeSikWay what do you mean by /q ? Please forgive my "newbiness" :unsure:

My most recent exp with FD was unpleasant. The mob literally sat on top of me while I lay on the ground. It was quite funny after 3 minutes but not funny after 10. As soon as I got up he killed me (all of my group members were dead so no help there.) :(

/q is an instant command to quit the game. You don't have to sit, camp etc.. just /q and you are out. The problem is that if you do that in a mob infested area, you are just going to come back into the came and be attacked immediately. It is / was a good tactic however if you are in an area that is relatively safe like if you pulled the mob to a safe area and then had to FD /q. It is a good bet in 20 minutes he will be gone etc.

...I wonder -- does Verant remove your character from Norrath at the same time? or does your character remain active for a few seconds, even after your game screen technically quits. I bet it's the latter; i.e. you might quit the game instantly, but yet your char still lingers in Norrath for a while and could potentially die... dunno thou.

yeah /q is the equivilent to going LD, but if you FD'd when you /q then you aren't going to get killed unless FD failed, but then you wouldn't /q if you knew it failed anywys

The two minutes to remove all agro is JUST long enough for your pet to disappear...heh.

alot of peeps have used /q and wound up dead still in PoK or PoT, not to say it doesnt work, coz it works, but not all the time, like the previous post says its more like going LD, but how many times have you gone LD and wound up dead? It's bout the same ratio.. I usually FD, and if it fails you ll know it because it says "so and so has fallen to the ground" and you still get beat.. If u FD and it doesnt say anything, you will know you're safe. Failing fd sucks and depending on your hps/buffs that you have on, sometimes you dont live to see the second FD attempt, but I try to FD again if first one fails at any rate..

well, I read the changes they made, but only on castersrealm and I've not found it anywhere else. I know if you go LD you ahve to wait 2 minutes to get back into the game anyhow, so you might as well chat online. I also know that right now the 2 minutes doesn't work and I don't know when they are going to put this in place (i.e. what patch date) and was wondering if any one knew, and if anyone knew if it was offical, I don't always consider castersrealm an offical site unless I can cross reference it or show that what they say works.

Yeah the "2 minute rule" I don't think is in effect....

You drop into Castle Mistmoore and walk up the ramp, there is 3 doors (?) well there is a mob behind each one and they all opened. I ran down the ramp and FD'd and the rest of my group died.

F9 People!!!!


I never looked to see that all 3 were standing on top of me! No sooner had I stood up and laid down for good.
