View Full Version : EQ Pet peeves

Hi all,
Since this is the rants section I thought it would be a great place to get some of the things that just really bug me in game off my chest.
For instance Last night I was sitting in my guild hall doing some research combines for the guild bank when I get a tell..... "Hello there, would you happen to have any spare pp or items for a fellow necro just starting out?"
When the hell did people start begging across zone lines?!
And how come almost everytime I am about to click to enter my guild hall an ogre or Barbarian runs in front of me and starts humping the guild hall door?! "Thats a key hole... not a penis warmer tank you! <_<
These aren't the major things like the jerk who P-loots a nodrop or rare item then pretends it was an accident or /q's ... or the guild full of weasels who trains your raid becuase of a contested spawn, rather these are just the little pecadillos (sp?) that make life in eq similar to sitting behind some guy in the fast lane doing exactly the speed limit (or 2 mph...kph for our metric using friends).
I'm sure I could find more to go on, but I'm interested to see what get's everyone elses eyes rolling at the keyboard.

I got a bunch of pet peeves. I guess I am just naturally peeved =) or a jerk. Probably both.
1- People who mistakenly think they are funny and constantly spam in groupsay or guildsay. YO! You are NOT Johnny Carson. Shutup please. It's really sad when you have to put a guildmate on ignore.
2- Dewdspeak. In any shape or form. Kool is a cigarette! Not an adjective! 2 is a number! And the one that irritates me the most is ne. Is it really REALLY that much of a strain to type 3 letters instead of two?
3- People who have no concept of time. They ask to be incuded on a DoN mission, or a mini-raid I am doing and I tell them when I am starting it, which is usually at least 30 minutes beforehand. Then, they show up 30 minutes late and are pissed because I left without them, usually with some excuse such as, "But, I had to get buffs"
4- Lifelong Newbs. I like newbs, real newbs, and will help them and guide them whenever I can. But if you have been playing the game for a year and have to ask, "Where is Rivervale?" it becomes very irritating and makes me want to smack you.
5- Paladins who think they can pull better than my bard. You are a tank. Wait here and then beat on the mob when I bring it back to you pre-slowed, pre-malo'd and pre-snared and usually mez park it right in front of your face.
6- Tanks who want to join a kite group and keep insisting that we need to get a slower and a healer so he can tank. Sorry guy, this is a kite group. Just be a good boy and chase the mob around in circles like old Jabober is doing.
7- People who insist on talking to you in tells and expect an answer when I am kiting. It's not so bad with the necro, but when I am on the bard they usually get some reply like, "afsadjk". Some are really clueless to that response and so reply with "?"

I would like to give you a hearty "Amen!" to this. I mean.. they already added themselves to your pefectly functional group and added less DPS than a single DoT.. now they want to add two support classes, too.
I find Creators easier with just Warspite and me than a full group. I leave the kids in the Guild Hall for free crystals. They go faster and less accidents.
Sure.. there are things that require a tank.. I love them. But, sometimes I would rather relax.
**
Actually.. I have to agree on everything you said. Speaking in sentences has been a requirement for every Guild I have been involved in (even before FV.. much easier on FV).
I know I pull alright.. but a skilled bard pulling is http://www.obsessionmatrix.com/emot-drool.gif

I'll never see any high end content... New fooking zones every patch. Can you link the quest to get this key or flag?

1) People who send me random tells at the most incovenient times asking me if I want to sacrifice their character for pp.
2) People who show up in my camp while I am being very anti-social and soloing, and ask if they can join my group.
3) Those people who can't resist looting every single corpse in a pickup group, even if it drops something they can't use.
4) People who insist HP augs are melee only just to default the aug to themselves.
5) MacroQuesters, even if they only use it to see where everything is on the map in game, its still cheating.
6) Halfing Druids.

I spend alot of time looking things up so that I'm not entirely clueless when I play. Be an asset and not a total dependent. I always deck out little gnomes I find in ak'anon with cheap vendorables or whatever I have in trader sachels that they can use, but if you're 60 and don't know which stone takes you to feerrott...
There are two kinds of tanks. The first kind are light hearted and enjoy whatever in the game, and may even jokingly remark that yes now I have two pets (one just talks more hehe). Then there are the kinds that absolutely hate chasing mobs to whack at them while they are intent on me. Slower or clr goes afk on creator and 2x xp is burning, ima go kite sumthin. If they come back I can fd and let you eat agro. You don't want to chase the mob then don't chase it, I'll kill it myself. But don't expect to get 30 kills sitting there watching and/or complaining.
Others:
1 - non clr's asking (or demanding) twitch except in special cases
2 - ppl who think hp/sta augs should go to melee, die bastages
3 - tanks that sit there and spin around in circles for a few seconds before engaging a mob that's agroed a slower/clr/caster, where the hell do you think it went?
4 - beggers
5 - player casino operations and the spam they generate
6 - the 150 range black hole entrance to the gl that sucks you in if you get too close

1. Being asked the same questions by the same people repeatedly(hi, how ya doing? is ok though).
2. Repeatedly whiping to content that isn't really all that hard because people can't pay attention.
3. Clerics that nuke on raids..and later ask for mana.
4. People sending me tells 15x during raid times, repeatedly asking me "are you there?"
5. Having 6 channels to join on every raid.
6. Beggers..of any kind.
7. People in arena, that attack you and then complain after you kill them.
8. ANYONE in the arena that complains when they die(a bit less annoying then #7)
9. The revamping of old zones that I loved..IE VP, they need to INSTANCE revamps and leave the old zones.
10. How noone ever does LDON anymore(I like to mess around).
11. People asking to join "my group" in droga/veksar/sebilis/Cazic Thule, when I'm the only one in zone(htf can that be a group?!)
12. Being asked if I have the words for the level 24 necro pet(sure did 4 years ago)
13. Telling a level 70 cleric/warrior where we are in a zone(so he can join our group) and them consistently not knowing how to get there.
14. People who insist on being group leader but have ZERO leader aa.
15. Ogres without shrink devices.
16. people that afk at zone/port-ins
17. People that wait until "inc/charge" to ask for dmf.
18. AFK people in groups(this ain't a free ride, do your part).
19. The stupid fook 200 ft away that over pulls and runs to you for help...HI DIE PLS
20. People who don't answer camp checks
21. People who do camp checks and show up to your camp anyway.
22. People that argue that camps don't exist (you're screaming "train me")
23. People who like to define camps for other people, IE you can't kill ODI, Discordling and Miseryfiend(why thanks for the advice, I'll keep that in mind while I pull that and more)
24. People who are forming a group at a spawn for 90mins and calling it camped, while not killing a single mob the whole time.
25. Key Quests, after 5 years..just give me a single big mob to kill and access pls.

People who constantally shout or ooc their wares in the bazaar... HELLO your in the bazaar people can run a search and find you I dont need to listen to you list every item in your trader satchels none of which are even the cheapest at the moment. Maybe try the /auc command if you insist on being vocal.
The same people who use PoK as a 2ndary bazaar spam spot.
The fuck heads that have a macro set up to work their spell skills so are constantaly casting spells to cap the skill. Why do these pricks always have to do it in heavily populated areas. Grats asshole your adding lag to an are with a heavy concentration of peps already. Not to mention the spam you have to deal with if you have pc spells turned on. (yes, i do know to the previous 3 comments i can filter that shit off but why should i have to i'm not the inconsiderate prick spamming shit)
People who ask for help with something but dont know exactally what needs done.
People who ask for help but contribute nothing to reaching the goal other than getting me to come.
People looking to group or get help and asking you to come asap, then make you wait half an hour.
People who plvl alts, twinks, friends at a camp any of my alts can grind solo at. (IE mobs green to plvler but plvlee is same lvl as me)
People who dont do a camp check they just wander in and start killing shit.
People who dont answer me when I do a camp check... come on dickhead if I didnt care I wouldnt ask. I wander into someones shit because they couldnt be bothered to ooc, shout, tell me what they were at i'm not going to feel guilty about killing their named. (ohh ya and good luck attempting to ks me which 9 out of 10 times they do if it is a named)
Higher lvls that believe because they 70 they can do whatever they want because they are gods. They have no respect for anyone else.
People who cant listen to simple directions. Sit, stay... if I wanted your help pulling i'd ask for it. Instead these individuals usually agro shit and instead of taking a death like a man they bring it back to the group killing at least 1 person in the process (which is never them).
People who plvl alts w/o bothering to keep their skills up. Grats you are a lvl 65 tank with a defensive skill of 30 and tho you may have some incredible armor you are a paper tank. Or offensively work 1 weapon skill and see a great weapon of a different skill at later lvls and decide to take it. Grats your dps just went to shit for the next couple of weeks.
People who ask what lvl/class you are when your not anon.
Aggressive ignorance. You dont know and want to ask advice thats cool i'm happy to help. If you dont know wtf your talking about dont step up with your misinformation because you wont be so arrogant for long.
People who dont know shit about a class but tell you how to play it.
People who go afk during grind session for extended periods of time w/o saying anything. Dont mind grouping with you bud but if your not going to contribute your not going to sponge either.
People who complain their class is broken and that they can never get a group. Wake up call time. Learn to play your class, take some pride in your play skill with the class and i'll bet people will remember your name and want to group with you. Or christ if you know how to play your char and cant find a group go solo every class can do it to mid 50's now days without to much trouble.
To summarize shit that gets under my skin: People who are not me!
One that that always gets a chuckle out of me tho is seeing any necro shout or ooc LFG.

1.One of the thing that bothers me is when you grp with the occassional uber and all they do is link their gear the whole time. Then inevitably every other sentence deals with how uber they are.
2. People who permacamp spots like the cubbyhole so they can sell the loot on ige.com or wherever.
3. Guilds dying for no particular reason other than EQ2 and WoW
4. The lack of guilds that are somewhere inbetween uber and terrible
5. Helping tons of people with their epics and other quests and then when you need help no one ever seems to be willing to come and help you.
6. Ldon being made irrelevant for the most part, except for a very few key spells and items that are really important to get. This makes geeting them a pain in the ass.
7. Being invited to a DoN and then waiting 50-60 minutes for some asshat to show up b/c he wanted a buff in pok
8. People who insist that a cleric is necessary in a kite group
9. People that do not understand that more dps means that you have to heal a lot less
10. Ench that have FT15, but have absolutely no hps. After some point I would think that they would realize that they are going to get hit a lot so please get some hps. Now I realize hps and FT needs to be balanced, but damn.
11. Necros that tell me that necs can't solo past 50
12. How it always seems like there are either 5 war and cleric lfg or none at all.
13. People who bombard you with tells to join their grp when you have politely told them no thanks several times
14. The random (albeit infrequent) tells you get from raids asking you to join them b/c they need someone to pump the cleric. Wow that really pisses me off

God you sound a lot like me.. on all of these.
I would add to these first three I quoted: People who ask you to do research combines, take forever to show up and then "hope" you have "some" of the Words.
Anyone doing chronic, extended ninja AFKs in a group deserves to tank a few.. or have the group move while they are afk. I mean with "Spell Awareness".. I know you are doing nothing, or are doing what you are doing very slowly. Most of the time I am happy with pickup people that don't get me killed, but constantly slacking for no reason will insure no reinvite, ever.

Great point. Enchanter is a get hit kind of class. Surviviablity should be the root oh your gear/AA. Get avoidance, get your insta-Rune, get HPs (resist all pts =p). Get Quick Buff so your 1950pt self Rune casts in 2.5 seconds instead of 5 seconds (you can Rune tank a long time on slowed mob with that).
In Tipt my Enchanter was pulling with Slow, and the Warrior was taking over from me (in a perfect pull before my Rune failed.. but.. how many pulls in a multihour mission are perfect?). This worked really well, actually. No deaths directly from this, and the early slow made healing the Warrior easier.
**
I loved your Guild points.. very, very true on my server. Most ironic goes to "Blades of Marr" that formed under the banner "your guild gone? we aren't going anywhere" and proceeded to burn through PoP Progression.. but sometime in the EPs.. they all quit and moved to EQ2.
Necros can't really solo to 70 comes up now and then.. which is pretty darn amusing.. but some people seem to believe it anyway.
Edit: I not only leveled myself to 70, I drug my ENC and CLR there (largely.. some with groups, much of it in Vxed, Nobles, Unrest kiting with one of them).

ppl who assist prior to assist calls on raids on non-trivial mobs
anyone who says "you're a necro, you can't do that" or while im in group says "anybody know a puller class?"

~ The other night I was doodling along soloing in Vxed (never really had done anything with GOD so in light of the excellent guides some of you posted I wanted to check it out) when I get a tell "Want WOS group?" *pause* "You'd be our sixth"
/sigh
"sure," says Veratu......
/accept group invite and gate to guild Lobby, use guild porter to WOS....
40 minutes later after repeated /group cleric, tank ETA? These two show up.
Cleric says, "sorry it took us so long, we needed buffs.
~ A young Necro /ooc's in POK if anyone has any gear he can have or buy cheap... (You see he's just starting out ;) )
I'm feeling generous so I offer him a choice of robe of Ishva or robe of concussion, some Kobald hide boots, and a blackened alloy medallion..

Cap'n,
The guild Hall lobby was included in the DON expansion. Each guild has an instanced guild hall that they can access by clicking on a door in the Guild Hall Lobby which is located by druid port in in POK. Once inside you're guild hall you have access to a shared guild bank, Tradeskill apparatus (Kiln, Loom, brewing barrel, etc.., a bird bath for attaching and removing augs (like in the Ldon camps, a regular bank to access your personal goodies, a couple of merchants (one of which sells port stones that can be used to activate a portal to transport you to a variety of zones, and a jacuzzi (which offers increased mana and health regen). While in your guild hall all the timers on your buffs come to a stop (except for the veteran aa buffs).
Oh, and you can invite players into your group from across zone lines using a /invite <player's name> command.
Veratu
Oh, and there is also a guild tribute npc in there too!

1. the SAME person sending me (or any of my alts) random tells at least once a week. "Excuse me, would yo be interested in joining our guild?" (ie. on Tribunal:: Passionkitty)
2. soloing for 6% AA in NC with LFG up, getting a tell asking if I want BoT group. Groups can kill faster and this is a MMORPG. I show up after finishing kite, and end up waiting 20 minutes for rest of group to assemble. First pull (*shocking*) ranger dies on a 2 pull, and gnome tank can't hold aggro for shit.
3. loosing guilds to WoW and EQ2 sucked ass. Trying to replace that guild sucks even more. Either they are family guilds with 10 people online tops, or araiding guild that is 4 nights a week and you cna't be on unless in raid.
4. LDoN and DoN spells, fine make it so if you invest the time you can get the spells/gear for free (you already got exp). But there should be a way to bypass this. Let me buy Horror for 2K from vendor.
5. Needing 3 people to get LDoN/DoN/OoW missions, but GoD instanced zones are singles. /boggle
6. People that ask for help killing an epic MoB without even checking to see if it was up (BST epics, where scouts are easy to check for).
7. New managers at work that have no clue what a programmer does all day, and questions everything you do. Same manager that thinks naming conventions in your application, is the same as naming conventions for your cables in the datacenter.
8. People that confuse real life with EverQuest
9. People that need to shout DING for every AA and level. Great you dinged your 253 AA, you gonna keep doing this every 40 minutes? Don't get me wrong, grats adn all, but lets stick to celebrating milestones.
10. long lists of pet peeves......
11. people that ask for gear help for level xx, but don't post magelo or anything else to help.

It's the ones that single out a guild, and ask every one of them who's online for free gear... they're the priceless ones. I mean... ctfo, a new person to EverQuest, who's probably never even heard of the guild other than seeing a guild tag above some people's heads, is going to ask every online member of that guild for free gear. Inevitably, someone in guildchat says something about it, and then like 5 or more other people pipe up saying they were asked too, by the same person. In any case, I think I'll hit up Nektulos and farm a complete set of cloth for the next "new" player (alt, heh) that asks me for free gear.
Another one I like is when you get tells from someone who's /anon, asking for strats on how to kill some raid target. Quick search shows them in no raiding guilds on your server, so the logical conclusion suggests someone from a different server who wishes to hide their identity. After you essentially flush them, indicating that you'll give them no strats to allieviate their need to actually figure out an encounter, you mention something about it in guild chat. Sure enough, within a little while, they start asking other people within the guild... like we don't put out a virtual APB on these types of people within guildchat. The way I see it- the true reward in beating an event is learning how to do it, not the loot that drops from it. It's really quite sad when you're dealing with someone in tells who's litterally begging you for strategies on how to pass an encounter... If you can't learn it yourself, and have to resort on begging another guild on a different server for help, the victory is empty since you didn't learn a thing from it.

In no particlar order -
- People who suck at playing their class. Pre 50s, I understand and it takes time to get the hang of things; but at 65-70 you should know your role in a group setting atleast. Like grouping with a monk that refuses to pull
- People spamming PING! every 30 mins in guild chat, I dont mind if its every 25-50 or so but come on..
- Running out of bonechips :D
- The 'you are hungry. you are thirsty' messages after you die
- old pixelated annoying noisy spectre pet

- People who suck at playing their class. Pre 50s, I understand and it takes time to get the hang of things; but at 65-70 you should know your role in a group setting atleast. Like grouping with a monk that refuses to pull[/quote]
Reminds me of a level 68 (maybe 69 now) necro I grouped with on a Creator the other night... Ald knows who I'm talking about. Had the Mind Wrack part down np. Never snared or dotted once tho, but sure as hell liked chaining Acikin. If you're going to play like a mage or a wizard... reroll please so I don't die of laughter... not to mention make comments to an officer of their guild (who happens to be a friend of mine).

Yeah that's annoying too, in fact I'd think you were doing that just to piss me off
And that particular necro is lucky I can't /guild remove people :D I haven't really grouped with that necro much, but I haven't heard anything good about him/her either. Not like we don't have enough necros in my guild..yeah Xelg knows what im talking about

I was just playing, and you know it. ^_^
But yeah, your management needs to realize that an NPC only has 50 slots in it's buff array... That night you told me to look up how many necros were online in your guild, and I saw 11... that's going to lead to problems.
Speaking of your guild: Offtopic, but why exactly was one of your Shadowknights on my guild's late night Time run last night? Seeing as your guild actively raids Time, that's going to do nothing but screw him next time your guild's lockouts are up and you raid Time again. To make matters worse for him, loot went in the order of mains, alts, apps, guests. So he both received nothing (as nothing got down the line far enough to hit guests) and did nothing other than screw himself out of attending the next guild raid.

Lots of good things here ...
1-- Uber guilds thinking they are above warning people when they run through a zone on raid and training 1/2 the zone...
2-- E bay farmers .... (7-11 is hiring)
3-- "Can you PL me?"
4-- "Can you guys help me with this epic mob/quest ?" then when you arrive, they ask you how to do it ??

2.People who treat the necro ghetto rez like a cleric,as in NOT offering to PAY for that rez they had just gotten.EEs are not free ya know
3.Server estimated downtimes (yeah right, like they will ONLY be down for 5 hours)
4.The same spectre model for 6 years.

7.when you are grouped with another necro and see they are using spells like splurt on a mob that wont even last 10 ticks.

mid kite in OT by SF ramp i get a tell ..
"when you come back up this way can u haste me?"
i kind of stoped in my kite and staired at that for a min thinking is this guy for real.. cant he see the mob is being followed by a skelly not a damn sheild and sword. so i just reply " thats gon to be a little hard since i am a necro "
he comes back o my bad thought u were a ench..
now at this point i am thinking to myself tihs guy is a tank and hes working on lvs and at about lv 35 ish still cant tell the classes apart..
god help anyone around him when he makes 70 if he does.
but so far as a necro my fav things are the random can i join u..
the people who over argo me on pulls befor the dots get set so i hold the kite and then yell for help.
love the wars who ask if they can join not sure how a war can kite.. (rogues = great kite partners )
the shammy who would leach kills and only sow me thinking that would = the exp i was feeding him
people invading my kite area *not like i am taking a hole damn zone wall shit move down Ot's a big zone*
thats about it so far, i am sure il see or hear more intresting events as i lv god i cant wait :P

Here's one I forgot to mention before.... but ran into again recently....
It really bothers me when I'm MWing to keep mana to the casters and healers to see my cleric standing up and playing "wack a mole" on the mobs we're fighting... only to have them ask me for a twitch despite the fact that I've been pumping from 300 to 600 mana per mob into them.
I usually reply in tells "No, and if you don't sit your ass down between heals I won't MW anymore either!" I usually only have to say this once. ;)

Aaaah the good old rant forum:
Guild leaders putting me with the clerics because the fights going to last 6 mins and they have 9 clerics in a PL chain. (I fixed this one myself by posting a parse of my dps on the mob when we killed him in 6 mins)
"Have you anything i could use im new" grrr as xis says i normally run through nek a lot now heading to DoN so if i see a noob sitting on the log Ill buff and if i happen to have anything on me they'll get it. A high level guy gave my level 3 sk a dark reaver once and i always try to keep the feeling going.
Druids who insist on healing me. Sure if im at 13% throw one in but i can heal meself when im kiting.
Guildmates who insist on "joining" the creator mission when i expressly asked for ppl going afk. I dont want you here you give me something else to worry about that I dont need. /polite FK OFF!!!

RAWR.
KEI (or better) is the same.. sitting or standing.
Yaulp VII
Slot Description
1: Increase ATK by 80
6: Increase Mana by 14 per tick
8: Increase DEX by 100
9: Increase Attack Speed by 30%
0.5 second cast... 10 mana. Don't see where you have to have to stand for this to work.. just stand to cast it.
Sitting gets you.. hrm.. 25/tick from Meditate?
Sit or stand or ride your Droggie.. if you are doing your job, I love you. If you are nuking.. then want my mana.. well, we all agree on that point.

In a grouping situation; if someone starts asking for mana, I just go afk and get some coffee. Their ass was made to be sat on, not talking out of about how great of a cleric they think they are.
On a raid, that's different... clerics (and sometimes druids) will get if they ask. However, if we're in a downtime situation and I catch them running around (not even Yaulping to make up for some of the benefit of sitting mana regen)... I'm nice and politely point that fact out in one of the raid channels (where there's several witnesses). The difference between standing and sitting is 19 mana/tick. If not fighting, take advantage of the extra 5 over Yaulping and sit yo ass down.

-I didn't want to catch any STDs.
-I didn't have a can of Ether to spray her down with (Ether kills just about any disease). [That one didn't go over too well... wonder why ;)]

I've always had a particularly deep and dark (and mostly unexplained) hatred for people who ask me for things assuming I am another class.... I mean, how fricking hard is it to ask me what class I am first?
Ask me if I'm a mage, don't open with 'can you make me some pet toys?'
Ask me if I am a cleric before asking me for virtue.
Ask me if I am a wizard before asking me for a port.
And for fucks sakes, open your eyes and once you see I am an erudite/skelly don't ask me for SoW (I've been asked in both forms).
Don't ask me for heals, period. It'll get you nowhere... well maybe I'd ease this one up because of orbs now, but still.
My most pathetic story is the time I did a LDoN with a group. I had pet up, and frequently mindwracked and group tapped. I was liched the whole time. After LDoN is over, dumbo turns to me and asks for a port out. While I'm still liched. DUH!!!

1. Ebay's and Plat buyers
2. L70 Necros that don't know where or what RSS or even Riftseekers is, what the OOW pet is, is it good? what augs i should buy... uh.. what else Feli.. (I ranted about this in our guild channel as it just pissed me off for 'some' reason..) then proceeds to tell me how weak necros seem compared to his 'uber' shammy on 'another' server blah blah blah.. gag.. welcome to ignore chump.
3. Lvl 65+ Necros that LFG in the guild hall for 3 hours spamming guild chat with whines about how hard it is to find a group all the time! OMG.. I left the guild that they were in as the majority of them seemed to act this way. Uh solo class anyone?
4. Necros that gain all their levels by the aformentioned methods of sponging in groups for the entirety of their EQ life, then wonder why their uber ebay'd gear won't save them on a simple.. easy kite.
5. The pingers, the linkers and the afk'rs.. oh yeah plenty of them.
6. Bards that give me class advice on how to play. When they couldn't hold aggro with duct tape. Hi I'm FD'ng every cast.. for a reason.
7. The group inviters when I'm kiting.. the invites for a group in PoV when i'm kiting Vxed. Sure thing sunshine be right there so you can sit on your mount and sponge while I get xp for you. No thanks.
8. 'Roleplayers' that spam ' He kisses her softly' blah blah blah ad nauseaum when i'm in trader mode trying to mind my own business and look up shit. Hi.. Shakespeare theater is in the copper hall.. this is platinum STFU.
9. Ubers that train through my kite path on their way to RaidKill0002312231 then 10 seconds after their 'herd' runs over my FD'd ass... shout Train! sorry! ...
10. Shaman that ask me for twitches.. ever.
11. Mages and their pet toy black market.. no we don't need them.. I just like them. But 20-30pp each? for some mana? Nah... Note: Persistant Minion has put a dent in my pet toy budget.. yay for the same pet 3 weeks straight :)
12. Classes that invite me to a group without a cleric ie. druid healer.. then 'expect' me to rez the whole group when they inevitably overpull and wipe. Sure.. thing. Bring some EE's and I'll be glad to do it. No I don't have any on me. Why? because I'm broke because the last slack ass pick up group I was in used them all up.

Clerics that nuke....

Wow, someone had a bad day...posting guild business on a public board is usually frowned upon. I hope they don't take notice and use that against you as well. As my father told me growing up "it's ok to disagree with me, even if your wrong". That's about the mentality of alot of officers in EQ. Luckily for me, my dad was joking, unfortunetly for you...the officers there probably aren't.
Most guilds do a FMs > recruits > alts or FMs > alts of FMs > recruits for loot distribution.
Time keys aren't really a big deal, I think around 9 can drop each clearing so if you didn't get one this time, you're probably gonna in 4.6 days. In the mean time, you could backflag the gods too, with some lucky spawns/timing.

2. Level 70 warriors that call for the necros to "only feed clerics as this fight might last 5 mins"...
3. Level 70 warriors who think that warrior dps > necro
4. level 70 warriors who think that mage dps > necro
5. Level 70 cleric who agrees over point 3.
6. Level 70 cleric who's first mana warning is "oom feed me now feed me omg why havent i got full mana again"
7. being the only necro on a raid and having 10 clerics yell for mana (GoM aa sems to be easing this one slightly)
8. Level 70 warriors who think warrior dps > rogue (I know but i think this is so funny its worth mentioning twice).
9. Level 70 warrior who tells the monk that grabbed aggro on MT death and is voiding to stop attacking and fd which promptly kills 1 wizard knocks 50% off the necro (<3 fd) kils 3 clerics 2 mages and a bard before he gets aggro.
10. level 70 warrior who thinks his dps > rogue (ok ok ok ill shut up!)
PS to follow Jeb. Ill quote the late Brian Clough (the greatest manager Derby County have ever had and the best manager never to manage England). When asked what he did when players suggested different ways of doing things he said:

I do`nt really think of myself as a newbie having been arround for a while but one of the things that irritates is the use of things like ec when to me ec means East Commonlands not Echo Caverns. Some like PoK are Ok but when I have my Druid on and people ask for a port I just may be able to oblige them if I knew where the damned place was!
As to begging well it takes all sorts and I actually came across one character in a newbie area who I gave a lot of of my old armour to and later saw her swanning around "naked" again so obviously she had either sold it or banked it! That just about finished my helping newbie`s
Perhaps it is just the places I hunt but I do`nt see much begging now....

That's why I keep a complete set of cloth, painstakingly farmed from Nektulos Forest, in the shared bank, for "new players" that happen to be smart enough to /who all 70 (class) and pester them for gear. "You want gear? Here."
On that note, another one I liked was in the bazaar a couple weeks ago... Ran by someone, and like 2 seconds later got a paragraph tell essentially asking for free gear. Um... hotkey, hi. Even funnier is the fact that I saw them ooc to buy 1000 radiant crystals not 2 minutes prior. Oddly enough, they shut up after I pointed out that little fact to them.

I had the opposite for the first time in aages. Much like you guys the /tells from a_random_begger_01 tend to make u ignore stuff from anyone not on my friends list till saturday.
I use return home (as i camped in txevu and didnt really fancy logging straight back in) and am running through neriak when i see a /tell "scuse me but how the hell do i get out of here?" /who and find a level 10 necro in gloomingdeep armour etc.
(PS neriak aint the simplest of zones to figure). Run over and lead em out (dmf spirit armour etc) and drop them a few bonechips (well 5 stacks but flesh to bone I can afford to be generous) and get "wow thanks a lot". Think no more of it till couple of hours later im dossing in PoK and a muramite rune appears in trade. Guy is the main of the dude i twinked "you helped me out and I dont need this so have it!"
I couldnt believe it!

Ya those are easily the most resistant of the frogs in PoS. I usually gave myself ALOT of leeway on those, and never backed up to a minimum distance until it was darknessed. I think the typhoon loroks were 2nd..albeit a distant 2nd.

I avoid Neriak as much as possible and when I do go there I tend to stay in the Foreign Quarter. I used to think Freeport was bad but to me Neriak is totally confusing.
One of my fondest memories of the game is of several years ago sitting outside Kaladim medding my level 7 druid when someone came up and gave me a pair of gloves with a good INT stat and worth 100pp. That was in the days when banded armour was the "thing" and cost 5 pp per AC. I think helping newbies is good for the game it is just the few a**holes that spoil it.

I have a DE sk alt. When I rolled him I would routinely attack npc's to get ported to nektulos forest rather than run around the maze to get out. Too many zones and too much running. Course now that he's above level 10 I just avoide my home city.

My very first toon in EQ was an Erudite Necro... I didn't have maps... no real knowledge of the game other than from the old tutorial... no idea about teleporter pads or anything really. Couldn't get out of Paineel for the life of me. Finally got killed and ended up at the newb area... and couldn't figure out how to get back into Paineel.
So I rolled a Wood Elf Ranger instead.
And that my friends is how wood elf rangers and druids are born.

As a casual player, usually up to two hours at a session, and being on European time I find myself mostly solo`ing. So!, a class that solo`s well is necessary for me.
I did not know anything about the necro because the guild I was in when I first started did not allow "evil" classes. I was really surprised when I found that a necro was much like my druid and I was back to "kiting" again :D
I have to admit though one of my pet peeves is actually fear kiting. After thirty odd levels of aggro kiting with a druid my thought is that fear kiting really sucks!
I guess that is going to upset a lot of people :( but I got myself killed rapidly twice in DSP yesterday with it with add ons. Ah well no doubt there are places where fear kiting is not appropriate or I am doing it wrong AGAIN!
BTW I tried an Erudite necro first and did finally manage to get out of Paineel the same way. But I did not roll a Wood Elf ranger I tried a Human necro  only later ending up with a DE!.

Two points here...
First, don't ever compare necros to druids again, I will skin you alive, You're lucky Usul didn't catch wind of this yet, he would have threatened worse... Necros are so much more powerful damage wise it's ridiculous. I once raced against a very proficient druid and I killed twice as many in the same time frame and I still finished with full mana. The only thing druids have that is better than anything in our arsenal is a 14 minute snare as opposed to our 2 minute snare, it helps them use kiting as a method of CC on raids with summoners because it doesn't do any damage, but that is about their only advantage.
Second, fear kiting is not viable in some zones. Pathing can be an issue as well as adds. DSP is not the ideal place to do this. You'll probably have a better chance to use fear kiting in a zone that's not so full of surprises such as OT or DL. The best way to do it is to pull a mob to the zone wall and fear it up and down the wall.

the overthere is a good spot to learn w/o adds... just stand up by the frontier mountain zoneline and pull mobs up into the long path before the zone with snare then fear... if you pull past the second tree they will actually path back towards the FM zone

Actually it was on Vazaelle server and it was a role playing guild! My first guild and as well as no "evil" characters a friend of mine who had helped me a lot when I was starting up was thrown out of the guild for going "anonymous" instead of "roleplaying" when she got fed up of people pestering her for ports and refusing to apologise.
That particular guild is no more but recent posts I have seen on here about guild business brings it all back in a way and coloured my thinking about guilds ever since :(
I knew my remark about fear kiting would cause upset  but that was not my intention :) Also I have no intention of starting a class war. I am still sruggling to come to terms with being KOS in so many places amongst other things in finding how best to play my necro. It would be nice to have a forum on here to cover the necro`s roll in grouping at different levels as while I am quite prepared to get killed and even lose a level (sigh!) learning while solo`ing I am not quite so keen to do the same in a group.

I was also in POFire a wahile back. Some uber druid comes in with his 5 bots adn starts kiting. WHile im kiting. I send him a tell " dont mean to be rude, but i was here first'
he responds with ' oh sorry, id invite ya but groups full.'
Then i ask him to leave adn he says its his camp, adn then tries to train me ( dumb ass) and gets himself killed. i then get a bunch of tells from his bots saying im a Camp stealer adn im gona get banned. So i continue kiting and he comes back. by this time tis a few am's in teh mornign and im ready top go to bed, i would ahve given him the camp if he ahd asked, but no. so i tell someone else in his guild and ask for the druid CLs name. then i sent a really nasty message to her. Turns out the guy ahd been doing this alot the past few weeks adn was already on probation for Camp stealing.

The warrior twitch thing that my guildie Oloz is referring to happened when I was on my very first raid with the guild I had recently apped to (Haunted Dreams on Drinal). I was grouped with the raid leader (RL also happened to be Guild Leader) and one of our warriors. I would later learn that our GL and the warrior are VERY good friends.
Anyway....I was paying really close attention to everything and trying to put my best foot forward, so to speak. After clearing P3 in PoTime, we had a bit of down time due to a few rezzes, 1 rez being the warrior in our group. Now...remember kids, I'm a noob to these people and vice versa.

What is the difference between kiting the Hive or kiting the Nest and Fire? I do all three regularly and it's the same boring thing. Snare dot run. Sure there is a learning period for all new spots where you get used to the area and make sure you are being efficient, but it isn't like the tactics change, only the scenery.

The difference isn't the tactics, but how hard the mobs hit and how fast they run. In Fire, they are snails when snared and hit for less than 900, even less in the case of people in Jeb's gear.

Sure the potential risk is greater in the Nest or other places you might go to get AAXP, but after you spend your first learning period in a new zone you aren't going to be getting hit much. In this regard it becomes essentially the same. Whether you are in the Hive, Nest, Fire etc. you really just end up chain pulling mobs to kite around back and forth. Fire is a little bit less exp than some of the more risky zones, but the mobs do drop faster, so the exp is at the very least comperable (will depend on the necro).
I don't condemn Jeb's use of the word 'slumming' to describe PoF at all. If it feels completely dull to him I can't blame him (I can't stand Fire much but mainly because of the Rubberheads that are constantly in the zone). I just found it amusing that PoF has been delegated as 'slumming' after I spent so much of my young Necro days hearing about what a great Paradise it will be for me (topless women serving me grapes as I kited etc.).

You answered your own question right there.
I tend to find less "rubberheads" in the hive and nest(most of the time, I'm all alone, and very content in that fact).
A long time ago, people used to describe kiting in skyfire like they did PoFire. All things pass, everything becomes old and thus viewed differently.

If you spend any amount of time obsessing over what others think of how you play the game, or what zones you choose to play in, then it's time to turn off the computer and go get a blowjob.

I got a tell last night in the middle of a raid, "Grats on 68!"
I say, "I've been 68 for about a month now, but thanks."
"Oh ok, late grats =p"
"Do i know you?" (thinking maybe this was a new guildy)
"No, I was looking for my friend dottoo and i saw your lvl."
Long pause
"I'm a new mage, do you have any gear to give, or sell for cheap?"
"I'm kind of in the middle of a raid i can't really help you out."
"ok np, gl on raid :D"
"thanks bud"
Not a bad person by any means from the little conversation i had with him/her but WTH is that?
Then go figure, earlier in that raid we did one of the HoHa trials (RD) and no one got the "an etherial mist blah blah" message.
Then we head to HoHb after finishing the other two trials to kill MM. As a side note, I have done HoH trials at least 3 or 4 times in the last few months. Anyway i zone into HoHb and a few minutes later, "you do not meet the restrictions blah blah"
Gate to pot and go back to HoH, try to zone in, "you do not meet re......"
Nearly our entire guild was denied access, so we scrapped that and head to BoT to kill agnar quick.
In the end we wipe to agnar... well the uncontrolled adds really, but whatever.

We got a full group and are killing in BoT trying to get faction to get the alt tactics access. Suddenly:

WTF is that? use lfg tool and ill tell you when/if a space appears!!

Necro 1: 'Man I just bought Child of Bertox, man does it ever rule!'
Necro 2: 'Oh my god, you're fucking uber as hell man.' 'I've been using Emissary of Thule for the last 7 levels.' 'Where do you farm plat at?'
Me: 'Sorry guys, something just came up. /disband'

A previous poster hit it on the nail for me:
1. Clerics who nuke on mobs instead of healing then cry "Lom!!"
*My response IF I EVEN GROUP* You my friend have a problem.
2. The Cleric that thinks he is a wizard??
3. Level 10 Noobs in Pok squealing for a virtue, Kei, Conviction etc....
4. Level 65+ Necromancers asking me what "Dooming Darkness" does???!
5. A group of freaks who zone into the zone, /ooc Camp Check Please. I say (Insert Your Camp here) 3 mins later the group is treading THROUGH my camp with 25 mobs on their back. FD is your friend......
6. The above group after a wipeout automatically gives me consent to retrieve their corpses?!! WTF I didnt volunteer my time for you idiots....
7. Im then called a poor sport because I refuse to drag their corpses after they trained an entire zone because they didnt have common sense to cast invis (Gather Shadows)???
8. The begging across zone lines as a previous poster explained.
9. Hearing a high lvl necro begging for a group disgusts me..... Literally DISGUSTS ME....
10. Being told If I dont leave a camp, I will be trained. Uh hello, necros and monks are the master of training. You train me, Ill fd in ur lap....

I remember one RZ raid that some jack ass pally kept trying to train our raid. Was doing a decent job pulling for us, but we got annoyed so we just turned bard songs off and let him tank six mobs by himself. I was laughing my ass, one of the few moments I litereally laughed out loud while playing EQ. Taking bets on when he would pop LoH and how much more time that would give him was awesome.
Sorry, just all the train comments reminded me of that.

Things that piss me off....
1. People that complain in Bazaar and start dumb ass arguments in /OOC.
2. Clerics that only use Cheal and wonder why they have to keep rezzing a 10K tank in WoS every other kill. 2 days ago I was farming WoS and warrior guildieand me joinea group. Cleric uses only Cheal, warrior died on 1st pull. I say " Might wanna use fast heals on occassion" to which they reply " Fast heals suck" WTF!
3. People that try to tell you what spells to cast and how to play your class and in the same sentence tell me to save Harm Touch for the named  ( It happened)
4. People that send me random tells and I have never even talked to them EVER and then say " GIve me 500plat" Someone did this last week and it seems for the last 3 months I get at least 1-2 a week now.
5. WHen I get to an empty camp and after 15 minutes of kiting get a tell " I'm camping those stop killing them" and there wasnt anyone in the zone when I /entered upon zone in.
6. When the guy in #5 logs in 3 different characters, all at least 20 levels below me and none that can FD or are bards and attempt to try and train me, only to die each time when I FD and the train stuns the shit out of them. But gets pissed when I kill pet, invis and wait for him to come back only to train half the zone to his back, hit /wave and FD.
7. When theres me and 2 SKs in a group of guildies and I have to tell the Pally to stop pulling and let 1 of the FD classes pull because as soon as we zone in he trains the group killing himself and the other 2 in group that cant FD.
8. People that say " can someone help me" in /OOC then say they dont know what to do that they need gear and plat. Hmmm the time you've spent begging you could have been Xping and actually PLAYING THE GAME!!!!
9. People that think there a professional rapper and try to " rap battlez" in EQ. And people that name their characters shit like Xzibit, < any rapper name here >, legolas or any bastardized variation.
10. People that use "l33tsp3ak. I.E. LOLZ dawm you roxor man thats ub3rl33t

People who think, solely due to you not responding to a camp check means they're entitled to your camp if they show up. Sorry..I do afk when solo'ing, and even groups take breaks from time to time.
I actually had a group of dipshits actually say "I don't know what's going to happen now, we ran all the way up here to find the statue camped by you..but you didn't respond to our camp check". Which got the reply of "you're going to leave..or you're going to die, please go back to Bastion of Thunder and try and steal camps there(although they're open now!)".
I normally try to respond to camp checks..but goddamn, it's not to hard to believe that people do clear a "camp" and afk once in a while.

I am on Firiona *freaking* Vie, which has no /OCC channel, and /auction is only allowed in city zones.
For the first 50 Seasons of my life, I had /shout filtered off. I did not think I could hear a Noam shouting from a mile away. And, most of the shouts were immersion breaking anyway.

So the obvious solution to 80% of these pet peeves is to turn off OOC, SHOUT, AUCTION, ignore anyone you don't already know, turn a "Blind eye" to what your guildmates are doing, and basically completely close ourselves off to everyone...load two bots up..solo instances, and become GM tailors to make our gear..then 3 box DoN's until our eyes bleed?

I have a lot of trouble responding to camp checks. I don't read /ooc when I'm xping usually. Besides, on SZ camp checks were just a trick people used to try and get your location to kill you. I've been carefully trained not to respond to those - that's my excuse and I'm sticking by it! :D
Now, the thing to remember is... I can't type while I kite... see, so when you show up at my camp and begin discussing the matter with me in say or tells... naturally I had to FD in the middle of my kite to respond to you...

as far as the HHK MM goes. I am using that to get my Ranger some AAs (100%). Will use normal group stuff for lvl, cause he does need to keep his skills in respect to his level, plus he doesnt have that many 65 spells yet not to mention his 66. so, why move on to 67 just so I can have another lvl of spells that I dont have.
Zan has done a couple MMs for AA xp and some regualar xp,but has not lvled on them.
I have lvled my warr about 3 lvls on MMs and now he is up to 39.
MMs arent bad for getting AAs,but I would not use them for regular xp on a caster and even on melee take a break once in a while to get your skills maxed and learn what you can do with it.

MM are not the evil everyone makes them out to be. We have a few core people in the guild that normally group together, and if it's 20 mins before a raid, it's nice to do a quick orc mission for a basically free AA. Does it make me aworse necro for getting another AA rather then sitting in guild hall? Also works for after the raid when I want to go to bed and didn't get anything on the raid, head over to Nektulos and get a free AA for 15 mins of work with friends. Thats 2 AA's on a raid night where normally I wouldn't have gotten anything or blew most of my DKP on one item.
MM are evil only for those that do nothing more then sit in Nektulos and crank them out one after another.
I have a friend that did MM from lvl 55 -> 70, and has about 120 AAs now, but missing so many spells and has no cash to even buy runes. I don't group with him cause he can't handle the content I fight in right now as a backup healer (druid) since a 4K mana pool, with FT2 won't survive long in DoDH, or MPG trials.
But if (god forbid) Seb or Usal did a MM would they suddenly become worse necro's for it?

and solo it more effectively, for that matter. Of the few kite groups i've done, it ended up with members afking for long durations or getting tired of it and getting a tank... which i don't really mind, but it's insulting since the tanks they were getting were certainly not tanking as many as i was kiting at once. lfg is evil. if you must group i've found it best (kind of hard to set up sometimes) to get a few friends and work with them. that's basically how i ended up finishing up the mpg trial aas.

I don't see why he wouldn't be able to level from 1-70 in MMs with no gear, spells, etc...
I did a bunch of MMs before they nerfed the xp on them and when you could afk and not even zone in and still get the xp for completion. I did it so i could purchase the research/tradeskill AAs (read: 30aa in a night only playing a few hours) and make some GoD spells.
I haven't been back since, because they're not fun. I don't care if others do them, although leveling in them is not a good idea.
Anytime I log on there will be at least 6 guildies in HHK ... whatever turns ya on. I am told you get 7% reg xp or 1.3aa for this mission at lvl70. I guess I'll try this one eventually, but I am having too much fun soloing/boxing DoD missions right now. :D

That was my initial thought, until I gave it some time. If people log on and can't get a full group, 1.3 aa in 40mins might be good..or atleast average. If you're not in a raid geared guild, a normal group isn't going to be killing in MPG to do much better then that. Maybe they can't do RSS at all? It's risk free, it's easy..and you can do it with any group. Get saddled with a 8khp tank...who cares. It doesn't matter in an MM, although it'd certaintly hold back a normal group.
For a necro..hell no.

(diatribe alert) y'know... before they made it so that you couldn't get the free aas out of zone, the officer group in our raids would consist of 5 members, and the RL's boxed monk who would join the raid and somehow leave a level 50 warrior /shrug. Of course nobody noticed or mentioned anything, but ffs when you have officers calling their pings every fucking time (you mean you CAN'T get 2 aas in a time raid!?!) not really a big deal as i imagine he only did it during downtime and shit, but what compounded my frusteration was that he told the guild specifically that they were not to be doing this on raids : /. I think that isolated instance is what bothers me more than anything... although i'm sure it would be frusterating to find yourself in a group with an unsuitable warrior. Then again... we've probably all grouped with people pre-DoDh that were already pretty stellar at being unsuitable.
bottom line i guess, is fuck them. It's frusterating but if they want to suck, they can just do it away from me and i'll go back to soloing. Of course in moderation things are different...

well,
I realize I am, by far, not the best at kiting/solo xp thing. I think my major hold-back on that is my graphics card more than anything. One of these days I will get it upgraded and will feel better about hitting zones like NC, PoD and such. Spell cost would be one of my major holdups atm. Hard to find 56/57/58 spells that dont seem to cost an arm and a leg.
Yes, I do realize that those lvl of spells cost jack and shit when compared to mid to upper 60s and 70 spells or runes

Player calls camp check.
People (including myself) answer.
Same Player begs for room in a group.
Same player shows up at my camp wanting to group. * I kept wandering why my skellie wasn't atatcking the mob, it was his skellie - player was invised.
Player was a level 50 necro!
COME ON!!! No offense but that just really sucks.
You know why I don't want to group with you? you have poor people/communication skills, that leads me to believe you will suck at xp'ing too.
If I wanted to group, I would have said 'hey join me.' Gah. I think I'll keep /role up just so i can be a ****** (as only a dark elf can be) when I see these types.
He maybe the nicest person in the world, but don't bug me when I'm killing mobs that smoosh me fast.
edit to add: wtf is it w/ players no longer telling group their mana pool. This bugged me to no end when I was playing my cleric this past fall and grouped with a druid or another cleric.
** also - always keep your mana pool at 50% if grouped like that in case you need to heal. Ugh. This stuff was second nature to 75% of the player base when I used to play. <_< That's what back up healer was good at helping with, or else we'd egt a dspinstead!

This is a stupid non-directly EQ pet peeve. I had set up my Lucy name a long time ago after a little experiementation. It was deliberately designed so that my guild name didn't appear on the individual items page for items I contributed, although it did show in the all-time contributions list. Now, as of this week I think, it now shows the guild name on each item page in my name too :( . I'm not in that guild anymore, and I liked the legacy of them being in my contributions since they worked hard to get me new stuff to add and gave me tradeskill ingredients for free and the like. But, as I'm not in the guild and since most of the items I added were tradeskill items and so mostly my work, I liked that on the page of the item only my name showed. Plus, my new guild is not exactly going to be pleasant about my having another guild name showing, even though I play with Lucy collector off during raids to be sure not to contribute anything this guild would discover (not a lot of danger, they're a little slow coming into new stuff mostly).
Now, I get to decide if I shoud continue with the same name with the old guild now displaying in it, or if I should change my name and have it begin again at zero counting my all-time contributions to Lucy.

4. when i get called to a pickup group to do nothing but sit on my butt whn i should be clearly pulling a mission and breaking spawns but no the tank decides to pull the entire zone and wipe the group repeatedly.
5. My newest pet peeve is grouping with MM leveled folks who don't know how to play their class and constantly ask ok what do I do now?
6. people who beg for plat....I take 20kp and turn it into all copper and hand it to em in some far off place so they are no where near the bank especially fun for those without mounts.
7. people who send tells while I am only one in a zone and ask me to come PL them.
8. being the only tank in the group and being the only necro with enough hp to tank such said mob in such said zone because they were to lazy to find a tank.
0. people who train raids because of a contested mob to get to it before somoene downs it.
10. people who I know and use MQ2 for warping around a zone to get to named such mob for named such loot to twink an alt instead of the main who could use it.
11. people who repeatedly send you tells while afk with the afk message don't bother me I'm busy.....then complain when you dont answer them for hours on end.
12. people who refuse to research their class and then ask how do I play said such class can you help me.

I think my biggest pet peeve would be a lack of integrity in some players.
I have a rant about a necro I had the misfortune of meeting a couple nights ago who has usurped the title of Worst Necro Ever in my book.
I had just zoned into the Walls of Slaughter with a few guildies for a signet hunt. First thing I see when I zone in is a shout asking if anyone had any bonechips. How someone who depends on them heavily allows themself to run out, I don't know, but hey, maybe it's just a fluke thing. I could have offered some of mine, but they're easy to get and the player can just go gate and get some more. *shrug* That's what I would do anyways.
So, we get to camp and start pulling for a bit. Maybe 10 minutes later a few of us decide to AFK for drinks and snacks and such. I'm just returning to my comp with soda in hand when I see a GIANORMOUS train lead by a dark elf in a robe run by. Our monk was very close to it, but luckily he had FD'd before going AFK or he would have bit the dust. I quickly highlighted the train leader to get the person's name...it was the same person who had been shouting for bonechips, Twoktan. No warning was shouted or anything. Schmuck.
So after we all get back and the train disperses we pull and kill smoothly for oh, maybe 20 minutes. Monk spots our signet MoB and pulls it, we down it easily along with a few respawns that added in with it.
At this point, my gaming bud gets a tell from this Twoktan character asking if she can have the signet.
My partner, on Teamspeak, laughed and said to me, "Um, yeah...we're just going to GIVE you our signet because you asked." *smack smack*
Twoktan then sends tells to two other members of our group asking the same thing. They all tell her no, we have people that need it.
Soon she appears in our camp and starts telling us she has been camping that MoB and we KSed it! OMG...you moron...first off, you have no pet...second, I have not seen you in Lich form at all...you just caused a massive train when you could have just feigned...it was quite obvious that you have no control of the camp situation. A quick /who all revealed that she was a 70 necro of no guild.
Well, she must have whined to a friend in a raiding guild, because a couple members of it appeared and we watched as they purposely pulled another massive train on us. The druid casted Exodus so we were unscathed, but it's really pretty crappy to have such a lame-o player call in reinforcements by lying because she has such bad skills. *sigh* Can we say gimp MM leveled toon? Twoktan, next time just make a warrior. -Melee Attack-Taunt-Kick-Taunt-Kick-Taunt-Kick-Taunt-Kick. Sheesh.

I dunno what's with FV and training of late.
I am ashamed to say I trained one person in three+ years. Paladin walked into my camp, stood next to me and pulled the next mob without a word. So.. I pulled the next four. You know, to get ahead. Well, overpull! (mock gasp). I "lost control" and had to feign. Sorry, you made me try for too much. Last I saw he was running like hell..
Oh, and when Zertan showed me the Fire tables he included a "and if Fire and Fury shows up, just leave.. they will train you until you do". But I almost took that as a joke (we was after all Resolution at the time) because the trains never materialized.
But all I read about on FV boards are training complaints.. what gives? Is it really that open?
NylanaFV
04-18-2006, 10:37 PM
Dangit, Zertan never told me that when he took me on a date to the Fire tables. But honestly, I don't like them so much anyways and I only go there when Zortiz panders me about it.
The more I think about it, the more I wonder if some of it is the doing of plat/gear farmers. I mean, how does one make it to level 70 and not know how to feign? Okay, so MMs can account for that, but to purposely train people in a zone with highly desirable goods...hmmm.
I hear stories about certain guilds who deal in that, but ya know, I'm just not much of a gossip-monger so I rarely give it much thought. I usually game to hang out and pal around. :)
I did report that incident, by the way. Maybe when I log in I'll have a response.
The guild that trained us was Rising Darkness.
