Ok thx for all the info it has helped me out a bit but i am a newb to all of necromancers and everquest

question #1:Dark Elf, Iksar, or Euridite??
I like the thought of regen
also like the hide and agility
and Spellcasters need mana so i will go any way

Question #2:What spells should i get ASAP??


Question #3: Any other sugestions?

DE baby! Ok only reason i have to offer is that we are dead sexah and the unltravision is worth a lot more then you might think at first. Iksar's are nice mainly for the extra regen but that is mostly moot at higher levels anyway.

almost all the spells upto lvl 60 are easy and cheap to get. get them all )

spend pts on STA more so then INT when creating ur character. INT is very cheap and easy to come by once u've made ur toon, much more so then STA. push HP early on.

You might want to take a look at this topic regarding races:

As for spells, most of your low level spells can be found at vendors. The ones that need to be researched sometimes can be found for a very good price on the bazaar.
To save some money when buying spells, create a level 1 necromancer, pump all points into charisma and if you can get your hands of Opal mugs (they are cheap), grab a couple (they boost your charisma by +25 each) and buy your spells.

eh...I like my racial regen. As an iksar the first few levels, if your not fighting 2 or more at once, your probably not gonna have a problem killing even and yellow cons. The little new quests in east cabilis aren't bad(neriak's are better), Iksars get infravision, a step below ultra but very passable...and once you get Call of Bones(and beyond) most of the time your fighting you'll have ultravision from your mana conversion. People try to say it takes longer to level an iksar then a DE(gnomes make good necros too, btw) because of the exp penalty. Well iksars have less downtime to compensate, especially 5-39. Then benefit doesn't go away at 40, but it does decrease a bit. Anytime I duo'd with a non-iksar necro, I was ALWAYS waiting for him/her once in a while, for health/mana. Anyway, as a necromancer I don't believe there is a bad class to choose. Human and erudite wouldn't be a personal choice I'd make, but the other 3 seem to be pretty equal.

One thing I'd suggest. Don't come to the board and ask what race I should be. You will get as many responses as their are races and people. :rolleyes:

Also, if you let the group mentality make your choice you will always wonder how the other races were. Just look at the pros and cons and decide for yourself. (there are already too many threads about what race to pick).

You forgot the list the winner.

Gnomes.

Roll a Gnome with +25 STA and it will be the win. +INT gear is cheap, the +STA you rolled yourself at creation will come in great handy when you'll older...and remember

HP, then Mana, then Regen.


Regen doesn't do you CRAP when you're losing it 100+ at a time from a mob swinging at you.

well that isn't when you actually use regen now is it. If anyone is gonna make a point about the benefit of Iksar regen they are talking about after the fight when trying to recoup mana/hp.

If you're trying to ballance your regen to counter the hits your taking during a fight well.....good luck!

My Point is that Regen is damn nice...but NOWHERE near as important as HP.

If you go Iksar, you'll most likely end up having to dump your bonus points in to INT instead of STA to make up for their crap base INT.

And, really, the only time Regen is important is in to instances.

Otherwise, if you're actively playing then you'd be smart and most likely just pop off an Eye of Zomm (from Holgresh Elder Beads or maybe a set of Stalking Probes) and then cast whatever DoT / HoT spell you have at the moment.

So with my BA III and AE IV items that means that each stalking probe gives me a 866 HP heal (at 96.23 HP per tick for nine ticks) at a cost of 256 mana per cast.

Now add my INNATE REGEN (3) to that 96.23 HP per tick and please tell me why you think you need to add racial or item (think ZHeart) to that?

...
PLUS if you are a Gnome, you can make your own damn Stalking Probes since Holgresh Elder Beads are so damn expensive.


Bottom line. Most important stats are (**in this order**)[1] HP
[2] Mana
[3] Flowing Thought
[4] Intelligence
[5] Regeneration
[6] Saves / Resists
[7] Amour Class
