How did you guys raise research skill?

I find it hard to raise this skill :(

I started to until some of the recipes didn't work. Now I just buy them through points.

I didn't bother with the research training stuff, seemed to me to cost just as much as making real spells, and takes more time to farm. I do some combos and I pay for research with points for a trainer in Pok, theres a ikky warlock trainer on the evil side in the building by the nek forest stone. I found the cost and time are just as high as paying the trainer, though I still do both, I usually end up paying for some of my points. Both get expensive, so just have take time to farm all the words, farm the plat (which is what I do, get cov and thurg faction) sell the toes and helms to others for faction, sometimes sell a head or two, still got exp in GD via giants til 51, can also go to Kael and do it.

Could you explain the buying of points please? I seem to recall (and my memory of all this is ancient) that you could only spend so much money to increase skils. (Maybe I'm think of different skills). Maybe I'm think of the actually points you earn per level...maybe I should hold off on thinking.

Buying points; I put all 5 points into my research training each time I level. You can only do this for so long before it starts costing cp, then sp.. up to many pp.

Research is not like most other skills you can train research all the way to 200 though it does start to cost a bit. In the end though when you can combine your own high end spells its worth it. About 2 k to get research up to 200 or more not sure on the exact cost. But you have to look at the cost of spells versus the cost of components.

for about 5kpp you can max your skill at the trainer buy points.

At lower levels it is easier to actually just merchant farm cheap words and make the lower level spells and vendor them off. I am only buying my last 50 points at the trainer since words at that level get expensive.

Remember to SAVE YOUR POINTS FOR SECONDARY FORTE AA training to get that skill up quickly :P

good advive majordeath, I do have extra points I was wondering what I was goign to do with them after I finished research.
