mounts

i was just wondering how many poeple use a mount and if they like them. i have one just wondering what everyone thinks about this. im thinking it is easier if im soloing not to have one but if im in a group i will use it. just wondering what everyone else thought of this.

Good for groups. Especially in the planes where you really do not want to sit and end up with aggro.

I still use mine a lot.. even though I didnt think I would much after 50+, but theres still a use for them for various situations.

I love having a mount. When I'm outdoors or in a zone that allows it, non-stop medding and sitting health regen. Also no aggro that you would normally get from sitting. I bought the cheapest one, around 9K, and have not regretted it.

Also you can FD on the mount and it just disappears. I was first afraid you would be unable to FD on it since you can't sit/camp while on a mount.

Sitting on mount only gives you sitting bonus for mana not hitpoints

Ive had a mount for ever and there great i even got one for my warrior lol they are veary nice for medding and gaining mana

Prolly good for DE's and such, me myself is an Ikky so i want my sitting health regen. If i wasn't an iksar i would too use a mount.

Ok here are my thoughts...

The only situations I see myself using a mount are as follows,

1. In an outdoor group, which by the way isnt as common as indoor/dungeon groups.

2. MAYBE soloing, but I'm not sure if I would like using one during soloing, due to the slow startup/stop etc. Also sometimes you want sit aggro when youre kiting.

Other than that, we really dont need mounts. cant use them in dungeons, and I dont think I'd use one soloing. Only other reason I'd need one is for pvp.

So personally, I think I'm gonna get the cheapest 8-9k lizzy mount for outdoor grouping situations, and If I see more of a need for a mount, I'll save for the 100k one.

from my experience, I have a cleric and a necro, both have a mount.. My cleric basically never goes w/o using his, coz all he does is sit and stare at the wall (to avoid lag) and on his mount constantly regenning.. good part for him, is he rarely needs to use that much mana that would require him to have kei.. I use a self only shielding spell for him that has a slight mana regen, and when I dual box him, I hardly need to get kei for usually I dont get in too much trouble to even need him, but its nice xping two toons at once. For the Necro.. I have a lizzie mount, which in all honesty, I use a lot. Since I box the cleric, having a ch on the pet is fairly easy as he can tank ok on most the mobs I m xping against. I never really worry about mana with the mount on, but I do have to med frequently when I do not, even with lich on.. My manapool is 3300+ at lvl 55. Still I have found that having the mount is handy in more than a few situations.
