I've read through, although doesnt say anything about level recommended, or items/resists recommended here..

Here is what he wrote on his site regarding that:

This is a farming guide site meant for level 65 necromancers with lots of AA's(100 or so, read Farming Basics). Many of the same strategies could be applied to other classes with improvisation I guess.
http://web.syr.edu/~tjmyers/platfarm/basics.html
1. Get hitpoint gear.
* * * * * You will be tanking mobs, and therefore need hitpoints. Tanking?! You crazy! Nope, you have tons of mana why not stand in front of a mob and lifetap it to death. I recommend AT LEAST 2000hps completely unbuffed before you go around tanking mobs that hit for 300+
2. Get AA's
* * * * * Nessesary AA's, in order of importance for farming(more or less): Suspended Minon 2, Lightening Reflexes 5, Fury of Magic 3, Theft of Life 3, Innate Invis vs. Undead, Pet Discipline, Spell Casting Master 3, Channeling Focus 3, Innate Defense 5.
These are more or less nessesary AA's for farming. Of course, in general, I would recommend IRS3, Regen3, everyone gets WTD, Casting Subetly(and no it DOES NOT screw up aggro kiting...ever), and Lifeburn.
3. Get an Improved Damage 4 item
* * * * * For every lifetap you land, you will get an extra 200-300more hitpoitns fo healing(and direct damage of course) with an ID4 item. I recommend: Dusty Girdle of Reformed Sand, or aCeramic Insence Burner of Ro
*
5. Get a pre-nerf Circlet of Shadows
* * * * * Instant Click Invisibility = money. You can walk around in veksar between live and undead like you own the place. If you are feign death with a mob who has never had you on his aggro list is standing right above you, you can get up and click it(quickly) without it aggroing on you. Same thing with Innate Vs Undead AA, which is instant(recast 7 seconds)
6. Get long lasting buffs
Before I sit down for 3-4hours of farming, I'll make sure I have a virtue on. I like to use the sheilding for the MR, but you can get fo7 also if you so desire. Spiritual Dominion and a regen helps although they don't last long, but they may give you that extra edge when you are starting for spawn breaks or when the shit goes down early before you get a rhythm going.
Obviously times have changed just a hair..

heh I got a fungi on accident does that count?
Story goes am doing Demi lich cap quest need shroom got sick of looking for ground spawn in Lfay.
Go into Seb get shroom, see king up and think WTF, try and pet pull get one to split off but king comes with it as soon as I attack.
Kill King, then the one I meant to pull and am like WOW I got a fungi and you and I and everyone else knows it would have been 20+ hours if I had meant to camp him.
He is not in that hard a spot to get to FYI just a few mobs that do summon in the way. First pull on the Fungus guys after I opened the door into their area was like 7-8 which caused a dead pet and a FD. After that though it really was pretty easy, I did this about 2-3 months ago btw and was running self buffed right at like 4k hps am level 70 and 500+ AA at the time not sure how much that helps but there ya go am pretty sure I still have my magelo linked at bottom but its not at same point I was when I killed king.

Having done this camp off an on for over 5 yrs across 3 toons now, if your intention is to obtain a fungi, then I highly suggest you just forget about it.
I took my wizard there in the highlight of Kunark, (when there would be almost 100 people in Seb), my ranger in the highlight of Velious, (when there would be 50ish people there), and recently I have gone solo with my ranger to farm out of boredom.
Last couple times, I took the necro along for xp purposes so she could soak up xp from my farming attempts.
First hurdle is finding him uncamped. This spot is a huge favorite for rangers and beastlords to farm in the desperate attempt to see a fungi drop. I personally farm in the hope that Trak will spawn while I'm doing it.
Second hurdle is not necessarily breaking the spawn up, but surviving the initial rush. Trying to fd split and survive the wanderers is almost a ludicrous concept after doing this as much as I have.
Basically, if you have even one adept or priest on the trio platform, yer gonna end up fighting them all at once, directly or indirectly. Their heal range is substantial enough to where they can literally almost heal anything you are fighting at the pullto spot. If there are multiple healers, prepare for a brutal battle. I personally had a "fun" time of the King, and 2 priests up top when I got to the camp. Keep in mind priests can CH about 5 times each.
If it weren't for DS's, and almost every heal AA maxed out with a healing V aug, there would have been no way I would have survived. Long story short, I won with little mana left, and ultimately the DS was the only thing that kept the priests blowing their mana pool enough to where I could even survive. The King LoH himself was sauce for the goose, but in the end, the initial breakin was ugly.
Of course, he didn't drop a fungi. In fact, the blunt reality of the matter is, I have probably spent hundreds of hours at this camp over the course of the years. Initially, when Kunark launched the drop rate was quite nice. I was a manager of a video game store back then, and had customers paying their rent every month selling fungis online. By the time I had my wizard high enough level to fight there, they had nerfed the drop rate I think twice already.
They have since nerfed it several more times, thus making the drop insanely rare. I have seen ONE, yes ONE fungi drop in all my time there, and the drop I saw was probably about a month or so ago when I went down there to wait on Trak again. I have never seen a fungi staff drop, and have destroyed hundreds of robes.
The king basically pops probably one in three spawns on average, the spawn time is around 26 mins. I sold that fungi for 50k (on Bristlebane) in one night in trader mode. I undercut the other half dozen fungis going for around 60kish each.
If you are looking to have a fungi for personal use, it would be faster to farm 1k items in any number of spots and sell them on trader than it would be to farm a fungi itself. If you are thinking of farming fungis for cash to sell, once again, you would be able to farm any number of items to sell much faster and generate far more than you would by actually getting one fungi.
Example, I have PL'd my necro with my ranger in a very short amount of time. Think her played time is just over 9 days atm. Between saving common selling tradeskill items (crystallized sulfur, nodding blue lillies, and the list goes on and on depending what zone you are in), items that drop in Guk, Sebillis, and HS to just name a few, I have probably made well over 150k in the bazaar. I still probably have 4 bags of items waiting to be transferred to trader to be sold. VL was another zone that has a lot of 1k to 3k items that are easily farmed in mass quantity.
Do yourself a favor, unless you believe in luck, don't bother farming this camp unless you have an ulterior motive like I had (Trakanon, Seb Protector, and Tolumpaj). Considering Divine Intervention goes for ridiculous prices on Bristlebane, and the fact I just like soloing Trak, I would never set foot in this camp again. B)
Hope that gives a different view of the futility of farming fungis.

Heh, a well Bazaar'd and DoN geared Necro could walk all over this camp with effort. The 67 pet can tank anything besides trakanon in sebilis and do it quite well...so there goes one add. BTW learn how to pet pull and you won't care what the spawns are on the platform.
The difference between a dead adept and one that lives is gonna be a single dreadpyre crit.

I'm pretty much a gimp and I easily soloed this camp. 70 Necro with 180 AAs. King spawns 1 in 2.5. It's a long camp, but worth it in my opinion. Once you get the spawn time down, you can do something else while you wait for your spawns.

I ran through here with a couple of friends once and got two in a couple of hours of messing around. I went back solo a bunch of times and have spent 6 plus hours there by myself and haven't had a drop. So it's not worth it to farm fungi's for cash, but it's easily done.
I think I was 68 at the time. The 67 pet will own anything in here. Burn down the healers with a couple of taps and you're golden. You can pet pull to seperate if the king is up when you get their, or you can root split.
