Could go to Jaggedpine Forest (http://www.eqatlas.com/jaggedpineforestmap.html) and Hunt in area # 7 on map. Nothing agro's in the area, so kiting is easy. Its good to low 40's and there a bank and merchants (indiff to all) close by.

You want to hunt:

A Cave Basilisk 30 - 33 Monster
A Cave Basilisk Genitor 33 - 40 Monster (drops 1-4 eggs for baking skill)

Or Rath Mountains (http://www.eqatlas.com/rathemtnsmap.html). Hunt in area 19 for these.

A Hill Giant 33 - 37 Monster (exp isn't as uber, but the money is nice)

imo, the best place to solo is the plaguebone camp in Dreadlands (http://www.eqatlas.com/kunark/dreadlandsvalleymap.html)

these are the mobs that are there

a plaguebone thief lvl 38-41
plaguebone skeleton lvl 33-37
greater plaguebone lvl 40-43
a greater spurebone lvl 36-40

the skellys in the pyramid can be single pulled easily even when standing right on top of each other, pull with snare until way outside the pyramid then sic pet fear stack dot's and wait till it dies, you do have to watch for the occasional wandering mob, the generally path over the top of the pyramid and stop one on either side of the entrance to the pyramid, then after a short time they path off

Ok well I think I'm gonna go check out DL. Can you give me any more information on where that pyramid is located?

Is it on the side of the portals before you go through the ice cave? or is it on the other huge side?

Area #3 here Dreadlands Lost Valley (http://www.eqatlas.com/kunark/dreadlandsvalleymap.html). Its on the north edge, Big pyramid in middle.

K found it, nice exp...easy even con kills.

Still trying to figure out the most efficient way, fear kiting, aggro kiting, or pet head to head with shackle of spirit. So far its looking like fear kiting is most effecient...not sure which dots to use yet though...I'm thinking eternetie's torment and vampiric embrace.

YOu can do Spirocs in Timorous Deep. They are great exp and you can sit safely and afk if needed.

I tried out Plaguebones in DL. Was a little rough, I was often 50% mana at the end of the fight. I would pull with Shackle of Spirit and then sick pet. Then I would heal pet over time and VC the plaguebone thieves.

What am I doing wrong?

dunno about that lvl but once you get 45ish lower guk is $$ 99% undead and a better zem (zone exp modifier) than dl etc. i'm pretty sure...also some decent tradeables.

Well I suggest either fear kiting them or agro kiting them. If you fear kite them pull them away from the pyramid (ie. if you stand facing the ent to the room where they spawn and pull them to the corner of the pad to your right then fear them you will be fine fearing them. otherwise snare, turn pet taunt off dot and have them chase you around the smaller pyramid (the one directly accross from the doorway)

The only thing I remember at 39 is of course in DL and I would occasionly go to Rathe Mts and fight hill giants...also I was in Dawnshroud Peaks as well...fighting the moose looking mobs.

I went to the Lost Valley in DL and didn't see any Plaguebones anywhere. Am I looking in the wrong spot? I went to the big platform and all i found there was a merchant selling food and monk items.

Theyre right near wizzy spires, just head...south i believe and you will see some more big spires with like a little village with pyramids and stuff. then just find the pyramid with a bunch of skellys inside and setup shop there.

Found it thanx. Made 40 in about 3 hours. Great spot to solo. Loot wasn't bad either.

If you are still in the 39 range I can also suggest Watchman Halv in Steamfont. Exp is good until 45 or so, loot is decent, fine steel and armor (i believe, been a while).

Following the advise in another post here, I headed to Gunthak. I spent the past 4 hours there and leveled to 40 plus an additional 20% and made almost 250pp. Granted it's not the fastest or the best loot but it's not bad and you could not ask for a safer place if your just looking for a relaxed hunt.

Just a quick note while killing plaguebones! This is a great area to max out your skill in "Diviniation" and "Evocation". Use "Sense the Dead" (lvl 1) spell "Diviniation" to locate a pb thief. You now have a target. Cast your best slow spell, (darkness group) back off to the small pyramid.

When your target gets outside, fear it, sic pet, cast "Shackles" then use your lvl 8 "Ward Undead" spell (evocation) a few times as manna permits. Then sit and med. If needed use "Dark Pact" to regain manna. Keep an eye on "Jabber" just to make sure he is ok! If necessary heal him.

It may take a little while to find which is best for your particular style of play. ;)

The main thing is that you will be maxing "Diviniation" and "Evocation" these skills will be of great use later on. :D :D

While I am on the subject of maxing your "Diviniation" and "Evocation" skills. Let me pass on a tip given to me a long time ago. Every time you level go back to a safe area (newbie comes to mind) and max out all your skills.

Just mem your lowest lvl spell and use it until your maxed for that lvl. (usually your lvl x 5 plus five. ie. lvl 5 x 5 = 25 +5 = 30) This will help out with those fizzles too. Not stop them! but definately reduce them. Plus you will benifit from this as you progress into higher levels.

If your comment is that your skills will progress normaly during your game play. Believe me it will not, especially "Evocation", and at the higher levels it's a real pain to do. You want to have this skill maxed for your well being.

Just a helpful hint (was to me anyway) hope it helps someone.
