the list is out and i guess its ok. its the best we could reach, imho. and you did a good job sauruman, even if some guys are still argueing on both boards.

but, how will you deal with this list now differently?

what will be different to Sissls approach, who had unfortunately just limited succes to make something happen. no doubt, sissl made something happen, but the devs ignored alot of the other stuff, too.

what is your approach sauruman, to make it happen. and even if you cant make it happen, to at least get a statement from the devs, why it shouldnt be. for every damn point on our list. this is at least my expectation. and not just " we are looking at it for next expansion, perhaps, ......". something substantial, please! even a clear NO, which means, to explain, why they say NO.

is your goal to really implement a bilateral discussion amongst necs and devs via their correspondent starting with this new list? you know? bilateral means to openly discuss with each other and this didnt happen in the last 6 years.

and do you think, that the devs are allowed, or willing, or even just able to do something like a discussion and not just throwing a bone from time to time?

and if you are convinced, why?

all my support, no doubt. but whats your next steps bro?

Great question Usul.

First, remember I'm not an advocate of the class. What I am is the person who forwards everyones concerns in a concise and brief manner to the developers. My strong personal feeling ultimately get filtered out in conversations I have with SOE, and my opinions are based off more quanitative observations then qualitative assertions.

What issues we forward, and how I forward them is ultimately up to the correspondent.

Therefore, I will be asking for developer feedback on the finalized list, and now that beta is in the works I'll be inputting my experiences with the developers on those boards and through specific input. I know Sissl played a big role in keeping corath venom and dread pyre unnerfed for release, for instance. My feeling is many of these issues can be resolved in quick changes in new expansion content- so that will be my priority atm. I know developers literally will be 12-14 hour days until the new expansion comes out, so that will be demanding nearly all their time anyways. Its the cycle of EQ so to speak.

How can you help? When you see a thread anywhere, just reply to it. Its that simple. Emphasis on the veteran's lounge and necromancer tomb forums on SOE's site. They read these forums, and those threads that don't get a developer responce I'll forward through the channels I have available. Feel free to start your own threads- and remember everything you say will ultimately reflect how the necromancer community is perceived. Be respectful, yet give them hell.

The developers DO pay attention to public opinion, so backing up the items on the top ten list you want to see changed the most is not in vain.

The problem I'm having and all correspondents in general ever since this program was started was the flow of communication back to the community. In some instances, like the new manaburn, public opinion was sought out directly by developers by public threads. In general, correspondents learn about changes just prior to the public finding out. This is something that deeply concerns me. The player community should have a little more say, and advance warning, when large changes are made or new elements implemented. It is a delecate subject, because it has been made pretty clear recently that correspondents aren't advocates for their classes, rather the individual responcible for pushing information upstream.

My specific request that I placed recently was that the top ten list receive a little more analysis and at minimum better notes on it. "currently being evaluated" or "currently being discussed" doesn't help us generally, and items on our list have been stuck at that point for roughly a year. Other specific ways for getting better replies for our class lists I can't go into here, but rest assured we are hopeful that some minor changes are coming in how to deal with the top ten list and get better dev feedback on it.

You're not an advocate of the class???

I can talk to SOE, if you're not our advocate, what exactly are you besides a message forwarding system??

Steady, son.

Just a reminder...your correspondent is NOT a class representative or spokesperson. Please read below for a refresher on what the correspondent will be doing.

The role of a correspondent will be to help us gather information; unfortunately we may miss posts on each board so these folks will be our extra eyes and bring posts we may have missed to our attention. They will float posts that they feel the community should comment on, and we may also rely on them to start posts to gather information, and to bring posts regarding bugs to our attention. Each correspondent will have access to a correspondent only board to ask questions, have discussions and bring information to our attention.[/quote]

Yes, his (rather thankless) job is to forward our message, God help him, cause getting all of us to agree on anything is my definition of the lowest circle of hell.

Did you apply? I did not..
