Wtf is wrong with my server. Funeral Pyre is going for 30k on a GOOD day. Legacy of Zek I didnt find for less then 7k, got it from a pal for 2k.

Spells on Quellious are retarted in pricing. But equipment is cheap as dirt.

Lv 62 now, and all i have is new sheild spell, pet, and 62 pet buff.

63 pet is going for 45k last i checked.

I'll do the combine for free on bertox. If I have to supply the words or whatever, I'll usually ask for 5k from a necro. If it's a bot..I'll hold firm for 10k. If the necro can't afford 5k, I may or may not just give it to them..or accept whatever they feel they can part with.

I don't know if it still is, but Dark Plague is vendored at the Erudite necro vendor in PoK. You might want to try /oocin that you're buying Eth and Spec Parch MQs in PoK. There's usually someone that wants to dump a whole bunch for cheap.

Edit - As for FPoK, there's usually some researcher that will be kind enough to either do the combine at no cost or very little cost. I wish you were on Saryrn, I do any research combine by donation if you have the components already, and FPoK is quite trivial to me at this point.

I have had all the words to research the spell before, but the guy attempting it, (250ish skill) failed the combine =\ there went 6k of words. After that, since i cant find necro's on Quel with crazy high research, I will just save up to find it in the bazaar for cheaper than 30k.

My reasearch skill is only at like 164 right now, just 10 points lower then my tailoring =)

Okay. So the prices fell to 15k....14k....and saw one for 13.5k....i have 10k....

I save up my piddly 5k to buy the spell and i look in the bazaar, and there are 10 coppies for sale.

30k, 28k, and 27k.

What. The. Fuck.

Jesus christ. I cannot get this goddamn spell.

Even the words are selling for a total of 15k. And thats just for one attempt. I am going to scream with this. Quellious has the most FUBAR prices. Hell, even night fire is going for 25k. every server people seem to say these spells are like <15k. Why the hell is Quell so lame with the prices?

This bites being 65 and having to use Dark Plage, Pyro, Ignite BLood, CoC, Ebolt and Splurt as a spell lineup.

At least i have my 61 pet with the 62 pet buff.

Just need the 63 snare and some dots and i can acually level again. :blink:

Since I don't get to play much anymore, I park Drazz in the Bazaar on Quellious. I usually see Demi Lich for 8-10K. Someone prolly just has someone dumping them some plat and that was how they worked out the trade (buy the spell for WAY more than it's worth).

When do you play? I never get to play during normal hours, so most of the traders i see have spells all crazy prices.

Although i did see nights beckon, night fire, and another lvl 65 spell all goin for 9-11kp, while funeral pyre was still goin for 20-30k.

What is so special about this spell that it costs so dang much?

Night fire is easily 1/2 to 1/3 of the price, and its the next spell up, and lvl 65 to boot.

Got my hands on Blood of Thule, so at least i have a dot that can do 400 dmg/tick. But i only have Dark Plague and Pyrocuror to stack it with atm.

71% into 65 too, so once i hit 66 and get myself death peace i dont know what i am gonna do about spells =P need to get the 63 and 65 pets, can get em both for about 20k it seems. so i figure i need about 50-70kp for my next 7 spells from 63-65. ugh.

Wait till you need to start buying/farming runes. I rolled a cleric couple weeks back, and having 6 66 spells and 6 67's had me living in the Drunt/Aggressive camp for days to cover the necro and cleric runes.

Runes were really cheap there for awhile, then they seemed to stealth nerf the orcs in DoD. Took my trio there with a shammy friend to farm and cleared it 3 times. Not a friggin one dropped.

I had 4 people send me tells and ask me to take 10K, I refused and got 22K 1 hour later.

First nobody can find the words and 2nd nobody has the necro research skill.

I paid 8K for those words of torment btw. but I still turned over 10K in profit.

I think Isladar's Bazaar INI still has FPoK at 5k.

But I *think* we got the Words vendor diving or goofing off. At least I hope I wasn't selling it for less than she paid for the Words.

Why cant people just sell it cheaper then 20k?

The one time i saw it for 17k, i only had 4k in the bank due to just buying Sayrn's Companion (love those 217 backstabs =P )

Oh well, just need to farm more. Its on the back burner at the moment tho. With Night Fire, Blood of Thule, Dark Plage, and Pyro, I am not doing too too bad. focusing on getting the 66 dot and the 65 pet first.

And i understand why its so expensive, I would use it as one of my main dots almost all the time. So its going to be a really good spell to get, once i get it. But if it would only drop down to 15k or so i *might* be able to pull some plat outta my @$$ to get it...

lol now I feel kinda bad for getting it so cheaply. Maybe pp still has some value on Saryrn, but that would be a shocker.

Anyway - This may seem obvious, but why not just send tells to everyone? Just explain,

"Look, pyre was once the end all of DoTs, but it's simply not worth (35k) any more. Just because other vendors have it at the price doesn't make it so. If I have a Sickly Glowing Orb up for 50k, doesn't mean it's worth that."

Or even something like

"look at how many copies of Pyre there are! why are you charging so much, when it's not moving at that price?"

or even:

"Look friend, I will only buy one copy of Funeral Pyre in my entire EQ Career. You can either get 15k from me, or someone else can. If you think about it, there are not as many people making alts any more, especially with the KEI nerf....why don't you accept my offer of x, and let's go play?"

I'd also use "/auction WTB Funeral Pyre, paying 14k, pst".

Some rich player will run across a copy and want to pawn it off quick. You know, the players that are so loaded they dont' have to buy/sell anymore.

Sell them on it. They only have it at that price because they see others with it at that price. Drake scales are a good example of this - they're 33k on Saryrn! For just one!

I had a SK chastise me the other day because my 65 spells where "outrageous"

I told him its simple beavis, you can buy your glyphed rune word for 17-19K and get a 20% chance to get your spell or just pay 20-23K for 100% chance to get it from me...
He bought his spells from me 5 mins later, friggen bonehead. Seemed like a pretty good deal to me. Id pay 2K more to not have to buy another Glyph.

Saw something mentioned in this post abour deep orcs no longer droping runes. My guild took a group there 1 night and got 15+ in 2 hours. Went back 2 nights later and after almost 3 hours had none. Next day I heard they were never supposed to drop those and that it was an itemization bug they finally fixed. /shrug. Just what I heard but I know for sure there not dropping anymore from Deep Orcs in Stoneroot.

If i had to guess, dev #1 made most the zone, dev #2 said "what can drop runes", picked those upped their hps and DPS, and then added the runes to their loot table. A year later dev 1 notices and goes WTF?!?

generally the higher level researchers will gladly do a combine for you for very litte (if not free), they are just thrilled to have anouther chance to skill up.

Sorik - I have seen it up but not in a while. My necro is only 47 so have some time and try to remember to search for it every time I hit the baz.

By the by I am working on research (well off and on) so if you would like for me to try a combine let me know. That said my current skill is only 175 with geerlock. Am on my main box as either Taiglin or Bryil.

I kept searching bazaar for the words, and got them cheap one night. Had a guildie do the combine for me, and that was that. I do know on Nameless there's quiet a bit of people with high spell research skills. Shoot me a tell on either Golthine or Wreckum if you get the words, and I'll see if I can help out.
