I have 3 banked AA's and I just broke 65 last night. I have scm3, run3, regen3 and fury2. I'm not to interested in getting fury3, I find that even grouped I'm still using dots more than nukes. I am in a guild that now consists of me and my wife =) (and our 3rd account) and we usually duo but have more recently been grouping in NC and getting our feed wet in WoS.

I am looking to invest my AA's and can't decide between starting with pet AA's (critical hits and able to receive beneficial spells and then flurry) or to start working on critical affliction. I have been considering run5 but with my wife being druid I put this as a low priority.

My question is what will give me the most bang for my buck? Improving pet with AA's or critical affliction line? Or am I missing something that I need to be kicked for over looking ... Any information you all can provide would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Ok, you have run3 and SCM, but you're only level 65. Thats the problem.

Level up to 68 (i think) and get run5 and get your FD AA. Then go back to leveling till you get 70. AA are faster at 70, and so are groups.

However, when the time goes DoT Crits after all the listed above.

I went the following:

Crit dots max, lifetap AA maxed, DD's maxed, pet flurry. Those will keep you busy for a long time

if your casual and just duo i would recomend pet hold as your next aa then try and get 66 and fd at least.

AA's are not as important on necros as some lesser classes so you will be doing ok without the dot/nuke crit ones for a while but they should be on the wish list. (just dont count how many it takes it gets depressing).

Stuff like swarm of decay army.wake the dead are pretty scare the fk out of tanks etc but not really worthwhile as "dps defining" i got em when i had the points and was bored.

Crit Affliction > Pet Crit/Flurry

I'd level up though and get FD aa and Neumonic Retention first.

Level 70 > Death Peace > 9th spell gem

Sihk, I think you forgot the plus signs...it's greater than or equal to, with emphasis on the equal to.

critical affliction is huge... as is pet hold

i'd also suggest getting to L67, as there are a lot of good spell upgrades via droppable runes that you two could also farm

L70 has its advantages too, but one thing to keep in mind is where you hunt and who you hunt with... getting to L70 will improve your AA/hour, but it will also limit the spots where you can xp (especially if you don't have a third person to grab instances with)

so i'd suggest L67, then hold 'till you get a good few AAs and feel like moving on to harder spots

Then go back to leveling till you get 70.* AA are faster at 70, and so are groups.

I thought AAs are faster before 70, that was why many necros stayed lower levels while pushing for AAs.

If you don't have a way of getting greater and glowing runes, you might only level as far as you can while getting those level's spell upgrades.

Edit: Here's proof that you will gain AAs faster by being lower level (unless you can get spell upgrades by leveling that increase your dps sufficiently so as to offset the higher exp. requirement per AA for being higher level).

AAs are faster at L70, but there are a lot of mitigating factors:

focus items... BA, AE and especially any kind of DoT extension focus greatly effects your soloing efficiency

AAs like the critical affliction line also help a lot

grouping (and gear) opportunities open up in L69+ zones like MPG

the L70s here who say "get to L70" also had hundreds of AAs before L70 ever existed... not all L70s are equal ;) if you have zero AAs and bazaarish equipment, i'd argue that you are better served AAing at L65-67 (or even L63) for a bit to get that first 80-90 essential AAs

camp competition... the best L70 solo spots are instances, so you need 3 toons to get them with... even if you are doing solo... at L65, or even L67, there are a lot more hunting spots outside instances the net decent AAxp

grouping with friends... if most of your friends are L65, you might wanna stay there for a bit so aaxp is better when you group

Good points.

What about the nest? That's pretty great at any level that you can live through it(68-70..maybe 67, pending gear) and be efficient there. The hive, non-instance isn't bad either(not as good as instance, but hardly what I'd call bad).
