So what new spells that I won't see for the next two years are we getting?

I have heard we get three new spells:

One is a new lich which does a 72/tick mana regen (7/tick upgrade)

Another is a new mindwrack upgrade (340 instead of 300, so hardly a real upgrade)

The final is a 5% DoT damage enhancement that affects other members in the group like shamans etc.

Basically, we got screwed =)

Hrm.

kind of marginal too... and if it means i am going to be asked to buff people, it sucks

i imagine you have to do around 10 missions to get these spells too?

Hm, oddly enough, I now don't care if I don't see those spells for the next two years.

We used to have a very nice spell, til someone (gee, I wonder who) opted to post some fake, hypothetical, parses. Ironically enough, the spell was yanked like the next day for the reason of being "too powerful", which it wasn't overpowering in any way.

Xelgadis i would imagine you know full well that any real upgrade we get will seriously threaten us to get nerfed the fuck out of.

people are tight liped right now, its the only reason we are not being nerfed.

Xelgadis

This is very true. As far as being tight lipped about the class, perhaps our correspondant should look into that, rather than open his mouth.

It's a stationary ward that affects everyone near it.

That's not what it does, that was just one of the mentioned possible effects that didn't actually get changed. It is actually a little DoT (440 a tick I think on final evaluation) that hits anything in range of the trap, but only stays on while the mob is in range. Range is like 20' btw, which is miniscule. Also, it is resisted quite a lot, even by green mobs with fairly low resists.

All spells in this expansion are crap. For other classes, they got fly crap. We got big fucking piles of elephant dung crap spells. But its all crap.

Yea, that's what I meant. Stationary trap. <_<

Actually, I couldn't keep up with the 12 different concepts that kept getting kicked around.

Well, I just read that the Unicorn/Nightmare graphics upgrade to the Holy/Unholy Steed AAs for pallies/sks will cost 9 AAs, or at least it did in the beta. No change to the horse other than better graphics, and it'll cost 9 AAs.

I think Sony thought the jokes about new graphics costing something besides our patience were taken seriously.

Erm... it appears nobody actually tested our trap. At no point on beta was the trap actually a 5% dot increaser in my testing. Rytan mentioned it as a possibility, but couldn't code it. Our trap always was, and still is, a DoT of some sort unfortunately - unless of course they decide to put in the damage increaser straight to live or something. The DoT was not working properly last I tested and is supposed to be fixed by the time you log in to PoR.

Yes, that's what it said, you're right. That's not what it did though. We definately didn't get enough people actually testing this one, I'm still worried the last bugs I reported on it aren't going to be fixed before it goes live.

I played around with it and did notice some kind of damage. It found some greens and dragged them over it and fd'ed .. just to watch. I didn't spend much time with it at all tbh. It isn't something that really appeals to me.

I don't remember seeing dot damage messages, like "somethign has taken 440 damage from your spell". That makes me wonder if crits and focuses will apply. I'm guessing no, but again, I spent very little time with it.

If it acted like a dot that I cast, meaning I get the damage spam, focuses work, and crits happen, I might consider using it in groups...assuming the poofing stuff gets fixed and the range deal gets fixed.

I probably wouldn't use it in any situation that wasn't already trivial. Once you lay it down, it's just there. If the puller brings 3 or something my luck is that the dot hits one the chanter wants to mez. What am I gonna do? Shout "watch out for my trap!!!!!!!" ?

Shout "watch out for my trap!!!!!!!" ? You might be better served by shouting "They came from behind" and fding

Honestly, the craptacular range is probably because they figured we didn't want to break mez if a multi-pull happened. Which would blow. But it sucks right now, so...option between blowing and sucking...did this casual analysis not occur to anyone when they designed the spell?

Eh, it's fairly standard innuendo joke. It's been years since I've seen Spaceballs, I barely remember much of anything from it.

Edit - Should I have said that it blows so hard, it goes plaid?
