I am not sure if this has been posted so if I have duped anything...my bad..
As a necro, I have found no better loot and exp at the low 50's than Felwithe guards.
These are camped rather frequently and for good reason. They drop a 20pp sword, words, PP and gems every drop !!
These guards are the ones just inside the Felwithe zone line from Greater Faydark.
They are single pulls but are social if aggro'd guards are wandering towards them so keep them as close to the zone line as possible when fighting.
Guard Legver is a wanderer that moves toward the zone but none of the others do. Kill him first. They are Paladins so you will see a LOH but dont panic.
I mem, 49 pet, augment, your best health transfer spell, Splurt, bond of Death and Feign Death.
Pull with Splurt or Bond, run to the zone line and sic pet on him at zone line. Dot Guard with other Dot (depending on which you pulled wth : P) and then cast your health spell on pet. You can drain these guys or try to debuff but they are very Poison/ Disease resistant so i don't even bother.
There are 2 wandering guards, 2 at the front of the bridge and 2 behind the bridge. As long as you stay to the left near the Town Crier you can pull the other guards from the back without aggro on the Exterminator.
49 pet works very well as long as he is hasted and you are healing him with your transfer spell (bond should keep your health stable). Mend bones is worthless.
I get good AA at 56 and I have to gate to PoK often cuz I am encumbered with swords. I make about 2k a night killing these guys...
Check it out...once you get the hang of it...you will giggle uncontrolably through the lower 50's and your 1st 6 AA's
- Peace

Woot! Thanks man, can't wait to try this once i hit 49!
I'm 40 now, and the exp at plaguebones in DL isnt bad, we'll see how it goes.

definetly does sound like fun... little riskay going into a goodie town... but hey, you guys know that turns me on

I'm definately gonna try it out when I hit 49. If its worth the exp who cares, theres hardly ever anyone in Felwithe on SZ, and even if you get high lvls coming through youre right next to a zoneline, plus you could just as easily gate anyways...just gotta keep it on the DL that youre there.

If it weren't he's a High Elf I'd hunt them on my main. Tho I'm not really happy to try and solo with my mage. Only thing I solo with him anymore are hoppers in DSP. I need a few more hand made back packs.

being a 65 wiz and killing in felwithe i can tell you they resist a lot of my magic (agnarr) they also do LoH... if you bring a friend and if your not completely KoS have your friend keep guard fightin and you are getting hurt you can zone out and zone back in and they will heal you pretty much to full(gnomes thats highest possible faction with them... yes.. even after killin them for some good money) just a lil tip

Not sure I quite understood that Miltee. Are you saying that if I'm not KoS to the guards there, the NPC's will heal me? I am a gnome Necro so this does apply to me, would just like some clarification =)

When me and my 61ish mage buddy started killing these guys i was at like Ally or Warmly with the guards so when i pulled(cuzz im the wizzarrior) the guard my mage friend would sick pet and if i had aggro and had my ass handed to me i could zone out, zone in, and the guard turned his attention from killin the mage pet to healing me, course im a wiz, not a necro, so i dunno if it would work but i would imagin if you had good enough faction it would
Masta Milt
P.S. When i went to guard for heal i had lower HP, 20-30%ish so that might also make a different

I tried this with my shaman last night who is 52, (necro to low yet) and when I tried to pull the one on the left I got both the guards at the bridge.. can these be single pulled? is it because of my lvl? I pulled with my slow. any way I had to zone them and when I zoned back in a 56 bst was pulling them and he was able to single pull them... just curious. thanks.

I camped those guards....very nice once you split. Very very easy kills at 50 I just let pet tank and healed him with pact of shadow as needed. Left there after about 2 hours and after selling swords came up to about 500 plat or so.

Ive done these guards as well. I could never figure out how to single pull the two at the bridge, but the wandering ones are fun and they drop some nice pp gaining items. :-)
Someone said if you get way off to one side of the guard as far up/off onto the wall as possible you can single pull one....but havent tried it.

I don't know how to split them but I pull with nullify magic and sometimes they come one at a time. Sometimes they come together seems random. Tonight cleared the entire bridge walked past the exterminator no problem got close to the guards at the end and single pulled them. Camp them if you can guys great exp and loot.

Are the outer guards worth hunting?
Pull with a DoT...pref a Darkness line,
It's called FD pulling. You hit the one you want to pull with a DoT then when he's half way to your spot you FD. The DoTed one stays put..the one who isnt DoTed returns to his spot. then just stand up and kill the one you doted....timing is all it takes....Doesnt hurt to have Spell Haste also.

Yah that would be great if they didn't resist it. They resist alot of my spells most of the time I just get ignite blood and bond of death on them.

I was really excited about this idea so as soon as i read the post I ran down to Felwithe to give it a shot. 3 pets and 3 mana bars later, I have not been able to kill a single guard lol. At lvl 51 these guys are resisting almost every spell I cast. Not 1 time was I able to single pull or succesfully FD pull. They tear through my pet like wet paper and whats worse, when you do manage to land a DoT, the other guard comes along and heals! Maybe when I get a bit higher lvl I'll give this another try.

So do you just run around Felwithe slaughtering the guards and if so are the areas where other npcs will also assist the guards?

Im not sure what to tell you corn flake, i went from 51 to 52 easily here... I did what they said to do but ill say again here just to double state it... did you do it this way?
Pull with splurt
Bring back to near zone
Send pet on guard
Cast compact of shadow on pet
Cast bond of death on Guard
Med and recast pet heal when needed
keep pet buffed with augment death
you can lich and tap if you want to but its not really needed
Again, using this method i was able to take out the guards very easily and i only had to zone once during my stay there from 51 to 52... at 52 the exp isnt as great as 51 but its still alright...
And to tudaile, no you just take the ones near the zone... you can try the ones past the bridge but i find its easier just to take the 3 before the bridge and the wanderer...

this absolutely freaking rocks. I had the same problem at 51 of not being able to single pull or FD pull because of their strange pathing despite my dots. i gave it a break and honestly i got to 54 so fast i hadnt had a chance to try it again. But i could single pull at 54 =) it was like taking candy from a baby. i havent actually timed the spawn yet, but i can methodically wipe them out and kill faster then they can respawn. the delay isnt to bad and the xp is almost 1% a kill solid XP
i always lich when i have the health for it and the iksar regen lets me have the health alot =) im also pretty well outfitted : http://www.magelo.com/eq_view_profile.html?num=890354
but i believe i can safely assume i could still do this with much less equipment fairly easily. the guards will get low, LOH to full. of course splurt gets stronger the longer they live so no worries. if you have to bond your pet, tap them for more dps and to stabilize the xfer. even tho the 49 tap doestn quite match the 54 bond, i found the boost from shadowbond over shadow compact is very useful in keeping 49 pet alive. every once in a while you get a guard thats higher lvl then the avg and they get nasty for a minute or two.
theres two ways you can kill them = sitt on your arse while pet and dots work, bonding/tapping as needed. The guards will LOH, then have two heals from 25% back to 75%, then as theyre mana is depleted the heals drop down more. eventually then run oom turn tail and die.
-or-
The killing shot method. Load your two fastest casting DD (yes torbas venom blast even tho the mana efficieny rate is cruddy for our avg, its fast 600dd which is about 14-25% of their life bar depending on their lvl and if they had time to buff/you debuffed.) after their LOH which is inevitable, watch for them to drop to around 33%. they will begin to heal soon. either hit your DD what you feel is just before, or as soon as you see their spell graphic for the heal cast. if your lucky itll take em out. if you do it too soon and your pet doesnt stun they will get off the heal, but again you have another chance to drop them. this basically puts them down before they run oom. however theyre only going to go down so fast due to timer, so whatever you have the concentration for works just fine.
FD will always save your arse, have it up. root is a wonderful tool, use it wisely. there are too many spell tips to list, to say the least review this forum and pickup tips to play the class well, you will own for soloing.
ive also found lower lvl enchanters to be fun partners. they can slow guards debuff them, and more. the most useful part is that they can illusion themselves and sell to the vendors right there for max plat on the swords, eliminating the need for the quick gate trips back to pok. that is no hassle at all its just even faster that way. you can actually powerlevel any lower class thats will to take the faction hits here. mostly dark races/evil classes, but sometimes good races go rogue on their own kind, especially when you can make so much platinum so easily!
READ this forum and PLAY your class well. do not disgrace the dark powers you are provided. =) hope this helps someone

After spending quite a bit of time here is how i do it.
spells:
Bond of death
Nullify Magic
Augment Death
Pact of Shadows
Dooming Darkness
Splurt
Envenomed Bolt
Feign Death
Ok I pull with nullify see if I can get one of their buffs off. Then let them chase me to entrance then send pet (make sure pet is buffed with spirit armor and augment)then go with splurt followed by bond of death then hit pet with pact of shadow then back to target if they are dual wielding I'll try to land a bolt if they aren't I save the mana for another Bond. After that I sit and monitor pets health. Once they get down to 20 I hit with dooming darkness to make sure they stay put. Really very easy to kill between splurt and bond of death and pet damage they fall very very easily. Please give it a shot you can make so much money and great exp here its just insane.

gnecrosis , I saw your post about being half way to level 53 and having 2 AA's. FYI, AA experience is approx the equivalent of level 55 exp. This means that the higher you get, the easier it is to get AA. At level 61, I can easily accumulate AA that would have been much harder to get in my 50's. If I were you, I would dump 100% into exp until 60, then AA comes easy. FWIW..... :)

Are the outside guards the same as the ones in the City? Reason I ask is these guards resist the hell out of my spells at 51 everytime I try them. I burn too much mana for this to be efficient. Ran into this with BB dwarf guards as well.
I do not have mana or resist problems on other level apporpriate mobs
Xavier

The guards outside every city are buffed out the arse including resists. The ones inside the city are different. Take for example the guards inside oggok. At 56 they green as shit to me. But the ones at the front gate are dark blue still and resist the hell out of everything. There used to be a eq emulator thingy that actually allowed you to log on and give yourself whatever gear and so fourth. If you stand next to the city gate next to the guards the 2 of them will proceed to buff you like they buff themselves. This is where you learn sony is a bunch of cheating asses. One the felwilth guards cast sow. Thats right you heard me. They cast sow. Virtue, some druid season thingy. either way. By the time I was done with all thier buffs I had all 15 buff slots filled and 2k in hp's as a high elf paladin. The ones inside are designed to buff themselves with standard paladin buffs.

Your right, I was able to do the guards fine in the city. Respawn seems a bit slow though and I have to stick to wanders since I cant seem to split the pais on the bridges. Any ideas? Im level 51
I am a level 51 also and although I did not stay for very long I had no problem single pulling the guards at the bridge as long as I pulled the one on the left first. I also have an extended range item and was a max distance, again not sure if that make any difference. Like I said I was not there for a long time and may have just been very lucky but if you're pulling the right one first you might try this.

Hmm I was disapointed when I read your post but went ahead and checked the spawn. First guard I killed didn't have a weapon just some cheap stone then thought aww crap he was right but went ahead and killed the second of the guards and wouldn't you know it he dropped the sword then the third and so forth. They respawned fine after about an hour and half came out of there with about 460 plat and a bit of experience. Still a good spot at least on Xegony it is. Oh and for splitting them use screaming terror forgot to mention this before. I'm sure you all knew to use it as well just didn't think about it.

You want a fun fight? go take on the noob guard at the newb ramp in kelethin. Took me 17 minutes to kill the guard there with CoB and I was almost oom and I was having to lifetap bats etc around there just to beat him. It was an incredible fight. Lots of fun. Yes, I pet tanked him rather than agro kite. I didnt feel like running all over GFay kiting his butt.
I also tried to take out the Priest of Discord but didnt have much success. He nukes hard on my pet plus can cheal himself. He might be doable agro kiting him but if you do make sure your pet is sowed. I don't think I ever got a snare to stick.

on my old nec, I farmed this zone to no end.. I was makin around 1 k an hour or more there using chanter bot to sell for me with high charisma.. they are very resistant, even resisted the 60's dots.. usually the second go round of casts they dont resist tho.. Im not sure bout low 50's but I single pulled em with the snare dot spell lines, occasionally used a lowb who needed a few plats here n there to sell if I was feelin nice. when lich was takin its toll on my hps, theres some nice little noobie rodent rats running around all over the place, they re nice to tap from, coz it still gives you 800-850 hps (from tapping if you have the 62 or 63 tap forget which):) even tho they have 30 max hps to spare..
Used zek pet, which tanks em no problem and does nice damage so I didnt need much mana if at all to kill one, although.. sometimes I had 3 on me and had to kill em off one by one with taps.. If you have a mid 50's cleric a darkelf (preferred) so they dont cry about faction loss, they can most certainly pacify for easy single pulling if you are there for XP or duo for loots..
last thing to watch out for.. is the exterminator. he is a low lvl npc quest fekker who gives lowbies money for bringin em rat whiskers or something like that, but he has over 2 billion hps. I've actually killed him with a few raid friends in Oggok before, and it took us over an hour to kill him with uber dps.. even with my rogue, I backstabbed him for 32 k 5 times during the fight, and each 32 k backstab did 1% dmg. so needless to say, if you aggro him, run. He doesnt hit for anymore dmg than the guards do, regens faster than a fungi tunic and shammy regen buff and is a major thorn in your side if you get too close, and not worth the effort to kill even if u have a raid force, he drops only the same loots as guards do, we were just curious one day and mad at him coz he kept aggroing us makin us zone out.. btw, its kinda fun to venture a lil further in the town and wipe out the bankers, they re wimps :)

Just went and tried this spot today at lvl 49. Other then splitting the mobs I did not have too much trouble here. The hardest ones to split are the 2 on the other side of the bridge. The Experence was not too bad, nor was the loot, made about 1 gold exp in a 1hr or so and 400pp. Its do able at 49 just a bit ruff =).

I think I know what you did bro.. You took on the outer gate guards? The inner ones might resist snare, but they are dotable on the whole. You can also pet tank them ok long as you you help him out. The high level pets will smoke the inner guards... BUT.. the out guards are a totally different matter. They have a gazillion hitpoints ( I estimate they are about 150,000), hit for ~175 (this depends allot on class and ac.. but a 65 caster with good gear - me - can get hit up to ~175 so I know), are 100% resistant to snares, root, dots, nukes, etc.. and the only way to take them is to agro kite them or pet tank them (which I have done).
At 65.. it was all I could do to take on one noob guard at kelethin they are that bad. Do not mess with them at all unless you are 65 and just want a good long fight.

Dinged 50 and decided to try this. OMG I felt like I was cheating, these were so easy. Single pulls each time. Had to FD the first one. Only had 2 at once because of a repop on the way back.
They do heal themselves and very resistant to the snare otherwise all other dots stuck. I would pull with snare which 75% was resisted, run back, send in pet and throw on Bond of Death and Ignite Blood and sit down. Cast pact of Shadow on pet if needed.
Ended every battle with 100% life and about 75% mana. Cleared entire area before repops started but that gave me a bit of time to med between. Every one dropped a 2 handed sword which sold for 11pp. Some dropped and fine steel weapon and a low grade gem.

No, it's equivalent to level 51. If you group all the time then levelling to 65 first may make sense, but certainly I have no regrets about the time I spent getting RS3 and Regen3 at 55, even though I get AAs twice as fast now at 59: aggro kiting is so much easier when you never have to worry about losing SoW.

I happened on this little gold mine yesterday after reading this post... great find!!! btw...
Few notes...
The Exterminator spawns on the right side of the bridge... very small aggro, won't bother with you unless you walk right up to him. He never assists guards... (I thought I read that he's usually not there???)
He's easy enough to get past though... if you're having trouble with him aggroing on you, do this.
1. Root him (Very easy to land spells on, zero resists on me)
2. Get your victem past him (unlucky elf guard)
3. Screaming Terror him
4. FD (Might take a FD or two to blur him, but it works)
-- Even if you're pet is on him, root and pull the pet off... blur as normal
Like the other posters said, don't fight him... took me a bar of mana and 5mins of pet going apesh*t on him until I realized, "hey, he's still at 99%... wtf!"
PULLING the Rear Guards
Use line of sight... much like the guards in Seru, if they can't see you they won't aggro. Straif along the bridge edge until you see the guard clearly (either side), when that guard sees you he will aggro. As long as you run straight away, the other won't aggro... run straight at the Town Crier opposite of the Exterminator, he won't attack you and you won't get aggro from the Exterminator.
Just a few things I learned... and yes, the respawn was getting annoying, but the cash was very nice with a bit of exp...
