I'm still perfecting what you call the "pathing root".

It seems a slight change in elevation between you and the mob and they will sit still, providing you don't move.

Was working on getting some examples together to submit to the devs, here's one of my examples.

So far RCoD is the only zone I've done this in, at multiple spots, both in the slayer area and at DL/GS.

Neither my pet or the kyv would move, I'm sitting on the corner of the hallway, slightly elevated from the ground. Was a little overzelous blanking out names, but ah well.

also, if you run w/out lev over a change in elevation (ie a joint or step on the floor) the mobs pathing changes, if you run over it constantly while at least more than 3x mele range, you can get a mob to path over a small area and never get to you. Submitted several examples of this, but no response *shrug*.

I was playing with this yesterday in Takish-Hiz, and while I didn't find a place that mobs became permanently stuck in, I found quite a lot of loops I could get them paused in, especially with the elf-ish models. It did usually involve me getting up on a wall for a little elevation, and have the mob path over a slight dip in the ground on its way to me. It would then take the mob quite a few tries to get past the dip.

sverag towards the steps of the tower and even when pulling for ToB (great in case you get to many with a smallish group...) although i have no idea how to get it to work everytime. In theory i should find this obnoxious but it's kind of cool

and yeah it's almost always a change in elevation, of course it has drawbacks
