I just open with Dooming, pop a heat (boil next level hehe) blood, and then aggro kite him... fear is resisted since its still low level one, but aggro kiting without sow is easy enough, time to med to full in between, even without Allure usually.
Loot usually sucks a whole lot.
This is on my new untwinked necro, and he just laughs in his face... my old necro on my old account went from 27 or 8 I believe to 32 or so on this guy. no real harm in him, as long as you dont let him get close, and nowadays, he is never camped (except by me (Stromm), hehe.), good for some nonchalant, just kinda chilling, solo xp.

*edit* from 100% mana, you can darkness, boil blood, shock of poison, shock of poison, lifetap, and he is in flee mode. you are at ~40-60% mana and you have time and mana to up evo (ward undead on pet), or abj (minor shielding on self) for quite some time (2-4 mins) before you really need to start medding (in case something goes wrong) for the next fight.

good post, seems like a good camp. and youre aggro kiting at lvl 27, WOOT! this is all you do at higher levels so get used to it.


the big question im wondering tho is what zone is this???? would be a good thing to know :lol:

Doh, sorry there, was just adding it in as I was Xabann was mauling him =), felt like I was forgetting something.
Yeah, I used to have a mid 40s necro, I aggro kited with him a lot (why waste the mana on fear, and besides, its unpredictable!?), though I assume you are talking more or less of actually *higher* (i.e. 55+)... yah, I'm a newber - especially to all of this DoD, PoR, MM, Shrouds, etc... last thing I remember before I stopped playing the last time was AA's coming into their own, and I think some LDoN stuff (though I never did any, so I still am clueless as to what all this stuff is about - as a side note, anyone know a place I could find an FAQ on this stuff? Would be interested to learn about it...)
Anyway, yeah, Vhalen is easy death once you get dooming, I didn't have SoW or any speed altering spells the whole time last night, he never touched me once, not even on resists (which were few and far between.). Hell, it got so easy, all it was taking was Dooming, Heat Blood, Shock, Shock, Shock, then sit while pet drops him... Heat Blood was either finishing him, or had him ~0-5% before it faded... (and its only a 36 second spell lol!)
Another note on the loot: Minor gold upwards of almost 5pp... and always a silly wooden flute that you can run to the centaur merchants for 2g and change... like I said, not the place to be for loot, but I made 40pp yesterday off of him... not bad for almost no work or risk involved, you know?!
Sorry I am such a long poster - maybe it will be beneficial once I have some more experience behind me and can go on and on about other not so visited anymore camps. =)

Vhalen is still giving 4 ticks of a blue bubble at 30. tried the druids in WC, need more mana, me being untwinked and all, to take them efficiently, and more risk free, xp isnt quite as good, but guaranteed ~5pp a pop there, for each. Druids are a serious challenge at this point, will try in a few more levels, maybe next pet.

Of course "Invoke Fear" makes all this moot. You could kill them with a wet hanky (and a few DoTs.. *winks*).

My bad, yes, rangers. They are at the druid rings though, so oh well.
Invoke fear does make it easier - fear one, darkness other, fear, stack dots...
wait for fear on other to break, the repeat...
however, they murder my pet (dot him, hit hard, and root.) usually, or come close. Anyway, they are annoying... I cancel magic on the pet, but my mana pool usually isnt enough to do all that and take them both down at this point. Then there are the lovely resists and rooting me... I had the both feared (first to break camp, second to kill...)
Had everything going fine, Jebober and I are both rooted though, right at the rings...
I keep the one I am killing in target box...
3% and darkness wears off, my other dots were already gone, we are still rooted (with my abj skills I was afraid to Cancel, eating rest of mana and leaving me defenseless against the other one.), and I see his health jump up to 30% then 60%... the little )*&# healed! so prompty I was then assaulted from two sides of the circle - fear breaking on the other, and him making his way back, and the healed one now coming to exact his revenge... so yeah, another few levels for me =)...
(Gawd invoke fear is nice though! =)... )
