View Full Version : LDoN Raid Changes

The LDoN raids have been switched over from the old adventure system to the expedition system.

The major benefits to this include:
Being able to add new players at any point during the raid
The lockout for the raid occurs at the end after a success instead of the beginning

In addition, the player maximum has been increased from 36 to 54, and all death counter failure mechanics have been removed from the raids.

These changes are currently on Beta and Test.

There is the possibility that something important slipped through the cracks when switching the system over. If you've done the LDoN raids before and have any questions or feedback, or even if you haven't, let me know.

Thanks!

Think this will be enough to make them worth doing... at all?

In general, no, beyond the sense of accomplishment (the NRo one, Guardian of the Sands... or something like that, that was unbeaten til like 10-12 months ago). There's too many LDoN armor slot augs that drop (non-slot 4/7/8), and you'd be hard pressed to find many people who still wear gear from LDoN camps.

There are, however, some drops from LDoN raids that make them worthwhile to do. Some examples include:

-Valdoon has a 30AC aug (Type 8, I think) and a +backstab damage aug iirc.

-Honestly don't recall which raid, but there is one where clicky Burnout V boots for mages drop. May not seem all that great with better hastes, like the OoW one available, but the other components, coupled with Rathe's Strength Effect, actually will produce higher dps from mage pets over using the OoW haste alone.

----------------------

Too tired to look it up atm, but I believe at least one epic requires a LDoN raid at some point.

Rog epic has a ldon-zone raid, and so does Pally iirc.

I think it's a special instance though and not a true ldon raid.

I have no interest in doing any ldon raid unless some nice stuff drops from it, and what I've seen is not so nice.
