What question would you like to ask a developer about the necromancer class?
Every week (in the current form, but subject to change) each correspondent will be asking one question of the developers. The main questions I've been asking are basically about top ten issues and hotbutton issues. I will leave this thread stickied for a while, and I'll heavilly moderate it for anything that isn't a question or helpful. We can make discussion threads on individual issues, however this thread will merely serve as a reference for the correspondent in constructing the weekly question.
Remember there won't be polling or anything, but if I like your question, and especially if it isn't a "gimmee", SOE envy, or class envy orientated, it stands a decent chance of getting asked by me. Responses by the devs aren't guarenteed either, but I will continue to do my best in getting those answers.

I got 2: :)
1) When will willful death be fixed and made worth buying.
2) What is SOE's vision of the necromancer class, is it master of dot damage, if so is there any plan to make them master of dot damage (innate crits... destructive fury type aa's for dots)

I second that!

The classic arguement in these threads is two-fold. First, what is a genuine class issue? Some items in class top ten lists are deemed mere "gimmee" items by Kytherea and the devs, which is their explanation for why the top ten lists are receiving so little attention.
1a) Which items in our top 10 were 'gimmee' items to which the answer is a 'no'?
Having that answer would have allowed us to move to more reasonable things from the dev's perspective instead of sitting around for months wondering what the hell was going on, fuckers! (and I say that affectionately)
1b) How do you determine what a 'genuine class issue' is? If so many of our top 10 are 'gimmees' that we hear nothing for fucking months then clearly we have a very different idea of what constitutes a 'genuine class issue'. Please inform us so we can better articulate positions on things that have a snowball's chance in hell of being addressed, rather than ignored as a straight 'no' to which we're never informed.
2a) WTF does Kytherea have to do with anything relating to class balancing (outside of modding nerf threads after 20 pages, unless it's about Rogs)?
2b) Speaking of nerf threads, how about modding them all, the instant they are discovered?
------------------------------------
Ok so I'm just in a bad mood this morning, but if you remove the vulgar language the questions are serious.

< insert Joey Lawrence type "WOAH" here > Like settle down Beavis.. Willful death working better would be cool.
PoR spell re-write would be another.

Early morning multi-hour long meetings bother me :)
Yeah, a willful death that doesn't suck ass would be nice.
Now how do you know if that's not one of the 'gimmee' items that they won't touch, and just aren't telling us?

I don't see that happening :(
Devs already said that 'class items were not intended to be the best item for that slot in the zone/expansion' more or less.
But we can still ask and see if we get a reply in the next 6 months! :)

They said they'd look at them and consider upgrades. They've even been proposed already. Kytherea has forwarded it onto some designers a few times. I'm just wondering when we'll see any affect from all that work.

LMAO would negate the preservation!
What I talked to sauruman about was lack of mods, and the specialization mod changing to either conjuration or alteration(the latter being prefered..since it'd be more beneficial taking X% of 200(or so, I forget what the primary spec cap is then 100)
Specificially, spell shield, stun resist, avoidance or even improved dodge 3 or 4.
It *should* have regen and FT for eye candy, simply due to it being a necro item as well, but like /shrug.

I'll make the DP nec item the weekly question next week. However, I have asked the question 4 times officially in correspondent threads, some dedicated just to that issue, with good suggestions etc which Kytherea forwarded. It might be beating the dead horse, but they did specifically ask for input on that regard.

At what stage do you ask them what the point of having a class rep is when they won't even answer your questions on a private class rep board?
Is the illusion of progress so nescesary?
NOTE:
Technically we did get a few things we asked for in PoR, like an 'upgrade' to MW (which I didn't want) and which sucked, but was later altered to be a little better, though I still don't want it...

Seeing as the silk cap in the zone has ID4 on it already, not a whole lot of point in putting it on another item, and there's always the Last Blood option for that effect (or ID3 rather) if people don't want the silk cap. Three biggest things I'd like to see are Spell Shield, Dot Shielding, and Stun Resist. If we can have only 2 of the 3, then I'd like to see the spell/dot shielding, stun resist is a little easier to get in general.

"- Bane of Muram and Curse of Muram now last 18 and 36 seconds respectively."
1) Why were these very rare item's clicky's nerfed after nearly 2 years of functioning as it?
2) Will you please put it back the way it was, you fuckers?

When we had a top ten list I never thought this merited a place on it, but if it is a weekly question...
Can necromancers on blue servers gain the PvP capabiliities of necros on Zek? Currently ALL spells with any sort of recourse do not work in PvP, which is severely debilitating.
Lifeburn
Lifetap DoTs
Call for Blood
Mind wrack/Mind Flay
all don't work...
The only reason ever given was because of an exploit where necros on raids could duel and MW each other. There must be some other solution to this. Even if we had to lose that spell entirely (which would be too bad, when it lands its nice to drain a little mana) that would still be fine if we could use lifeburn and tap dots - both of which are crucial to good PvP on a necro.

Like you could land mindwrack/flay on a raid geared necromancer nowadays anyway...That "exploit" was fixed through natural progression of the game.
IF a necro debuffed himself enough for it to land *consistently* They'd be absolutely shredded by any ae in current content.
