That is a tough question; progression server is starting up, Where to start a DE newb?
In Nektolos Is my first choice; Venture a guess and say "east commons" next?.
Uuu'm Lavastorm, near zone. After that, befallen in EC. Maybe not.

What do you really want? LvL 70 in a week, or know your character very well?

It is summer, schools out; for 6 years i've seen this in game, no problem here though. Just make sure what you want...

Ever play before?; Have a clue what yuou want? Know what you're getting into?

How can we answer such a vague question? I myself, Prefer knowing my char. I solo no matter the circumstance.. Other folks, Group/ raid, thats what they love.

If you're serious, you'll answer back and explain more. Folks here will have answers, but please don't waste there time... they will roast you and I will join in....

Ty much :) but Could you Let me know some tips about an Enchanter?

I also prefer to know my class before anything.....i have researched the enchanter class for well over a week now and it sounds like fun class (i am a veteran of eq)

--- Tips like if i should try to find items With INT + CHA on them?
--- Should i replace a 50+ CHA item with a Festive doll?

Most important stat for an enchanter is HP. Out of mana is a bad situation granted. But out of HP is usually not recoverable. And you will get hit alot! ;)

If you want to charm solo than up your CHA too but more important for charm is MR debuff. And that you'll get as a spell.

When you are more into grouping - learn to target and switch between mutliple targets. Casting a mezz isn't something of an art. But aquiring a target fast is! Especially if it isn't the mob the group should assist on. Experiment with F8(bind it to a more accessible key though). Tanks push mobs. So if you stay behind a tank you'll get a mob that isn't tanked in your target with F8 for example. Cram yourself in corners or try to stand at least with your back to a wall etc. But beyond all - have fun! :P

Oh and I'd recommend another board. The runes (http://www.therunes.net/) might be better to ask that question. :P

I took my chanter alt to Paludal at level 5: something like a yellow and a half of XP per kill on the low-level side with yellow-con beetle things. Basically just tanked the mobs and pulled back to let the pat take some hits if I was getting low.

By 12 though, they couldn't really tank anymore, even with maxed-out defence... took way too long to regen between fights. Slow and pet tanking or charm killing worked better by then.

Never got them up to 24, I should probably do that sometime :).

Best tip I can give you: don't play one.

They used to be (some sick sort of) fun around Luclin time, maybe PoP and some very selected cases in GoD, but during and after that, anything remotely 'fun' about them has been nerfed into oblivion and they're basically kei buff bots.

Anything that they could really shine in can be done as good or better by other classes -or worst case some potions- now.

True. The post-PoP trend towards zones that can be single pulled or are full of trash that will kill the average non-raiding silk wearer in one round, combined with the nerfing of charm, makes chanters kind of obsolete... they now seem to be relegated to being a DPS class with sucky DPS.

Even if newer expansions went back to having to deal with six mobs at a time, there's no way an averagely-geared chanter could control five mobs that quad for 1500+ a hit. Mudflation has made them increasingly impossible to fix.

Cachet was my worst geared troop.. and a lot of fun. And died the most.. by a large factor.

Recent expansions seemed more friendly to "in camp crowd control".. Gates and Omens were the worst. How many times it went "cast mez. resist. one rounded."

If you were going to play on one of the Progression Servers.. might be a fun choice. Charm soloing will be viable for a long time. The "charm nerf" really happens in Omens, although very little is charmable in Gates (nothing post Tipt?). Even with later charm spells.. so many Gates mobs are tagged "uncharmable".

As I have written my Enchanter mentor playing a barely 65 Cachet (with < 50 AA) was noticably outkilling a 67/250 Felicite in HoH, Drunder and the like. It was not an "I win" button.. it took concentration and discipline to not get stomped on charm breaks. But it looked like a helluva lotta fun.

You get to play what you like.. it's your quarter in the machine.

Tyvm all for info.... I have also recently thought about making a character on the progression server.....Sounds like fun :)
But that still doesnt answer one question....Should i replace a 50+ CHA item with a festive doll?( 15 str 15 dex 15 agi 15 int 15 cha 15 wis) <_<

Also - Nice magelos Felicite :) :P B) :D
