Friend emailed me once the link posted in game. Dunno how long. Thought everybody should know :)
(If this post isn't supposed to be here go ahead and move it. Thought in EQ news it would fit :-) )

heh, yay for locking everyone out that doesn't work next to a PC. They even waited until after lunch for EST folks...At least Antonius Bale will be well represented!

I love it that they do it in game in the middle of the week when hardly anybody is on. very helpful ;)

the best part is that they started announcing in-game that it was open like an hour or so before they updated the website, heh. oops!

Horrid. I don't actually try to play EQ over it.
I just went ahead and did the beta download.

Having never done the beta testing before, and would like to help, I am looking for advice on how to get my necro copied into beta. Can that actually be done? Any other things I need to know heading into Beta that would be helpful?
Thank you in advance.

First log on to your normal server and type /beta. Whatever toon you're logged in as will then be copied over to the Beta server... soonish.

it sounds like they have invited mroe guidls that normal.
so they only need to open beta this early to hours were most US guilds are not being active...

doubtfull, you're just hearing about who's invited now where as before guilds weren't so open about it.
Then again, it is a large expansion. I'd be hard pressed to believe that they have more now then in OoW though. GoD and DoN didn't have a lot of content for lower levels. They also were fairly specific for raid progression (IE you had to have a large raid force of atleast partially skilled and geared people for them).
TSS has a lot of lower content and two or so raid zones (from their press releases). That'd take more people, not necessarily more guilds though.

Note: /spell only really works when you are the level for the spell. So, you'll need to level up, or wait until they /betabuff for higher levels, and do /spell.

I was wondering. I was on game when this was announced.
Reading and posting on the remove sauramon thread; How many folks signed up?
Sauromon said; if you want change, sign up. How many did and DO NOT hide behind that shield; it'll break beta.... After all we are SUBJECT TO DISCLOSURE.
BS; make up a name and tell us if you signed up.....
Otherwise Sauromon was right. I'm real curious about Hangman and that Test guy in particular. Did you sign up Aryse or Jeb? Did anyone that bitched sign up?
I never; i'd probably do a worse job than him. Admitted in public. ......

What VNC software did you use? I can not move or click buttons when using UltraVNC. I can never get past the Accept or Decline option on the EULA.

That's a complete and total BS line. I said over and over - I was in beta last time, and I watched him completely sabotage our class. I watched him argue against every change and improvement to the spells necros were asking for. What the fuck is he doing talking about this next beta. There are a lot of us who have BEEN THERE, DONE THAT and we are unhappy with what happened then. A lot of us didn't even want the risk of a possible repeat of what he did last time. For the last beta, we would have been way WAY better off if Sauruman wasn't in it. Tell me exactly WTF that has to do with if people sign up for beta or not (except how many eyes we have watching him sabotage us this time).
The problem isn't people not signing up for beta and asking for change. Its that our CC was sitting there arguing against us and trying to convince necros they wanted the spells exactly as they were handed to us. BULLSHIT. None of this has anything to do with people not signing up for beta and/or not trying to get change when they were there. He was the one preventing change, when we were asking for it! What, he wants us to go and sign up so he can cockblock us again?
He probably just hopes he won't screw it up bad this time and will have witnesses to him not fucking up brutally. I've got my fingers crossed but do not have high hopes.

Just my 2cp.
I saw with my own eyes Saur's post. It was in that beta ( i can say that because POR NDA was lifted) and had access to the beta boards. IMO Saur's post did result in the spell being removed. his post used HIGHLY situational sets of events and the resulting " overpowered" effect was very unlikely to happen on more then a few occations.

Well the refresh rate basically sucks on it. I move and about 10 secs later I see it move around. I'll look it up when i get home but I think it's the lite version. Thats prolly why to be honest. I can do things just the refresh rate sucks
