level 15 necro having money trouble

Okay, my necro reached level 15, and was finally able to afford first level 12 spell. Now i have to get money for level 16 spells, AHHHH, i don't even have a level 12 pet, still using level 8 pet. I REALLY need some places low level, i am seriously hindered by not being able to pony up the 21 plat for level 12 pet so i can only use level 8 guy.

What server are you on?

-I loot everything and sell it. Tedious, I know, but it helps. Get bone chips and sell them in Baz. Same with hides for anyone working tradeskills.

- I got 1000 plat 1x from someone in POK wanting elf meat. I used the stone to Felewith, killed the elf bandits, got the meat and ran back. 1k richer!

- buy the spells you *need*, not all of them. I never bought an evoke spell until I was in my 30s *shrug*

- Find a camp that works for you and farm it. There are some nice lowbie quests now that reward plat as well as exp. I did them on my level 6 untwinked monk about 3 months ago.

I play on EQmac, i do loot pretty much everything i find, except for the occasional item that sells for like one copper. unfortunatly selling anything in bazaar on EQmac is a huge pain in the butt so i was thinking about taking up your suggestion and camping stuff. I can't think of anywhere in a open zone that i can camp though all the places i can think of are like outside crushbone, or blackburrow. Got any sugggestions, it needs to be in open are so i can kite as i do not have strong pet.

i would head to field of bones
when land from the pok book......in that general area keep an eye out for decaying skeli's
seen some every now and then have a shield that will sell for a lil over 1 plat
or carrying various weapons
then snag your pet spell and hit kurns tower
is pretty good spot for your level full of skeli's
will get more bone chips than you can carry lol

also another decent spot is the warrens
keep a darkness spell loaded to help prevent run offs
can get hairy quick in there for lower levels
but the kobolds drop bronze weapons and various wicker armor sells for a decent price
kill enough kobolds can get a key for paineel off the guard.....do your selling in there
once faction good enough......can collect the teeth the kobolds drop and turn them in for armour that sells for 1 to 3 plat each min. forget what type armor it is tho cuz it has been a while lol

Go to West Karana. At the small village on your left from zone in from Qeynos Hills, there is a bard named Misty Storyswapper. She's good ex until 18, drops a lute every time that sells for a plat, and other crap as well. On a 6 min timer. Not ultra oober or anything, but good steady money.

Actually EQmac is doing pretty well, just the right balance of players. I enjoy it more than i did playing pc, people are much nicer and more willing to help. Anyways a kind soul gave me a few plat so i was able to get level 12 pet and level 12 DoT's. I went over to PC and am currently soloing second camp. Pretty good plat there, average i think is like 1-3 each, not to mention the exp. So now i have 80 plat and almost to level 16.

Glad to hear. I thought they were not allowing new accounts. I read somewhere that you could not buy/download the software anymore. I guess that post was incorrect or things have changed.

Wisp in WC for greater light stones which you can turn in to merchant in gypsie camp in NK or Oasis for book which you sell back for i think 10pp a pop. Kodiaks also good for HQ hides which i'd suggest you have a tailor make into some backpacks for you for wt reduction.

When wisp start going green move to OOT and hunt Garg island for their eye drops.

When gargs go LB move to Unrest 2nd floor for fine steel weaps, bone chips, and some defensive skill ups as by the time you leave here the mobs will start hitting harder and you wont have many chances to work it after 30.

30ish kill guards at the wall in Misty Thicket for their spears which sell for over 10pp each. Wt reduction bags will be handy here. Should be 3 at the hole in the wall, avoid first tower right there as those 2 have massive magic resist and are higher in lvl, further down the wall is another tower with single gaurd you can kill and there is gaurd on top of the wall on the other end you can pull so should have 5 total you can pull in your rotation.

Ahh the memmories of Misty... back in the day when I farmed this there was no PoK so I actually farmed fac for RunnyEye so I could bank there.

-the sabertooth tiger/tigresses in OT drop a tooth that seells to vendors for 1plat+.
-cockatrice beal seels for over 1 plat too.

-get spider silks - east karanas is still good for them. Sell to tradeskills people

I found a bard buying spiderling silks for 50 plat a stack so I started farming spiderling in ECommons, are there any better places for spiderlings? Another nice person gave me 500 plat when i was transferring some crude bronze ore to my bard. Of course 500 plat on EQmac is like 1000 on PC because everyone in Bazaar drops their price by half when you try to bargain with them.

Create a new toon on the same server. KEEP THIS TOON UNDER LVL 15 !! Then, as you play yourself up to lvl 13 or 14 in FoB, NEVER CHANGE YOUR SOUL BIND SPOT !! the reason for this is that once you leave the mines, you can't return, there's no portal. but if you never changed your bind point, you can gate back in.

When you need plat, log on the low lvl necro and head for ruga. kill all warriors and camp, you'll get spiritweavers and pleaguebearers which each have a staff that sells for 3 plat per in the camp. you can make 100 pp in about 2 hours. Put it in your shared bank and your higher lvl necro can get the platt he needs for spells.

Just an FYI about the mines. If you are above level 11 (iirc) and have Gloomingdeep set as your bind point, you will be automatically zoned to PoK upon returning to your bind. I tried this recently with my new lil monk. He was 15 and died, zoned to the Mines and was re-ported to PoK within a couple seconds autmatically due to level.
