Okay, heres the situation...

I was making an SK twink, and I asked my guild leader if there was any SK equipment i could borrow. So she says, sure and she says i can borrow the guildbank's Shard of night! Awesome fast piercer...so I go to meet her in bank and she gives me that and a few other crappy items....

Well so I put one of the crappy items in the bank...I think it was in my curser but i dont remember. And go to look through the rest of my stuff...and the shard is not there.

Turns out I had full inventory and it fell on the ground and somone took it.

So, now I have to tell my guildleader that its gone, and that I will get it back.

I asked in channel if theres a way to get GMs to get it back for me, some said no, some said tell them it dissappeared.

I'm looking for somone who has done this before(got an item they lost back from a GM)....Whats should I tell them? I dont mind lying to a GM to get this item back, I'll say it magically dissappeared, whatever will get it back so I dont lose alot of friends on my server.

Please help! what should I tell the GMs??

Had an earring disappear once when I died in Lower Guk....told GM and he said he'd review it.....gave me a new one about 5 hours later as I was waiting for a Rez in CoM.

I dont mind lying to a GM to get this item back, I'll say it magically dissappeared, whatever will get it back so I dont lose alot of friends on my server.

They can (and do) check logs when you've lost an item. Best bet is to be honest (ie, you're not sure what happened, you think you either gave it to the banker or dropped it on the ground.) If you lie to a GM, they'll make a "soulmark" on your account. Future petitions may be regarded in a wholly different light than what you'd like.

Most GMs will verify the item's gone and return it.

If you get an answer you don't like, wait a day and try again.

Be patient, be polite, and if a GM says he/she cannot help, ask for a Lead GM, or GM-Admin (who can actually restore the item).

It couldn't hurt to follow the labyrinth of links to get to the server GM and send an email. I have had excellent encounters with GMs when it came to lost items (cash given to banker, destroyed circlet of shadow).

Again, above all, do not lie.

The only problem I could see is this: You never actually had the Shard of Night. She gave you stuff, and this dropped to the ground. I'd do this: I'd petition and say she was giving this item to me and I didn't get it, and have HER petition at the same time, saying it was being given to you and you didn't receive it.

With all the spam in the bazaar, it's damned easy to miss a "dropped to the ground" message.

Had a friend get an item - no room to store it so he runs to the bank - clicks on door clicks on banker..

Item was gone.. search, double searched and asked around.

Did a /pettion and it was in his inventory the next day.

Just ask. Can't hurt.

And also, check on your petition constantly, they delete them all the time without responding. And don't be afraid to petition the same issue more than once if you weren't satisfied with how the discussion went the first time. Some of the GMs are just idiots and some are great. Good luck to you on finding one on Sullon either way...
Actually, try late Friday night at about 3am PST, there were actually 3 online within an hour once, and that's the only time I've ever seen them on our server. Don't know if that is regular or just a fluke, but probably worth checking.
