Hey all I was wondering if anyone knows anything about the befallen bridle quest?
If so could you give me some tips on how to do it please. As I can't afford to buy a horse so I need to do this quest.

Keep killing the excavators until the mob spawns at the end of the first room in befallen. Then there's some complex conversaqtion you have to go through, and I've forgotten the details...
Note that it's a one-use bridle, and the guy is a relatively rare spawn.

This item: Bridle of Sir Ariam (http://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?item=16180), result of the quest, has only one charge....
Not telling you not to do quest but is it worth it for a single use horse?

Yes, yes it is. I really wasn't sure whether I wanted (or needed) one. Getting the glue factory candidate that this quest provides reminded me just how self-sufficient necromancers truly are.
If you're debating, this seems to be a better option than plunking down cash only to find you don't want the darn thing.

I'm gonna try this single charge bridle mainly because I want to make sure that I look elite on a horse B)

· In Befallen, there are a few skeletal excavators working near the entrance. Killing these eventually spawns "skeletal foreman", or, since so few people hunt there, he may be spawned already when you enter. He's slightly harder than other first floor mobs, but only slighty; anyone capable of handling Befallen should be able to take him down. Upon his death, Sir Ariam Arcanum spawns in the back of the first floor "lobby", as a "shadowed man", or simply a name hanging in mid-air.
You say 'Hail, Sir Ariam Arcanum'
Sir Ariam Arcanum says 'My thanks for destroying these minions of Befallen's masters'
Sir Ariam's form suddenly contorts in agony. 'This accursed place rends my soul trying to twist me to its purposes. My time here is short.''
You say 'I sense a deep pain within you, ghost. Is there some way I might assist you so that you may find eternal rest?'
(How very perceptive of you! They expect all of that typed flawlessly. If it is, he will begin telling his story. Read it if you like, we're going to skip to the goodies.)
You say 'I will perform any task that will cleanse this place.'
(Saying that is optional. If you know his reply, you may skip to the next command.)
Sir Ariam Arcanum says 'I have this parchment that must be delivered to either the Knights of Truth in Freeport or to the Queen of Neriak. The contents of the note concern them both and I am desperate to have this matter addressed so ask that you take it to which ever of the cities will accept your presence. Will you take the note to the ?'
· You say, 'knights of truth'
Sir Ariam Arcanum says 'It must be delivered to Sir Artanis in the city of Freeport. It details a terrible plan of the masters of this place to restore life to a foul necromancer named Marnek. The Burning Dead must not be allowed to achieve this goal. So that you may ride swiftly with news of this nefarious scheme, take this as well, the bridle to the noble steed that was entombed alive with me here. He has strength enough for one final ride.'
Here you obtain a Ghostly Bridle, a horse indeed, but this bridle is NORENT, and will disappear if you camp. Continue if you'd like to remove the NORENT tag from it.
Head to Freeport (or Neriak, if you chose "The Dead") and find Sir Artanis.
Give Sir Artanis the bridle.
Sir Artanis says 'It was a fine and valiant steed to serve its master beyond the grave, but it looks to be near its end. But I have a fine eye for horses, and I dare say it will serve you one more time.'
You receive: Bridle of Sir Ariam.
Alternately, you can choose the Neriak hand-in, if that better suits your faction, and the reward will be the same. Keep in mind that the Ghostly Bridle is a different item entirely from the Bridle of Sir Ariam; therefore once you obtain the Bridle of Sir Ariam, you may return to Befallen and get another Ghostly Bridle before you go hunting. This will allow you to have 2 charges of Summon Horse ready for each hunting session, absolutely free! This is the slowest type of horse, faster than running but slower than JBoots, however it allows you to med while casting and med without sit aggro. A horse of this speed and color, bought in bazaar, would cost nearly 9,000 platinum! This horse, once summoned, will remain with you, even if you zone, in all outdoor zones where horses are allowed; until you dismount or click it off.
Enjoy the ride!

Here's a neat little quest called 'Farm some Ice Giants for 3 days, and buy a Horse that you don't have to bust your ass to quest for everytime you accidentally happen to zone into an area marked 'Indoors'. '
Step 1) Go to Everfrost.
Step 2) Go to the Ice Giants.
Step 3) Bind at Ice Giants.
Step 4) Kill them for 2 hours. Acquire 600pp in cash, plus sellable items.
Step 5) Cast Levant.
Step 6) Sell and bank in PoK.
Step 7) Cast Gate.
Step 8) See Step 4.

This will provide around 3,000 to 4,000 platinum a day in cold, hard cash, as well as dark blue AA experience up til about Level 55 or so.
If I ever heard of anyone running this quest when Ice Giants was a valid option, and they were within level-range of me, I would corpse-camp them mercilessly.

Turning lvl 35 hopefully tonight...Ice giants would wipe me atm...
I did the quest once to see if a horse is something I'd like and I've been saving so far. I plan on hitting up the giants as soon as I can...what is the earliest level you could get by and kill the giants?
