View Full Version : lvl 51 soloing, where at?
I've looked over several posts and guides on where to lvl at 51, but i would still like some more opinions, seems the places i have tried are dissapointing. I've tried guards in felwithe; great loot but exp is slightly slow, not sure if this is normal or if i should be able to find faster elsewhere; lower guk, ive done the magi camp and frenzied but exp is also slow, about 8 kills per blue. People have told me LDON is great exp, and when i have the time i do get groups for that, but lately i cant stay logged in for more than an or so hour due to happenings in the real world.
Could anyone give me suggestions as where to solo so i can get good exp and lvl somewhat quickly? I just got the spells splurt and envenomed bolt, i have the skills to solo im just lacking the knowledge of a good place to do it. thanks.

Dulak Harbor
Try to get The Stormwave or Lady Dirulia ship. Easy single pulls, good exp, and nice gems. If the ships are camped get on a list and hunt the yard trash, armory, treasury, etc... while you wait.
Hope this helps.

My suggestion is to go to High Hold Keep(if it's not camped, not likely), go up to 2nd floor, summon 49 pet, kill all the guards on ur way up. once u at 2nd floor, there's a room on the right side, there should be 2 bards, and Isabella in there.
Isabella should con indifferent or dubious, anyways she won't bother u. Now root one of the bards. The other one will run for u to attack u, send pet on him/her, slap an Insidius Retrogression on it, then Fear, bond of death. Sit and med, when fear goes, bard will be dead or fleeing mode. Now slap insidius retrogression on 2nd bard, wait till root breaks, send pet, fear, bond of death or Venom of snake, sit and med. Now do the same w/ Isabella. Now go to the left hallway, u'll see another room w/ 2 nobles and 3 merchants. Merchants are on their own faction, they won't aggro u. Root one of the nobles, send pet on the other noble, slap insidius retrogression, fear, bond of death, sit and med. Repeat same shit on other noble when first noble is dead. Sit and med until Isabella spawns again.
Isabella, Nobles are 6min spawn
Bards are 26/29 mins spawn
all gives 1-2% a kill. WHAT DOES THIS MEAN? this means 3 percent every 6mins from isabella and nobles, 4% from bards every hour.
Let's do the math, 3% * 60mins/6 = 30% + 4% from bards 34% an hour. There no other fuckin camp that'll give that much experience!
If you have extra mana, go up to 2nd floor find the room with another noble inside, he also has a PH who is a gnome.
Kill guards on down time, sell fine steel weapons to the Enchanter merchant on first floor, you can even bank here in the basement. What more can u ask? a lvl every 3 hours from lvl 51 to 53, hours from 53 to 54, 5-6hours at lvl 55. Trust me u can't get better than 5-6 hours to ding 55.
If HHK is camped................
go to page 2 and read the blood raven guide in PON, fear kite that shit.
Now you might go Why da FUCK do I wanna kill blood ravens instead of the trees/spiders or POD rats/flies/lightcrawlers? Because at 55, everything I just listed gives 1% a kill, you can get adds, u can die, u can't fear. Blood Ravens are steady easy experience, remember dying = 15+ mins w/ zero experience waiting for a cleric to rez your ass and u lose plats on donations. So why not go kill frogs at POS or Shit in POV? Because u got some shitty ass dots trying to kill stuff w/ 20k+ hp, ur lame ass dooming darkness resist like a mofo on red mobs, it takes you over 10+ mins to kill one, u get 2-3% a kill, you die often, if you don't believe me go try it. Blood Ravens are the way to go, nice steady experience w/ zero risk.
Now Blood Raven are the suck 1% a kill, takes me 6mins each w/ med time. That's 12% an hour, yep u got it right 9+ hours a ding, good luck. If I were you, even if HHK is camped, I would get on the waiting list. Everywhere else besides HHK sucks from 49-55. Once u leave HHK at 55, you would be crying about how slow experience is, good luck.

Keep those lvl 51 ideas coming in plz (51 necro here). Is it me or did they nerf the xp for the bards and nobles in HHK? I did Isabella 3x, bards 2x, nobles 3x and got like 1.5 blue. Is this the great xp I keep reading about? Not to be sarcasticc, but the xp in Dulak was faster killin light and dark blues just past the entrance.. The xp was pretty good (and easy) in cobalt scar, but takes forever to find a port there.
Anyone feel like writing a lil guide for the boats meantioned in Dulak (where to start pulling, when to fear them)
Thx

Screw porting to CS man. You can get there yourself. Go to great divide and follow the river in the middle of the zone all the way to the south, at the end you will see a tiny castle or "dollhouse" as it is commonly referred to as. Put gather shadows up and then click it. *POOF* You are now in Plane of Mischief. Without moving, you will be facing a forest. Click on the trees (they will be out of your reach, don't worry) until you click on one that tells you "you can't reach that, get closer". This tree is the port in to CS. You zone in underwater slightly but that is no prob, you come up fast or if you are a bad swimmer you can throw DMF on before you go. Swim to the beach and gate back home when you done killing the wyverns.
I had similar experiences with HHK. I do believe the experience is nerfed now, but is an easy place to farm some quick plat from all the FS weapon drops from the green con guards.

Thx for the CS directions, worked great. Boy those wyvem drop fast. If it helps anyone else who reads the post, the PoM port in GD is at the the very end of the river (south)

I did Dulak till 54. At 51 you are going to want to try and get the Lady D, as it has just the right number of mobs to finish the boat before everything repops. The first boat (Stormwave) has less mobs and you'll need to pull mobs from the town onto the dock to keep the XP flowing.
The 3rd boat (Dandolek) has mobs with much higher HP, and I didn't notice much of an XP bonus to them. I only did Dandolek if Storm and Lady D were camped. Doing the boats fear kiting is extremely easy, here's what you'll want to do on the Lady D:
1) Kill the gnome on the dock, I prefer to pet tank him with a DoT thrown in.
2) Kill the Troll fisherman. Can pet tank or fear kite if you want. Pull him with darkness to the end of the dock, EBolt, then fear and set pet. He will not make it to the ship before he dies, so you won't aggro that mob.
3) Kill the mob right before the ramp to the ship...can pet tank or fear kite. Darkness, send pet, let pet get aggro, get behind him and fear him up towards the shore. EBolt if you get tired of waiting for pet alone to kill. Note that sometimes Vurag spawns here, an Ogre who drops a 21% haste item. He has about double the HP of a normal boat mob, so just throw on an extra dot or two. Sells for about 2.5k in bazaar.
4) Climb up onto the boat and go just to the left by the crates. People have differing ideas on which order to pull them in, so it is up to you. I pull the guy closest to the ramp first..Darkness, fear, send pet, ebolt. If you have mage pet weapons eBolt runs out when they are 10-20% and let pet finish them as they are in the deathwalk. Fearing them makes them trot off the boat, down the ramp, onto the dock walking towards the shore.
5) I generally pull the bottom of the boat first, working from the middle to the front. The captain spawns up near the front on occasion and drops the Sea Worn Ring (+30s to hp/mana). Just has some extra HP, nothing special.
6) Then go up the ramp to the top deck. There's a mob you'll want to pull first that is on the wall in the area between the 2 upper deck ramps. Pull him first or else he can add.
7) Pull other 3 top deck mobs down and fear them off the boat.
8) Run up to the front of the dock and wait to start the cycle all over again.
You won't get any adds here and the mobs drop gems on occasion. Also drop weapons worth 4-5pp, bring weight reducing bags or just let them rot. If you need the cash get a Fo7 or Str Buff before you go so you can carry them back. Having a mount helps here with mana regen so you can cast while sitting, without a mount I am usually down to 20-25% mana after doing 2 boat clearings, with the mount I am FM after every clearing. You should net around 1-2k pp per playing session (3-4 hrs).
I stayed there way too long (until 54) and I got sick of it. It is decent xp and great loot, but incredibly boring...incredibly. Just about the easiest killing you can do at this level. At 54 the xp tapers off and it's time to head for the planes. I've seen some people stay until 56, but I don't see how they stay awake...at 54 I wanted to cry because it was so boring. Was there from 47-54. Until 49 I doubled up on the DoTs, with EBolt you usually don't need another DoT on the first 2 boats.

Forgot to mention the XP...51-52 I was getting about 20% per hour. Pretty comparable..actually a bit better than PoN ravens and zero risk with good loot. That's with Iksar xp penalty. 52-53+ was less, about 15% per hour perhaps. I brought a Shaman friend who was in his late 40s and he was getting about 30-40% per hour when we grouped.

Heh i was 51 seems a long time ago.
I solod burning woods giants.. xp seemed ok but it was a loooong time ago. Fear kiting the giants is easy enough and at 53 u get to play with the backstabbing pet.
Its fairly uneventful and pretty boring but at 51 the giants will be constant kills.
