OK here's the deal
Some friends and I have created a guild and are now thinking about starting to do raids. Not POP raids, old world zones and MOB's. The problem is while we have played for quite some time, none of us has ever done any raiding on a regular basis and are wondering what would be a good zone or MOB to do a "starter raid".
Thanx in advance :D .

-Lord Bob in Velks.
-SoL in Greig's End
-Epic mobs (VS, Fay, Ragefire etc)
-Dragons in EJ, WL, SF, DL (more of an OTM type mob)
-Follow the gnome quest in CT.
-Reaver raid in CoM. Multi spawns are a blast.
-Get everyone keyed for Howling Stones and do a dungeon crawl there.
-Hate's Fury is fun, named mobs spawn a lot. Tough to get a raid out there tho. Someone will die and/or cause a train on the way there due to invis falling or the one mob by the HF zone in Nadox who sees IVU.
-Nurga is a nice option now.
-The Hole is nice. Used to be one of my favorite zones to raid in.
-PoF and PoSky are nice raid zones to practice technique and for newbie raiders to learn how to pay attenion or you will wipe your entire raid. :)
K, that's all I can think of right now.

Ssyruk, what is the average level and make up of your guild? That might help out with deciding where you head out. If you are low enough, a good ol'Naggy/Vox raid is always fun. hehe.
Otherwise, the others listed would be fun. Tower of Frozen Shadows might be neat for a lower guild to work their way to the top.

Please don't take this the wrong way, but from DAY 1 there wasn't much raid content EVER for people below 50. Sure if you had a GREAT group or 2 you could do king and frenzy in lguk, or some of the named in solb, but if your not mid-upper 50s to 60+ your options are going to be severly limited. Not that there isn't things to raid, The kly overseer in kunark would be ok for upper 40's raid, the thing is, with today's loot rich bazaar environment there isn't much reward for doing much of anything like that.
You could probably set up some of the earlier epic camps and get those drops and exp while your there, but that's not the raid setting your probably looking for. The most Ideal thing I would think (I haven't been in your position) would be to level to 55+ and raid the kael arena, the bps and legs are nice armors, and there's a variety of mobs, alot of warriors, but a few that heal and gate...it'll help you work together and provide a good foundation for following content.
Pre-50 raid content was like Fire Giants and efreeti in SOLB, the arena under Vox in permafrost, MAYBE king room(not really worth the time, but can be amusing), Mistmoore, and Split paw. Alot of kunark content is pretty rough without a level 60 tank, and a decent support staff.
POh/POF have both been buffed, or would've be viable for you now...I don't believe they're doable atm anymore though.

At that level, I would say your best option would be to hit some dungeons in raid force first thing to learn the basics of raiding. If there are people in your guild who haven't raioded before, you will be handling so many questions on how to talk in /rs or how to make groups in a raid and other basic stuff, you won't be able to handle much else.
Stuff with a key is great (think Seb and HS key), because if you do a key session first everyone has something to show for it and is psyched to get together and raid. For dungeons to hit in raid force, depends on exactly how many you have, what classes and what levels, but think also of Nurga, Droga, Chardok, LGuk, etc.
Also... do something like Naggy, that only people under level 52 can do. You need some good cleric/healer support and a tank to take it, but that is always a huge accomplishment - and something you will only have the opportunity to do at the levels you are now.

although yer guild seems to be a bit on the low side, its not too early to raid kael.
But seriously if you had enough of 50's peeps u could kill ok in Kael.. Decent practice. Main thing you should check for is that people lvl up asap so you can try some content.. If you practiced Kael (imo) by the time you guys get to decent lvls Vindi shouldnt be that hard. Newer guilds generally like to do Kael coz
1) its easy
2) thurg armors are still upgrades for a lot of members
3) gives you decent raid experience
but yea, Naggy would be ok if you had someone to guide you in there.. Can be a pain if nobody has any experience in raiding.
Another thing guilds who are new to raiding do is.. Practice in smaller zones that have bosses IE: Estate of Unrest has a boss mob there around lvl 38~ Garanel Rucksif. He is a ghost who resides deep in the basement. IF you guy's have alts in the 30's, or even 20's, that would be a fun place to get together a raid to get some experience in communication/organization/execution. I've actually seen some guilds practice there.

Some guilds follow the "EQ timeline" when it comes to raiding and target mobs off that list in chronological order. This list might be outdated slightly but still can be used as a decent reference for ya. But like JEb said, raids with exception to Naggy (for lvl 52's or below) are simply not designed for peeps in the 50's.. Imho, lvl up as quickly as u can in the planes, do guild grouping and get tanks/clerics at least to 60, before trying any tier mobs.
I think if it is just practice though, getting your channels organized and the almighty trick of getting people to listen, ToFS is good under 50 for a baby "raid". The key for the top floor is on a genie that is nasty enough for us average gear type peeps( at 40 anyway) to make it a challenge, and if you dont have your head together, will be a corpse run. Plus the zone has the added incentive of being empty....so you can practice practice practice.
