So I log in last night to play my necro a little. First thing I see is that he is in the bazaar, not where I left him. Odd i think, as I pass the character select screen. As soon as I load up, i do an inventory check, and WTF ALL MY DECENT GEAR IS GONE. :(
My Z-heart, my obulus death shroud, my hierophants cloak, my tacticians bulwark GONE. I am pretty frantic by this stage, and shoot a couple of people that have my account details a tell to see if they have borrowed any gear. They have not. (as an aside, i have given a total of 3 people my acc details- these ppl have had the details for between 1 and 3 years, with Never any problems: my main is a cleric that they Bot on some raids/LDON missions/rezzes)
I go to the shared bank. 30K that used to be there, is not. WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So it seems like someone has either hacked my account, or given pwd information to someone that has scammed me, and i am down like 100K in gear and plat. This is basically all I have- I spent 60K on my necro getting him ubered out- GONE. My main cant even afford to buy peridots FFS.
What can I do? I petitioned that my account was hacked and never got a reply, I hope that they get back to me soon, this has got me so mad.
(then to top it off i went to BoT and lost the roll on a set of Ornate Greaves by 2, I seriously could have killed someone last night)

First: Sorry to hear about your loss.
Second: If you receive a reply from SoE/GM about your problem, do not let them know you freely give out the account information....even if it was to your mother/wife/priest......that is against the EULA and they will not assist you any further.

That'd suck... I deleted a mule with 120kpp on him that I'd forgotten about. It was my old tradeskill fund /sniff sniff. I went to do baking, hit slot5 on char selection, and got a twinked ranger with very little money/no meats etc. I told one of my friends, he's like "man, you just hacked yourself...noob" While I can't relate to you, I can almost sympathize. Good luck getting it back man.

What server are you on? Perhaps we can get together some sort of effort to get you some replacement gear..

when did this happen. Saturday I had my bazaar mule in trader mode. I go into other room and come back in a few hours. I see that the login screen is up now. So oh well game crashed right, well i log back on to find bazaar mule gone. Server crashed and he is gone. everything in shared banks spots gone too.
Still waiting on my petition. I called them and they told me i had to find a gm, duh.
Anyone know where i can find a gm lol, maybe they are on the new server.

Oh my god.. I would be flaming mad.... I would call Sony's Customer Service, I would email the server GM, I would petition in game, and if I saw a guide in game I would send them a tell...
Good luck getting your stuff back... i can only somewhat imagine what it is like. I switched servers before they allowed you to move your gear... I was out 1/2 an epic, all my gear, and all my plat... I met up with RL friends who twinked me back up, but I chose to lose my items you did not...
Hang in there..

If you tell SoE your account has been hacked I've heard they shut down your account because they render it useless and a burden to the community or something like that... it happened to my g/fs friend aparently and I would believe it. so dont know what to tell yah man

That certainly does suck. I certainly would NOT tell SoE that I gave out my info either.
Also chances are very slim IMO that you were actually hacked. As unfortunate as it sounds, one of the 3(if there were actually only 3 people with your login info) probably ripped you off. :(
Also 3 can turn into 4,5,6 peopl real quik. Lets say you have an account with a nice juicy 96% rez dishing cleric. You give Friend A your account info at some point. Friend A is playing one day when you aren't on and dies and wants a rez. Who does Friend A give your info to so they can get a free rez when they cant get a hold of you first.
Not a driect example since you lost your necro but something similar could have happened. We do have the much needed ability to summon corpses so you never know...

Well the SOE rules, which I was reading last night because I couldn't get past the Login Server for a few hours, say that Item re-imbursment is allowed and is at the Discretion of the in sittuations of Dropped items, Hacked, deleted but not thrown... I think you should be able to prove you've lost items if the GM is willing to get off his lazy @#$% and actually checks. This has never been my experience with GMs though... Odds are they'll wait long enough that they can say you didn't have any such items in recent saves, and can't justify the return of items not for certian lost... yadda yadda...
Maybe GMs have gotten kinder in the past 3 years since I played EQ previously. But in the 28 monthes I played, I never heard of anyone getting any significant help from a GM...
If I could, I'd help you... If I was a better salesman, I'd be able to give you false assurances- but all I can do is feel bad with you... Lost a twinked out Rogue once when a body diappeared over a patch night... Was left level 32 and naked with a shrug from the GM...

Keep checking your petition if you haven't heard anything, they delete them without responding even though they are not supposed to, I had to submit 4 before I finally had anyone contact me about something else.
I don't know what they are like about replacing gear really, one of my friends went on holiday and his corpse rotted and he couldn't get anything done about that... I've heard they don't like to replace anything that isn't no drop, but who knows? It seems to just depends on what GM you talk to and their mood that day.
As for your account info, while I agree it most likely was someone you gave your PW to or someone they passed it along to, there are a few other options... for example, do you use the same PW on guild boards you post on? If the board is run/hosted by someone in the guild, they can probably get access to your password, and usernames are easy to figure out since they show up in a lot of different places. Make sure your EQ PW is different from passwords you use anywhere else.

Bare in mind I'm not that computer literate, but how would they know you account was hacked? Do they have a program that can check and see if it was used by a different computer? And if that is the case, wouldn't recent history show that the people you gave the password to had used the account?
I don't know, if you have nothing to lose then go ahead. But if I were sharing my PW with other people, I wouldn't want Sony investigating too closely (again, I am ignorant when it comes to this stuff so if I'm wrong, please enlighten me).

they can actually check to see who the stuff was transfered to
So keep on them They may actually help
Also most deleted char's are retrievable as long as you dont make another char same name (least that is what i have heard) cant believe you didnt try to get your 120k back jeb.

A word to the (not so) wise......while every player here can relate to losing something(s) nice off a character and true felt condolences offered......if you give your account info out you are playing Russian roullette. And you are not alone. It's easy to build trust with someone who you've spent hours (perhaps even days) levelling with. I'm batting .500 with that. The first time I did it was a friend who's wizzy (and then enchanter) I helped PL from 14 to 40.......her repayment was MQing JBoots for my enchanter. Thank you dear, and you know who you are!!!!!! The sexond (and absolute last) time involved a "friend" who's monk I grouped with regularly from 30 to 45.......he wanted to use my druid to 2 box his alts. The deal was that he'd use my account while I was at work. And it was fine, for like a week. Then it was every night, and me wanting to unwind after a greuling shift and finding my account was "in game" without me. When I finally got my account back (I knew he would have to sleep eventually) I had lost a level, my gear was pretty well all but gone, my druids WIS was at 205, I got it back with 124.......but by the grace of Tunare I was already broke (cuz druids always are) so if I lost a couple hundred plat it was alot. I changed my PW, effectively locking him out. Immediately he is cussing me out becuase it wasn't him that took my stuff, he didn't know what happened, etc, etc, etc........he still asks to be PL'd to this day but it will be a cold day in Lavastorm before I ever do that or allow him the chance to use my account again. I am positively sure it wasn't the enchanter chick.....she was one of those lucky peeps that sat around Nexus group buffing KEI before the nerf and one of the few "in game" millionaires I know so there really wasn't anything for her to gain from robbing me. Lesson learned here? I sometimes forget that just because we're friends in EQ, in all probability we're flipping each other off in traffic. Sorry for your loss all the same.

Roughly this time last year, I lost a character to a drop off on a boat. Hit me for like 99999hp or something like that in the ocean of tears and my body was lost between zones. /petitioned /reported . Got a response a day or 2 later. Got my body back but it was from an earlier stage( i.e. i d-leveled) because it was an old save. GM gave me back what i could remember having from Ocean of Tears (probably cause it was worth Jack S.) and attempted to give back my lost exp. Well he screwed up.. i was one sec lvl 23 or something like that next i was 61. GM left and I'm sitting there lvl 61... cant believe it. WOOT!!! Well 10 mins later another GM sends tell that he has to d-level me.. :-(( so im placed back at like 24 or 25 :~( . But i did get the lost loot and exp. Probably a little bit more then I actually had in the first place (think i still squeezed a lvl out of that GM >D ) However, now a days, I never see GM's online.. so I wish you good luck in reaching one.

They should be able to trace where the items went from your account. They are able to tell who the item was given to. You just need help from the GM.

back before the bazaar, I used to loose bags of gear in EC by a trade that was suppose to happen and in trade something went wrong and it would drop to the ground or poof. I lost quite a bit of gear that way..
