this is the guy in stoneroot that drops the evolving sword the blade of eclipse. i figured i would give him a shot now that im 75. he summons and hits for 1200. first i tried pet tanking (pet was buffed with conv). Boner just couldnt last long enough and i got wtfpwned. then i thought i would dot him up with pet tanking then hit HS and take hits. turns out he goes after my pet when im invulnerable. couldnt get this method to work either, pet would die, HS wears, not enough damage done to him before i get summoned again and again.
my next thought was to charm an undead in the zone and use that to pet tank him. while this pet lasted much longer, he cant taunt and if i FD to drop dot aggro, i lose the pet. i tried to dot the best i could without grabbing aggro while still trying to keep the pet from dieing. in the end i had zorlies to 50% and the charmed pet died.
according to allas all the undead in the zone if lvl 66 and about the same strength and such. there is a captain that spawns in the hut and he has a lvl 70 PH. i tried to charm him but i got an uncharmable message. too bad too cause he was a blue con and was hitting me for like 900.
so....anyone have any ideas? i know i can bring in someone else to take him down duo easily but i like trying to do it solo. i might mess with the charming method some more but i dont know what strat to use. even if the undead pet is fighting him and i FD, they immediatley stop fighting each other. with a 6 second summoner i dont see how i could summon kite this guy. i cant take too many hits from him.
any thoughts?

One thing you might want to do is have 2 pets. Make one, buff, give weapons, suspend. Make another, buff, give weapons and have at the mob. Probably won't get you a win, but combined with another strat might help.

atm, I can't remember if I actually have soloed Zoriles, or just think I have, so the following may be a bunch of BS.
This is the way I usually deal with summoning mobs that I can't pet or tap tank the entire time...
2 pets, hasted/bullwarked, 5 corpses nearby for aotd, HS and/or qvox loaded.
root/snare then debuf with scent, send pet/dot, start casting aotd, continue dotting, fd inbetween, etc.
sometime in there the first pet is probably dead and he's going through aotd pets, so unsuspend and send in pet, refresh dots, fd, etc. Pet may or may not take aggro off of aotd pets, if they arn't already all dead, once pet is down to 20ish%, hit replenish companion, click archers, refresh 1-2 big dots quick, step in to save pet and hit clicky robe (por tier 1 for me) and hot potion and start tap tanking. If you can tell you arn't going to have him dead by the time your potion runs out, try and land DP or CV and hit qvox.
I swear I've killed him like that before, though only ever gotten the attunable neck.

Im guessin your using your pet to take damage away from you, where is i think you should be workin the other way, pet is just another dot, get your dots on and then proceeed to tap tank the mob and hopefully if not stunned to often you should win easy.

Spectral guard will help(refresh it whenever you can). So will shadow orbs and heal potions. I don't know what vet aa's you have, but steadfast servant might not suck. Undead slow land?
I'd have 2 buffed pets(one suspended), with haste and spectral guard ready to go.
DOT him hard, when your pet is about to die, I'd summon my 2.0 pet and fd..stand and unsuspend your other pet(that or just time your pet death and your suspend minion cast to hit real close together). If you plan ahead and have 5 corpses close by(and I'd make sure I did) I'd ae wtd and start dotting again, let your archers go too. If you're keeping your pet alive and fd'ing regularly you can hit pet guard here, and then pet hold, and give him resting regen for part of the fight. You'll have to watch your agro more..but that can help a little(it's very nice to do on enrage).
Post a loc and I'll give it a shot.

Just took him out. I did it self buffed, including a self buffed rs focused pet. Basically I pulled him down solo then rooted him, fired of 5 zombie pets then epic pet, then sent my pet in with the tss robe buff active...taunt on.
After all pets are on I hit silent casting and snared him then dotted him up with AP-DP-CoM-CV-VAK then fired off oow teir1 robe and refreshed AP+DP. My pets held out long enough for me to get all the dots off before I got summoned. I do have the pet aa heal maxed so that helped. In the end basically all my pets where dead so I just hit a heal pot and summon ran away from him until the dots got him =) he does summon fast, under 10 seconds.
He dropped the crap neck less.
I used all DoT tributes, that might help. I only have 2 worn dot focuses, Discordant Venom and the mask from the big bazu before MPG..so I'm not that focused out, but maxed out on AA.
That shroom(certain kind) at that bottom area with all the quest NPC's(my fight spot) can give you that +hp buff clicky. Self Buffed I had a little over 10k hp/mana + wraithskin on. Also used yarlirs ring clicky on top of banshee DS..so I had a DS, not sure how much that helped =p
Might wanna make a few lifeshards on top of using heal pots + if you want that expendable rune AA that mitigates 10kish =)
