z-heart or dagger

I was wondering what is better for a lvl 58 necro ? I was thinking a z-heart or a Blood bladed dagger ? so if ya have any ideas i'd love to hear
Its a matter of regen or the mana and hps what is better?????

Good question, I will be facing the same thing in 10 lvls. At 48 I have a heart, regen is great when allure and CoB make downtime shorter. I play fast kill as much as possible and as a result i paint myself into the downtime game.
At lvl 60 though, downtimes not going to be a big factor, huge mana pool, stats still maxxed, thats when i'm going the dagger route, more hp and stats as well mana. If you think about it, the z-heart with 5 points regen and 20 intell. I mean those are really what make the heart sweet, but very limited to the overall picture....

thanks for the info I think i may go for the Blood Bladed dagger I can get one on an even trade. the hp and mana will be a big help and i have a robe with regen 2 and regen 3 in aa's and being an iksar will be eough regen i think .

My 51 necro uses the dagger... very nice well-rounded stats on it IMO.

Mine uses Z Heart / Robe of Aborgation thoes togeter plus Iksar natural regen (and the AA regen abilities) allow me to keep Lich up for a LONG LONG time. The ability for my to keep the down time to a minimum is amazing.

I opted for the dagger since it's much more affordable. As a gnome, it's way too expensive to get enough regen to matter. Leech/lifetap is more my style anyway.

i would really like a regen item. i'm hoping to save up for a robe of abrogation, but am wondering if it is worth giving up my robe of intellect's sv magic stats? or does anyone have a suggestion for a different item in a different slot?

I got my shoulder item from Guk adv. It's very nice and along with my robe gives me regen5. I love it. B)

I got the dagger now and and find that having the higher hp is nice and now being a lvl 58 necro doesn't help that much when your being hit for 400hp+ in pov so I end up using my life taps during battle and Tend to group alot, so with that my down time is low anyway I usually am waiting for everyone else to Med. also thanks for the input it halped me make my decision

I'm currently using the Z-Heart.

Z-Heart is going in the 50k range. The dagger I saw last night for 15k. I'd like the heart better.

I think any regen that s gonna stack with other regens is a definite plus, I switch out my primary/secondary/range for situational use. Zheart/skull of decay/ceramic shackles of torment/ceramic gavel of justice/tacticians bulwark. I usually take off the Zheart when Im grouped and there is a sham/dru/bst in group that can regen me with chloro or better for the higher hp item and switch the shackles to primary and move the tacticians bulwark into secondary.. (it adds roughly 90+ hps or so) When soloing, I prefer to have the Zheart on just to help with regen, (i'm a def) so I need some help there, like the gnome, I tap/use BoD a lot. Imo dont count all your eggs in one basket, have (if u can afford it) gear to use in different situations coz there are beneficial times to use em all.

I couldnt play without my z-heart, When your FD with 5% health and your sow has ran out, Z-heart all the way baby! It totally changed the game for me when I got mine at about level 35 or so. Just my 2 copper.............. :D

regen is over-rated =) Think of it as this way, Regeneration 5hp per 6 seconds. Which means 50hp per minute. Ummm.....ok that's like 1 tick of ArchLich. but u still have 9 ticks in that minute to go =) Saryan's Kiss = 200+ hp / 6 seconds.

Zheart = garbage after vexxing/saryrn's kiss IMO.

quik2, I strongly disagree with you here. The guides you wrote were good, and alot of what you post seems pretty well grounded, but regen IS important. Your not always going to want to or be able to have cast saryrn's kiss, and during that time your medding. I'm an iksar with 20 worn regen, and a self buff for 8 per tick, I can sit in Seduction of Saryrn and loose NO health. So after being rezzed, I click my belt and sit down after casting SoS and I'm full mana pretty quickly. Also, when I fd low health and mana, the regen is very nice to have. In combat it's true regen isn't really that important, but travelling from spawn to spawn(any significant distance, or doing anything else while in a lich form besides chain pulling and ALWAYS having a mob to tap/drain, and the mana to do it...regen is very very nice to have. IMO keep BOTH, if your chain pulling and don't have any life/mana concerns equip the dagger, if your having to cast vexing mordinia too much equip the zheart.

Everyone that has ever casted SK a few times consecutively knows how much mana that takes...it's not something most necros can sustain. Even a few less casts of that in an exp grind can help your kill rate go up a ton.

I personally dig the dagger. I got mine for 20k on quellious, compared to the 53k the hearts are going for. 20 int + 5 regen is all the heart is, the intelligence bonus isnt that great and the regen alone isnt worth it, the dagger on the other hand adds hps/mps/int and an array of other cool things.

I'm a n00b so dont pay attention to my opinion tho, you should listen to jeb =P

I had both both but found that in groups, soloing, and raiding that the zheart was better for me. Dagger has better stats but I prefer the regen. Have a Blood Runed Battle Wand to switch out as well if I want the HP. Plus the zheart looks awesome :)
