I think Dulak should be added on there. Dulak harbor from lvl 47-?. I am still getting good exp and awesome loot at lvl 50. Probably will up to lvl 55 at least. Thanks

Looks like it came from here (http://necro.eqclasses.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=12828).

I could be wrong but atleast it has the links to the guides. ;)

for the 63+ range : PoTactics should be added. This is a staple solo zone for these levels.

Jebasiz
01-07-2004, 10:36 AM
65- should add:
plane of fire tables, and magma guardians.
and Tactics, as mentioned before.
63-65(possibly 60+)droga(for cash, and passable exp).
59-61-the gargoyles in nightmare are good exp as well

When reading the guides on Katta guards for exp...they may still be
pre-fear pathing engine change and thus don't work that way anymore.

Also Gunthak beach is a killer spot to lvl from 39-44 atleast, with shackle of spirit mobs only hit about once every 12 secs, on tunare i know there's always a 65 mage/chanter/cleric there for 2boxing and getting temp spell or pl'ing thier neccy's so just kindly ask them for either summoned items v2 NDT and haste, with my pet haste speed of vallon v2 and NDT my pet was unstopable at 39, instead of taking dmg with the lifetap proc of NDT he actually healed himself and saved me a lot of mana though they'll be some lb's its still about 1-2% per kill at 44, just pull with shackle and your good to go.

34-39 The mines in Thurgadin is great xp. I don't know why nobody ever suggests this. I go here on all my chars.

40-50 The specs in Qeynos Aqueducts are nice xp and you pick up some pretty decent cash too.

Well I tried Nurga last night at 37, but no luck. The place was crawling with them! no place to set up camp and pull to. did I miss something?

For levels 16-25, I would also recommend The Overthere in the Northeast corner of the zone (mudpit area); it starts greening out after that. You shouldn't be KOS to the Outpost if you're a necro and there's also the PoK book near by.

Great guide, thanks!

for 16-23 if you are going STRAIGHT for exp you can probably do it in a couple hours in the paludal caverns. There is a lot of jackasses and newbs there but there is no argument that that is the single best exp place for those levels.

Just as a Note.. the Sisters of Errolisi in OOT are listed as 16-19. The Sisters themselves are level 7-13.

At 14 they began to light blue, at 15 they're beginning to green and I suspect that by 16 dark blue mobs will be sparse enough, that I'll need to move on.

I can't imagine there'd be any worthwhile XP at all on them at 19.

This list includes footnotes about "guides" that have been written for some of the suggested hunting areas. Where are these guides to be found. I did a search by the author of the guide and found nothing.
Thanks.

Goblin mines are nerfed to lvl 60s so don't try it at lvl 39- 44. you will die.
best place i seen for lvl 39 to 50 is echo caves solo underbulks, the tasksmaster ect. loc Pos 750 Neg 1000 when u get to 44 go kill the skellies and the taskmaster.
snar pull if more come FD but make sure u watch for the 35 min spawn of the wanderer. Pull you target to the wall there is a pathing there that makes it so they don't go back to others when feared. Snare fear send pet dot dot fear easy as pie. If you can pick up a staff in Bazaar called Staff of the dreadgazer it has invoke fear which will save you some down time. 20 hrs of solo in that area should get you from lvl 39 to 48.

Have fun Good luck and be safe

I hope this helps

Butcherblock dwarves are candy from 34-39. They're ok money as well. Just kill anything that's not red or a guard.

Echo Caverns "hard" side can be done as early as 34 without real problems. If you're a real masochist you could stay in Echo most of your 'life'.

Static mushrooms in dawnshroud can be done at twenty, and random garbage in the zone can carry you past forty.
- Again, only to be attempted at the risk of one's sanity.

And hello.

only suggestion as you asked.. nothing set in stone or nothing i would ever claim as "the best route"

24 -30 i did Lake of Ill omen Red Charbones (but for me that was mainly cos it was a lighty zone and i could get pvp as well ;) )

30 - 35 Snoreverthere SF ramp and outpost fearkiting anything that moved apart from tigresses (yes teh tigresses seem to resist more than the high lvl tigers)

35-45(ish) vary between Rathe Mnts fear kiting giants and butcherblock mnts the dwarfs on the shore.. only 1 house needs fd splitting if i remember right but it gets trickier as your faction gets worse...

45(ish) to 52ish snooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooore sorry burning woods giant fort and wurms surrounding. Easy kills fear kite works nicely from the right of the ramp as you approach it. Its DULL in fact its DUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUULLLLLL nowadays u got PoP so the choices are a lot more plentiful this would be my lazy option )

Hi everyone

Just wanted to share where I hunted. I am a Iksar Necro, and I soloed everything.

1-8 Newbie zone FoB, LOIO and SONH (I was doing Skullcap quests)

8-16 FoB in the pit (save ya spider silks, sell in bazaar).

16-22 LOIO at the Windmill. The zone is empty now, great exp and good loot. PC is over-rated, great exp, but it's always crowded (Great if you can get there in the off peak time). Another good place is East Karana, mostly over looked, Crag Hill is a gold mine, to the cash restricted player. I haven't done it with this char, but I did it with my Chanter at this lvl.

22-24 Warsliks Woods. Another zone which is empty. Giant Fort is great, nice exp, ok loot, with the added bonus of a Forest Loop dropping.

24-28 You have loads of options. Stay in WW and kill giants and Brutes at 26, LOIO is still great for exp. The guards in Highkeep Hold are great for loot, but expect downtime for mana regen and pet heal, but it is well worth it, if you are short on cash. Boglings and Needlites are good exp and good loot in Echo Caverns.

Thats as far as I have got, it was nice traveling around in my last few lvls. Well back to Kunark for me, time to get my next lvl skullcap.

Good Hunting and Safe Travels

Another great spot from say 14-22 is the caimans and crocs in oasis. Usually empty, and they do not aggro. Excellent alternative to Paludal, when it's crowded.

I just turned 49 and got all my nice new spells, and was looking for a place to level. I thought I'd check out Natimbi and see if I could pay those turtles back for the pain they had inflected on me in the past. I really shouldn't have tried them in the past, but what did I know. At 49 I could solo them, to the surprise of the non-necros in the zone. I could solo the stonemites too, both for roughly 2% xp. They drop crap mostly, though, now and then you get aligned ore (I got one once) or a blue diamond supposedly, but there are a few drops that are part of a quest turn-in that may be useful, one for a mana pres 3 item that you may still need, having deigned to purchase the mucky drape, and the other for a necklace that is still better than what I'm wearing.

How:
Both the turtles and the stonemites can be found right at the wayfarer camp. I usually get there by going from POK to BB, magus to Nedaria's Landing, magus to Natimbi. The mobs in the zone will not attack you on sight, at least not these two, but they will assist each other in battle, so pull them near the camp. I like to pull em to the water line just down the beach from the camp, but far enough away from the zone in to avoid annoying people who show up. I wait till one's relatively alone, then send pet to attack, and then pull pet back to wherever I want to fight em, casting as I pull pet back. Get a Virt on you and your pet, Cascading Darkness, Asystole, Insidious Retrogression, Bond of Death, Ignite Blood, Lich, and heal pet as needed. Jump in to take a few blows to mitigate the damage the pet'll be taking, and don't forget to backup enough to cast as needed to avoid being stunned.

Someone before mentioned the BB dwarves...they were nerfed about 6 months ago and are no longer snareable. I used to quad this with my druid and found out the hard way about the nerf. All so as of the patch on February 15 2005 the argo range on on the skulking brutes in WW has been changed. It is much larger! The room with 3 in them if you try and pull one another one will come.

Dont forget the stables/kennel in Veksar. Id say wait till 64. Exp is pretty good. Reason I say wait till 64 is because at 63 you dont have Sos or Tod, those 2 spells are KEY because the rotting hunters hit to damn hard even slowed and shadowbound just cant keep up with healing. Sos because with the line of Splurt, Saryns Kiss Fpok and your pet whacking away you can have all those dots run its course and still have to refresh Fpok. Mobs then should be at roughly 10% health at which time (Insert Undead DD here) will whach em. Sorry dont remember the name of that undead dd off the top of my head.

The decaying "Dogs" have much less hp's than the rotting hunters. Just my 2cp sorry for the ramble.

Hate to revive such an old thread but I thought chime in with my bizarre tale so far. Some of this is really old and may not apply and some is very recent.

I leveled from 1-55 in back in 2000-2001 when hell levels were in full force. I then hit a huge brick wall and cancelled and took a year off. Came back and played my monk and shaman for a bit. Quit again and took 2 years off. Played a bit more and quit again. Oh well, it's a long sordid story. I started over 6 years ago but only 3 years total subscribed :)

My notable hunting grounds from 2000-2001:

1-10: Nektulos, EC and WC
10-15: FOB and Kurns
15-20: Some OOT, some Najena
20-29: Hard to remember, I think LOIO
29-39: Dalnir and OT. Turned in lots of war braids for the Worker's Sledgemallet
39-45: Nurga back in the days when it was for this level and spiders gave amazing xp.
45-49: I think Burning Woods
49-51: Ah...Spiroc Island.
51-53: Cobalt Scar.
54-55: Neriak Wizzies. Incredible XP
55: Life became miserable :( :( This was in 2001

Fast forward to 2003 for a month :)

55-56: Katta. OMG so fricken boring that I quit again

Fast forward to 2006 where I am currently

56-59: Veksar and some OS. Yess, I love being a necro again! Undead slow in Veksar is so fun. After numerous tank/pet/dot/slowing the undead sentries, commoners and such I moved to the golem area and there is a sweet spot to aggro kite them. Really nice XP and the recent OOC changes give so little downtime.

So the question is will I quit again for 1-2+ years? I don't think at this point I will. I'm having a blast and finally rounding the corner to 60 and there's so much to look forward to from 61+ I really hated 55+ until I found Veksar, I just wish I had known about it back in 2003.

The only thing that bugs me about playing nowadays is the empty feeling I get running around old zones and not seeing a soul around. I remember the 100+ peeps in LOIO, SolB, LGuk, and now it's just completely dead out there. I even miss the old /auction at the EC tunnel.

59 sucked. Looong level. But good news. Once you get through 59, 60 is a breeze, and the xp stays pretty good till 66 where it starts to grind again.

I decided to give spirocs in TD a shot last night. I used the TL guy from OT. When I zoned in I started conning the Ogres, second one I conned was Fabled Oowomp. Green to me so I quickly engaged, much to my surprise he was a very easy kill. He spent the majority of the fight casting spells that I kept resisting. I looted The Fabled Sheer Bone Mask. On to something that would give me exp...I traveled up the beach and spotted a spiroc harvestor. Now I don't know if it's all the spirocs or just this harvestor (even con at 55) but I quickly cast insideous retro on him and see the message "immune to changes in run speed". I'm thinking "uh oh, this can't be good." He's hitting me for no less than 200dmg each time. I cast invoke fear on him and the message I get is even worse than the first, "immune to fear spells." Already realizing that this will most likely NOT have the desired outcome, I take off running like a bat outta hell only to see he is right on my heels still hitting me. I tap him once or twice, see my health at 35% and try casting FD...interrupted, interrupted, interrupted, LOADING PLEASE WAIT.....

Going to check Alla and do a little investigating on these spirocs to see if all are like this or if I'm just that unlucky. Just thought I'd add this though since the spirocs are listed in the hunting guide. I will report back after I do some homework.

Spirocs definitely shouldn't be even cons at 55. The exp there is pretty poor after 51, I would expect they are at least light blue if not green (new con system not old).

This particular spiroc is involved in rogue 1.5
