I never hunted in the zone on any character, before or after revamp. I've done some reading on the web and found a few decent sources for information.

The best I found, by far, is here:

http://pub116.ezboard.com/fcouncilofzarcho...topicID=4.topic (http://pub116.ezboard.com/fcouncilofzarchonfrm4.showMessage?topicID=4.topic)

This guy has gone into great detail about the zone, level ranges of MOBs, quests, etc.

I also read the strategy guide over at Necro EQClasses, but it appears to be outdated and relating to Nurga prior to the revamp. The same seems to be true of the Nurga hunting guide on this site. They both refer to a safe spot that would now be among some of the higher-tier MOBs, not the lower-tier ones that my lvl 42 necro needs to be killing.

What I'm really looking for is info from someone who has hunted 39-44 there recently on safe spots and pulling. The link above has a great map showing MOB placement and roamers, which concerns me. It looks like one of the top-tier wanderers occasionally comes through the low-tier cavern.

FYI, I have a lvl 56 druid I 2-box with, which is obviously pretty handy for keeping regen, hp buffs, etc. on my necro as well as for pulling and snaring. I plan on continuing to use my druid to plevel my necro until the necro is consistently killing MOBs that are dark blue to the druid... at which time I'll just group them. If the second-tier Nurga MOBs are good for that, I may just keep both characters there until the Necro is in his 50's.

Yeah, I spent four or five levels there before the revamp, which was great, but unfortunately they first nerfed the fear pathing and then raised the level of the mobs. I'm not sure what it's like since the revamp, though I did go there in a group in the low/mid-50s and the mobs near the top of the waterfall were dark blue.

I've hunted here after the revamp with my Necro in my 50's. The MOBs at the bottom of the waterfall are green to me but most are DB to me at 59 (as early as the slave pit...#2 on the EQAtlas map I believe). You'll need at least the 49 pet to be able to pet tank here. At your level you won't be able to fear kite either because there are too many spawns and not enough open area. I suppose once you clear an area you could fear kite so that leaves root rotting to kill spawns. The problem here is there are ALOT of casters so even the root rot method might be dangerous. Once you get into your 50's it's not bad exp and loot...most spells will be resisted with marginal MR (~110). As you get closer to the Droga zones the MOBs get even tougher...I had trouble pet tanking with the 59 pet because the MOBs hit so hard.

FYI, I took my necro here for some hunting at lvl 42-43 and here's what I found...

Entrance MOBs are killable for xp. There's a static spawn and a roamer spawn at the entrance pool, and two static spawns at the top of the ramp. There are warrior and rogue type melee-only MOBs and a variety of casters, all blue to 42. All of them hit hard and will eat your lvl 39 pet if you try to tank them. Root-rotting is the way to go until you get the first four spawns cleared. You could pull from deeper in and aggro kite up and down the hallway, once those 4 spawns are cleared. The spawn time seems long, maybe 15 minutes, so once the spawns are broken you should be able to manage things alright.

They do tend to break root fairly often, so beware of that. Also, up your resists as much as possible, because necro and wizard type MOBs will chain cast on you.

This spot is do-able but a bit exhausting for xp solo. If it weren't for the faction, I wouldn't even be thinking about it actually. It would be nice for lvl 40ish duos or small groups.

I'm about to ding to 44 in Burning Woods on undead, and then going to return to Nurga and see how my new pet holds up. A tougher pet and better hp transfer spell should improve the situation in Nurga, but not being able to slow the goblins will still make it a pain probably. I'll probably bail out of kunark and go to lower guk or somewhere else with both undead MOBs and a dungeon xp bonus. I can mow down goblins for faction later, when I'm lvl 60 and want to go hunt in Chardok B.
