Ok, well this is my first post hehe. I play on the Fennin Ro server. I have a 47 (soon to be 48) Necromancer. When I first started playing, I played a Warrior and an Enchanter. The Warrior hit 65, the Enchanter hit 52 yadda yadda then I moved them to the Luclin server out of sheer stupidity. So instead of going through the pain and aggrevasion of remaking my warrior or my enchanter, I made a necromancer just to see how it was. It was the only class I never played and I was really starting to get interested in it. Plus, I only had left over caster gear that never got tranferred over. And as I said, leveling up another enchanter wouldn't be fun and it'd just be a total drag. So when I made my necro, I asked a friend of mine who plays a necro what I should start out with doing. She said mainly go for pure HPS and Mana, INT was just a bonus at lower levels. So I did, I got my hps up to around 1k by the time I was level 30. I was really rather impressed with how much a necro can really do. I was able to solo from level 1 to 47. Granted I did group, this way I knew what to do and what not to do in groups. I love soloing and it's a lot of fun for me.

When I first looked up the necro class when I started playing, it really confused me. When I started playing I just had this whole 'kill everything in my path' mindset. And I wanted to be a tank, which when I started playing, I didn't know I was going to end up hating everything about a melee class. When I look back at what I thought of a Necro back years ago, I realized that first impression don't always mean everything. I saw the necro as being a worthless class in a group or raid or anything else. Then, when I started grouping with my friend's Necro, I realized 'Hey, I love necro's, they kick major a$$. They not only give me Degen (warrior's best friend imo) but they also help out A LOT with DPS'

So I guess what I'm trying to get at is, out of all the classes I've played, I'd have to say Necromancer is the most fun to me.

It's good to see that you are enjoying your class. Nothing like putting major effort on a character to end up disliking the class at the later stages of the game.

The necromancer can perform many roles, be it in group or solo. It's an extremely interesting class to explore and very rewarding.

Good luck with your character.

I was the same way with my first class which was a wizard. I leveled him to 65 but after all the nerfs on AoE I sold him because quite frankly he got boring. Sit / stand / nuke, sit / stand / nuke, etc.. Yeah.. king of instant situational damage, but is that all to life?

With a necro you are so much more than that. With you and you pet, you are almost like 2 people. And sooo much better than a mage. Yeah.. a mage has a bad arse pet.. but he has no agro control.. and in dungeons soloing mobs he is going to be dead half the time because of it. We are very powerful in and of ourselves.. and FD, fear, snares, and bad arse dots, we are confident in all situations. We are not a fearful class but tend to push the envelope of everything because we can.

Since my wizard I played a rogue to 65 as well... and now my necro to 65.. with various alts leveled to mid 50's (chanter, shadowknight, monk etc). and of all the classes I have played.. Necro is by far my favorite. He is just awesome.

I made a cleric as my first. Took him to 50, before pre-expansion, then got bored and quit EQ. I came back after LoY released right before Luc and I must say that it was pretty interesting to see how things changed. I made a new cleric, now 29 and this Nec. I actually wanted to be evil for a change. Well, Ive had my chance and all I can say is "DIE YOU KSING MISTY THICKET DEPUTIES!!!" Hehe.
