[Deathe]

Hi all. I just started my first necro lately and thus far I really enjoy it (beats the snot out of playing a cleric through 55 levels <_< ).

Anyways, I was just wanting to start a post where necros can tell of the hardest mobs they have ever solo'd, or have heard of being solo'd (Vox, Naggy, that sort of thing). Maybe include the tactics/strategy used in defeating the mob.

I believe one of the reasons for the level cap on Vox and Nagafen was that one or both were soloed by a Necro: they're within the Fear level range, and therefore were pretty easy for a level 60 with a full spellbook.

Personally I've never done anything tougher than the Treants in Nightmare solo.

Hey, Jeb. Love that list but I was wondering if you could tell us at what level could a Necro solo those? I would be especially interested in Lodi because I was caught in a death loop with that reptile and have wanted revenge for over 4 years (yes, I hold a grudge...so?) If and when I rejoin the land of EQ that is one of my 'things to do'.

Also, I know that gear is a big requirement for some things so I'm hoping you don't base it off of Time Equipment or even Elemental. I was thinking of maybe a normal raiding equiped necro. (does that make sense?)

Just a guess since im not even 40 yet, but post 55 or 60 they should be reasonably mediocre to solo. Just a guess.

lodi has been solo'd by 60 necro's back when 60 was max and then it wasn't exactly phat lewt galore so gear isn't important i'm sure it's just a basic kite from what i understand tho i've never done him myself(too fucking lazy and no reason to) but what do i know it's 3am on a friday night and i'm just a drunk redneck!

Lodizal is not a basic kite. He is a summoning mob so as soon as hurt him he will summon you. I am not sure I wouldnt just pet tank him with Horror, BoT, FPoK, and DP on him all the time. He hits for 250's and fast so not sure how long your pet could tank either. Perhaps you should just raid buff cast FS and eat the summoning alternating your dmg with your pets. Would be interesting none the less.

I know how a druid can take him np at all.. There is another turtle in the zone that is like level 35 but has a gazillion hps. He is non kos and think he is a quest mob, but a druid can animal charm him and use him against lodizal. I tried to take this mob before when I was level 60 with a whole group of others and while he only hit for like 35.. it took us over 30 minutes of constant fighting to eventually kill him.

Jeb might call them a joke, but Jeb is top of the line in gear. I don't know that I would ever try to solo Venril Sathir. His 1500 dps lifetap is very hard to over come and he is resistant as hell to everything. VS is essentialy a dps fight and mostly melee dps since he is so resistant.

Jeb, post your strategy for taking some of these mobs so we can try them out. I would be game to just about try anything.

I'm inclined to agree with Doomfir.

Any hints or guides would be nice. I'm far from being even remotlely equiped like Jeb, but it doesnt mean i wouldnt try it anyways.

The hardest thing ive soloed are the hitters in veksar. Nobles, Highborn commanders, and even tried the Remains. So far the remains is 1/4 for me, so it isnt consistant. But then again i use a charmed highborn for the fight so the whole thing is a big risk.

The only other thing of note ive soloed is the dragon constructs in dragon necropolis. That was at lvl 60 though.
