I PM'd merloc about the armor(feel free to, he asked on a post in the vet forum). If you have anything specific you'd like to have added to the armor sets please let me know. The thread was about tier4(ashengate/FC raid attained) armor..I'm not sure if it's limited to that, but anything specific would be welcome.
I sent him something about the mods and them needing foci. Det mana pres, det spell haste, damage foci, and dot extention. The mods are a problem too. Like losing 7% spell shield from azure gloves of the diplomat would hurt..since tss gloves have none. Along with the arms..tons of mods on OoW and DODH arms, next to nothing on TSS. I've asked for a bit of consistency/continuity.

just a few thoughts on my part.. Individually, the Tier 4 armor looks pretty grim modwise, but stacked together they aren't bad. I agree 100% on focus though, while i can assume there will be some focus on our pants (if it's fire magic or dot extension, ok, but at least two other casters got spell range on their armor and i am a bit concerned with that as our fate).
here's some observations for your amusement:
Tss armor set as a whole (i used other casters robe/pants as a guideline, they are probably all the same anyway)
HP: 3035 MANA: 3155
Spell Shield: 14/ Dot Shield: 13/ Stun Resist: 15/ Shielding: 9
Regen: 19/ FT: 13/ Avoidance: 45
Faerune, Vergalid's Miasma, Servitor of Scale, xxx (pants), xxx (Robe... not sure about this one but i seem to recall them having a clicky or something in beta)
Azure armor set as a whole
HP: 2445 MANA: 2455
Spell Shield: 14/ Dot Shield: 12/ Stun Resist: 15/ Shielding: 6
Regen: 31 (!)/ FT: 19 (!)/ Avoidance: 85(!)/ DS: 7/ Haste: 45%
Improved Dodge 4, Vampiric Fire, Vampiric Bile, Zombie Malaise, Vampiric Preservation, Form of Rejuvenation 4.
Blightbringer's set as a whole
HP: 2050 MANA: 2220
Spell Shield: 9/ Dot Shield: 18/ Stun Resist: 12/ Shielding: 7
Regen: 26 (!)/ FT: 22 (!)/ Avoidance: 55(!)
Spec conj 12%, Thunder of Anguish, Venom of Anguish, Servant of Chaos, Muram's Touch, Curse of Muram.
So... the big anomaly in Draton`ra is, the lack of Regen, FT, avoidance, and focus distribution (arguable, kind of)
While regen and ft aren't that important, and i'm sure plenty of necros able to get this armor are near twice the cap, it does seem strange that when the cap goes up we get WAY less of the stuff. It may still be a non issue, i am not sure how the avg. necromancer's regen/ft is stacking up now.
Avoidance, that's strange too. I know some necros have a ton of the stuff, i think i had somewhere around the mid 100s and losing ~40 avoidance is something that would dissuade me quite a bit here.
Focus distribution was my big conern here...
Faerune, Vergalid's Miasma (that's good at least), Servitor of Scale, XXX (detri spell range! :P), possibly some clicky. I am sure other classes have some grief over their stuff too but seeing that is kind of a WTF moment. ONE damage focus? If they phase out the possibilities for fire/magic focus more, i guess things like DFB or venin will be more appealing, huh. The pet focus is weird too, i guess if they based this set off of anguish armor it makes sense but i'm not sure how many necro's are using pets on raids any more anyway... i would've been happier with this on some auxiliary piece of armor, this seems generic for the "pet classes", where a fire focus would've been much more appreciated.
Anywho, I wasn't expecting amazing mods since i assume they'll come with the further expansions when the hp/mana doesn't jump so much.
I agree with what you said as far as what we need.. just because i hate focus jumping from pieces of gear to gear, i'd love to see the shoes get detri spell extension (the mods suck enough anyway, they need SOMETHING to be appealing), The pants get fire (since gloves got poison) and maybe the hat get spell haste and robe get preservation, on top of some righteous clicky. Dunno where they'd want to stick magic but we didn't get that on azure set either (apparently grenwald drops a cape with this focus, sothgar's rancor for reference)

sothgar's shoulder as well..Magic is kinda "good" at 72 anyway. I dunno wtf they were thinking though. No preservation of any kind. No spell haste of any kind(only det matters), and no dot extension. The belt has a det mana pre(I think)..but wtf?

i am completely in agreement, it really seems like the focus set was not with our interests in mind (And imo, a 'set' of armor should be providing the basics for what we need, y'know) But looking at the mods at least it wasn't as completely bleak as i originally thought. I guess halving regen/ft/avoid mods just made it look like they offered a lot less, when it's not really that different. Still boggling though :P
