Okay, I have been farting around in GE recently with my shaman and warrior, leveling my shammy. I noticed this guy up in one of the rooms I looked in and noticed on alla's that he drops the scythe of sundering...and he was wielding it. So I was like, I want I want.

I logged in my nec to go kill him, but he has retarded hp regen.

The 1st attempt I made I got him to 1% and went oom, he out-regens the 72 pets dps while hasted, and puts out crazy dps on him. I couldn’t keep up with the healing with otherside rk2, and sitting on a drog to keep my pet up, and I noticed that he went from 1% to 3% while just my pet was fighting him, so I said fuck it, ill try again. So I FD and my pet dies, then he goes from 4% to 96% health in 1 tick, then back to 100%. WTF?!

And on top of that, he has a 5 minute rest timer. Now I would imagine that makes him a raid target, IE the fuggin crazy hp regen...

So I figure I will try to out last him... Casting CV and Vakk's and just focusing on healing my pet, I got him to 40% before going oom, so my spell dps wasn’t there.

The first time I was using CoM, CV, Vakk's and AP. and healing my pet so I burned through my mana, I had to use my vet aa to replenish my mana, and still got him SO close.

I have 8k mana, and I used army of the dead, and 1.5 clicky pet 3 times during the fight. What am I missing with this guy?

I have done him a bunch and had no problems. If he has the cleric hammer he will go invulnerable and im wondering if thats not the problem. I cleared the mobs in his room and after that it was just a plain kite fight. Don't tank or pet tank him. Kite him and he went down easy for me. Has a ton of hitpoint so be efficient. Have the rogue pet up and pet weapons should procure a ton off him. Keep him snared and aggroed so he is not getting an invulnerable procure off.

Tried snaring and resisted a ton, will have to try it again with that strat if he is still up when i get home.

He has quite high MR ... make sure he's snared before you start kitting and refresh snare early with fire dots in between. With shammy and malo it should be easier than solo too.

He doesn't have a ton of hp per se, his thing is that he regens ~700/tick (which made soloing him at 65 a significant accomplishment). Last time I soloed him (for a friend who wanted the DA hammer, like 8 or more months ago), I burned him down in under 3 minutes.

I was soloing him with alot less than 8k mana, which makes me question the efficiency of your spell lineup and your technique during your attempt. Myral isn't hard to solo, certainly not these days (there's harder trash mobs that are soloable in current content), but don't go hogwild on Dread/Ashengate Pyre if you don't have the mana pool to support it, he dies easily enough using more efficient dots. Because of the level difference, at 70 he was actually pretty easy to get/keep snared with Embracing Darkness. If you have Coruscating Darkness available, there really shouldn't be much of an issue at all snaring him.

i think the problem was that i had a brain fart and didnt think to kite him. for some reason i assumed that he summoned and i was attempting to pet tank him, and the healing of the pet sucked out my mana. he should pop within the next few hours, so if i dont see him when i get home from work, he will be due to spawn on friday between 8-5 :P and ill just level my shammy while i wait for him.

I hate it when I kite him when he has that stupid DA hammer and I don't pay attention and get hit.

Praetorian is easy. Clear the room and kite him. If he resists snare just feign it off and try again. :P

If he resists snare I back up into a corner and cast again until it lands :)

i can't even begin to imagine IV isn't soloable, will try him later on tonight after i get home if he's up.

edit: found him up finally and give him a shot.. nothing particularly fancy, melee dps is pathetic though he isn't slowable. important things to remember are to tank him from behind , dispel him before you begin, and be prepared with a fire/magic dot line. he is rooted and you'll be blind all fight, as well as some other pretty harmless but 2 hour long dot, still- nothing really difficult. the real ordeal, for whatever reason, was finding him up in the first place.

Clerics have soloed IV, and just today a cleric soloed AoW.

And people were wondering why I was saying, back during beta, that Vow of Valor was a bit much.

Where is this "Itraer Vius"? If people think he cant be soloed, I intend to try.

He was nec soloed in the past ... can't remember if at 70 or 65 but he was. Forgot who it was ... was some old shooler iirc.

akheva ruins, he's pretty hard to miss on the way to shei.. he doesn't hit hard at all from memory, and is undead so if he's slowable his melee dps would be a joke. he can blind and has a gflux of some kind, but i think that's probably smartly avoidable. It REALLY should not be a hard fight, i can't even imagine how it would be, but for some reason on AB finding any of these trashy names up is a problem.

between VoV, PR, DA hammer, and ward, clerics became a hell of a lot more fun class to box for me :P In fact, there was a trick fixed several months ago where a cleric could solo one of the BiC mobs in yxtta, was pretty fun to watch.

I completely agree though, they're basically in god mode right now, and i have a few clerics in my guild that are so full of themselves i've had to turn off guild chat on multiple occasions just to put up with being on-line.

You'd be surprised how many times I've done the same. ;)

I don't read guild chat 80% of the time while i'm soloing/grouping heh.
