I have looked all over, and I cannot find any information on the Words needed for the lower level (below level 30) researchable spells for necros.
I am gonna work up my skill, but I cannot find any info on where to find those words. I saw a post on Allas that said Kurn's Tower, but I spent two hours there wiping the zone with a 69 BL and not a single word dropped, so that was a waste.
Anyone know where the lower level Words drop?

Thanks, but all I get there is.......
"This item is dropped from mobs:
Multiple Zones
multiple mobs, This item can drop off many mobs in many zones. It is too large of a selection to track and list them all"
I am well aquainted with eqtraders, having done the Shawl quest on three characters. All the Words needed for the lower level spells have the above quote instead of information.
I have looked on Allakhazams's as well, but found that information to be from players comments, and unreliable (Kurns Tower?).

Let me sum up what (I think) Xis is trying to say: they can drop basically anywhere.
That said, I have had some successes based on "dropped for me off x in y" stories.
But I have had many, many times more successes vendor diving and Bazaaring.
Clear as mud?

well this is why research sucks in my opinion, its hard to get the components needed for "x"spell , pretty much why my skill is like 89 and i bought most of my spells in baz.

I am less worried about the leveling of my skill, as there are other ways to get my skill up than making spells. Mostly I am concerned about getting my spells. I am now level 25, but using the level 20 pet (light blue now) rather than the 24 pet.
The problem is that no one is SELLING the low level spells. I know, the level 29 pet spell is available on vendors, but I solo, and it is just much more effecient to do so with the most current pet. Several of the other spells are research only, and giving up on the root and intensify spells is not what I want......(whine mode off) :P
I also understand the "clear as mud" explanation. I will just hunt the hot zones and hope for the best.

The words for spells fall off mobs of appropriate levels, in every zone, or at least every zone up to that expansion's most recent ones.
Just level until the next vendorable one. It'll be faster than actually killing, hoping for word drops, and getting a success on the combines. If you're lucky you might find one in the baz, but there's practically nobody playing at those levels that isn't somebody's twink pl project, so odds are not great. I never got my two (?) research-only pets, and just leveled past needed them.

I did alot of vendor diving for words as I was leveling. And I would come up with some rare ones from time to time as well. I had more success getting words that way than trying to hunt for them and hoping for them to drop.

Research stuff generally drops in level appropriate content. This is based on the old system of spell levels, and several levels between where you got no spells.
1, 4, 8, 12, 16, 20, 24, 29, 34, 39, 44, 49
Those are the spell levels of old.
The general locations of where a spell's research components would drop was this : if you are at the level for the spell, or higher but lower than the next spell level, and you are fighting level appropriate content (based on when the expansion was released) then you should be seeing research components dropping.
So, if you're fighting dark or light blues (under the current con system) then you should be seeing the words you need dropping.
You should also probably hold on to any necromancer words you find, in case you need 'em later.

The way i found the words i needed for researching was to use allakhazam, eqtraders , and casterrealm.... this was years ago though. Printed out the spell list from allah or castersrealm, then went to eqtraders for the recipe( allah gives the recipes pretty much now as well) , on allahkhazam if you click on the words they will send you to a page that tells you who drops the words you need.
That being said, i did vendor diving in popular areas in pok ( and now the guild lobby) , also had a list of words i needed and checked bazaar constantly. If you just want to skill up, compare youre list of words you need to the prices in bazaar, pick the cheapest words you can buy that will complete the spells that are within 40 skill points of youre current research skill.
Goodluck, was a pain in the butt to level it up.
