Two Questions...
Does the Pet Size matter?
And should I shrink my pet?
In my 3 years of playing a necro I have only a few people ask, and yesterday was one of them. A SK who shrunk himself said my Pet (68) was in his way. Asked me to shrink him. When I said, "No, I would just not send my pet in." He said he wasn't playing with kids and left the group.
Opinions???

I always double shrink my pet after summoning.
If it's not in other people's way it's at least taking up more screen realestate on my window, and I am not aware of any advantage of having a larger pet.
If you don't have a pet shrink clicky then I can understand being annoyed at having to demem and mem and demem and mem, but don't let your pet die that much and it shouldn't be that frequent of a thing to do.

I shrink my pet just because it get in my way. Whether its for me or anyone else, the smaller the better. It can get in the way for targeting and conning mobs. Personally, I don't see how you can play with a big pet. I would have to assume you never raid or shrink for that matter if a large pet doesn't bother you. I don't think either one of you handled the situation very well to be honest.

I always double shrink myself for the targetting reason. If I get a snare resist and I need to run to get room to re-attempt a snare I dont want to turn around and try moving sideways to get around his big ass.
If your used to big it really doesnt matter. However, in an effort to get along in group situations if someone request it of you there is no benifit to having a large pet that I can think of so I would have shrunk him.

Also always double shrink on summoning.. I was very happy when they fixed suspended pets to remember this.
Doing 69.1s with an unshrunk pet, I can't see the mobs I am splitting once I am FD. Which is reason enough right there.
But, pretend you are not a lone wolf 100% of the time. Something huge parked next to the mob is a pain in the ass for the tank, rogue, etc.
But, honestly, just seeing around the sucker while I am FD is 200% of my reason.
Edit: Or, after rereading the thread, exactly what Zandramadass already said more clearly that I.

As for targeting never had a problem.
I am all about the keyboard so F1 F1 for pet and have my TAB key to cycle mobs.
All great replies. Thank you very much.
Shrink it twice and stop being a baby. ;p

Targeting should not be an issue, seeing what is around to target or stand or tag etc may be though.

Someone should suggest that "tiny companion" be places on all pet foci items /nods. It's easily a better argument then half the other stuff I see(and forward), and the precedent was set for it during POP.

A rare advantage of a large pet is that giant-sized pets have such ultralarge hitboxes, they can pound on bosses without getting hit by AE ramp in some cases.

Big pets are annoying. Mine is never unshrunk. I even shrink it when kiting so the damn thing doesn't block my line of sight.
I'd use a shadowman pet if they let us. B)

I can think of a couple places offhand where having a full-sized pet is better, but that's due to the little fucker getting stuck on geometry, even after dmf'ing him. I really haven't seen any other places where this is the case since like PoP (low tier planes), so general rule of thumb is to just shrink the windbag.

I remember that way back when I was soloing outside the Temple in Nadox. My stupid shrunk pet would get stuck on those rock-shelf-type "steps" outside. <_<

I always auto-shrink my pet when I summon right off the bat. It just looks so clunky and bad not shrunk. I also do it so when ur fighting that you just don't see is pet and not whats goin on(group situations mostly). I hate it when other nec's and other pet classes don't have their pets shrink, its just makes the screen all cluttered.
Its especially annoying in dungeon crawls. Was in SplitPaw(with my monk) with a group, and couple pet classes had their pets full size. I thought to myself, what the F'k no consideration. So, I made them shrink pets,it don't take that long. I have Tiny companion spell, next to pet spells so I know where its at and easy to get too. When I mem a pet I also mem TC same time.

If I am soloing, I will shrink the pet once if it's a Warrior pet, or not at all if Rogue. That way I can tell how careful I need to be about it's health at a glance. I also don't like to double shrink my pet if I can help it as it gets hard to see then.
On raids, I double shrink, as people complain about pets enough on raids, I don't need to add another thing for them to complain about.
In groups it's usually single shrunk, so all can see around it and so It's large enough for me to see it running off into the far blue yonder after the mob from 4 pulls ago.
It's not worth it fighting over, or loosing a group for. Personally, though, I think that SK was a bit of the behind of a horse (or other animal) since you met his issue with your own solution that would have done as well as his. /shrug

Leaving a group over it like the SK did is pretty lame, though coming back with "then I won't just send him in" is kind of snappy as well. ;)

Much more likely to get Symbol of Ancient Summoning (http://lucy.allakhazam.com/item.html?id=20508) in potime than any drop from farming powater.
