Greetings.
First time poster as a Necro; however, I've pretty much played every class, minus Pally and Zerk.
Most of my EQ Life has been spent as a Wizard/Enchanter.
I recently decided to take up Necroing because I felt I would be a natural Necro and love the blend of power and versitility that a Necro brings to the table.
Enough of my intro.
With the recent change of hot zones, I decided to take my Iksar Nec into LGuk.
My progression was
1-14 FoB
14-26ish I stayed in Kurns because the XP is insane even with out it being a hot zone. However, with the zone being a hot zone, I was getting some INSANE xp even off of light blues. It was hard to want to leave this zone.
26- (currently lvl 39) I went to LGuk at about lvl 26. Now, realize, I am very well equipped. Nevertheless, with undead slow and nukes, I have pretty much tap tanked my way to lvl 39.
At first, I stayed near the ZI pulling the first mobs before the bedroom, then using IU to run into the room before the bats. after clearing the bedroom and bat room, I would use Undead Pac to single pull the Icebones. Eventually, this area went blue and the XP slowed down, so, I have moved deeper. I progressed to clearing EXE and the Scribe room. When these mobs all went blue, I moved deeper in clearing the Cav room to the slave room and the initial mobs in the bedrooms prior to Frenzy. These mobs, even at lvl 39 are still yellow, white and a healthy mix of high blues. With this being a hot zone and most of the mob being undead, it is a necro heaven. Xp is around 3-5% a kill.
Tips:
Bring healing potions. Bring DS potions. They stack with your innate DS. Use your undead pac often for single pulls. Use undead slow. The undead mostly run in this zone, with the exception of the Icebones so, be sure to keep them snared. Lastly, the Undead nukes pretty much own up in here, so, keep that loaded as well.
Typically, I single pull with slow, drop the highest DPS dot on the mob, snare it, then undead nuke, mixed with taps to insure your HPs stay at a healthy level, while allowing the pet to hit the mob from behind.
Enjoy.
