It's a direct damage nuke for the amount of your current hitpoints +250/tick lifeburn recourse (dot that heals you) for 6 rounds, for most raid orientated necros it's a must have, but if you don't raid, it may not be worth the aa, initially.... neither is dc imo but ohh well.

Lifeburn is very nice if you're more raid oriented. Calling it, before using it, is recommended unless you like clerics yelling at you. The 2h24m refresh kinda blows, but /shrug, I still love the ability. :D

Also, most raids require that pet classes have Pet Discipline if they wish to use their pets for added DPS (There's something not quite right with the raid leader if they do not require this ability). I've been in pickup raids that have wiped because Pet Discipline was not required... well, there were other factors, but they would have been non-issues if the pet classes would have kept their pets under control.

Since I'm, for the most part, tailoring my AA progression in such a fashion as to be more of a benefit for the guild as a whole, I see little need for DC at this time. Maybe, at some point, if I have 9 unspent AA just burning a hole in my pocket, and cannot find something better to put them in (doubt that'll happen for quite a while), I'll go ahead and purchase that ability. Dire Charm has it's uses, I'll agree with that. But, since we're limited to undead only mobs, the point of it's usefulness to me (especially considering some of the places I solo at) is essentially moot.

ok another thing i was wondering was do you lose hit points at all when you life burn or no? like go to 1hp and what ever dmg you take is what they take? somthing a friend told me so i wanted to verify? thanks for all your help.

you do take damge from casting this, I am not sure the exact amount but when I used it with about 4500 HP's, it droped me down to about 15%, high enough that i didn't have low HP aggro but low enough to scare to healers in your raid group, Like was metioned before, make sure to call that you are lifeburning so the healers don't have a heart attack  . One other thing about this is that it will do damage EQUAL to your current health, so if your max it 5K hp's and you at 50% health(2500 hps) it will only do 2500 damage.

I go from 7881 to about 1900hps, for reference. It's ALOT of lifetapping afterwards....

Doesn't that usually draw aggro? Do you have to FD immediately?

This isn't a spell that you wanna cast immediately after engaging a mob, because you will get aggro this way. I usually use this aa when the mob is around 20-25% life, that way the main tank has already well established aggro. Also, as mentioned above, the recast time is fairly long, but at 20-25% I know the raid isn't in much danger of wiping and wasting my Lifeburn, and there is still enough time to get the full effect of the spell recourse.

Lifeburn really is quite low aggro, and it's free dmg well worth the expense imo. direcharm on the other hand sucks donkey dick for beer money.
