Just signed up today so wanted to say hi.
With the amount of buffs we can give our pets (as well as other pet classes) what about a new spell bar just for pet buffs. I find I spend so long swopping out spells to buff my pet, that when they wear off I can not be botherd to rebuff him (apart from haste that is) would be nice to be able to buff as and when needed without the pain of rememming spells.
Anyone find this a problem or is it just me being lazy?

This was something that was suggested to the devs in tss beta. There was a lot of discussion and it got no reply from devs iiirc. There were some positions that it would be overpowered, but folks on both sides of the argument made some convincing proposals.
One proposed idea was to introduce a secondary spell bar with 5-7 slots that were reserved for beneficial buff type spells, rather than a second full spell bar.
I really liked that idea in particular.
Hopefully someday devs will figure out how to make pets viable. If they do, it would be great to have the buff bar available so that our pet spells could actually be utilized.
Not in a million years. It cost 9AAs to buy one spell slot. I think it would too overpowering to have so many spells available. Then goes the bickering over what is beneficial and whats not. IMO part of the game is taking time to load spells. Clickies were introduced to alleviate our spell panel.

Ecol, just curious, what do you find overpowering?
And why?
A second bar for buffs seems reasonable to me. Especially so if it was restricted to pet buffs as the op requested.
Just cuz isnt much of an argument.

I for one did not use my 9th spell gem to keep pet haste loaded, and I'm fairly certain necro DPS balance was re-tuned with the idea of us keeping loaded & constantly using 9 damage spells.
The other 2 pet classes have no problems whatsoever keeping their pet fully buffed because they can accomplish the entirety of their core class job with at most 5 gems loaded. The extra 4 gems are gravy - used in whatever fashion the current scenerio would benefit most from. You probably can't find a magician who doesn't keep at least 3 pet spells memmed at all times.
A large part of necro pet woes stems from us being unwilling to keep our pet fully buffed to our capacity- unlike magicians and beastlords. If our pets had perma spec guard, calliav and haste they would probably gain more of our respect and definately add to their survivability. It's not a matter of mana expense for these buffs - it's the recast/reload times on the spells that require dedicated gems in order to use them.
I would gladly buy extra pet-only buff gems, at least 1 or 2. I can't see this even being attractive for bst/mag.

i like the idea. i usualy dont even bother buffing my pet anymore, cause the ui i used to use did show pet buffs on the pet window, and i couldnt get any other pet windows to wrok, and cant get into the habbit if it again =p. im sure i lose a fair amount of dps from that, granted its not that much, it would make a visible difference in my dps when kiting anyway.........
this could even add to our pet survivability. keeping him buffed with all the caliv stuff would help keep him alive quite a bit longer

/pet health or /pet buff returns what buffs your pet currently has, you can make a hotkey.

The only thing I have for my pet buffs is the haste buff. I have set up a sound warning when this runs out as I am normally kiting and not really looking at my pet buffs. This has helped me no end as it's the only pet buff gem I keep up all the time. As for the other buffs, it just takes to long to set up the gems, buff and then setup the gems again. Been intresting on seeing other peoples point of view.
