Ok, I've got a tricky question for all my necro friends out there.
We all know, or should, how sacrifice works. We cast the spell on a 46-60 level character, that person loses the regular xp, they can't be rezzed to get the xp back, they don't lose AA xp, and you get an essence emerald.
There all nice and easy. Right? Well.....
Here's my scenario.
You sac someone say around level 57. The have all of there 1st Tier AA's and some of their 2nd Tier AA's. You sac them down to level 52. Do the AA's they've earned past 55, the 2nd Tier ones, still work? Or do they no longer function until they re-level to 55?
I'm hoping someone knows the answer to this as I've got some guildmates volunteering to let me sac some of their alts for free.
Thanks.
Good hunting.
Jos.

As to working, no. They are contingent on Level requirements. They won't lose them, they'll just be grayed out. Very similar to new spells and then de-leveling.
Good Luck on the sacs.....

I honestly do not know the answer to this, but I can make a pretty good assumption...
When I played my warrior and I got dual wield, I was excited, I went some practice points into it, then when I went back to fight, I lost the level, and with that the ability to use dual wield... until I releved.
It would make sense that AA's would work the same. If you loose your level and are no longer able to meet the requirements to have the skill, then you would loose it... until you releveled and met the requirements...
If someone finds something concrete on this, let me know... I am curious to see if EQ did things the logical way for once.

Whispers is right... they will still be there but won't work.
It's like when you get lvl 60... you scribe spells... you then think you're Innoruuk and get owned by 50 mobs on your horrible pull... you lose your level... the spells remain in your book, however you cannot mem them. Axp's work the same way.

I have seen a warrior who said he brought himself down to level 46 to XP with a friend unleash a critical blast when his weapon proc'd. Isn't that's comming from the 61st AA Ingenuity? Do Warriors have an innate chance to crit on procs?

Young necro, I'm sure what your referring to is a Critical Blow that just happened to coincide with a proc. Proc's are predetermined as to amount of damage they will do; Some procs run on a fixed damage, or a Variable damage scale. But they never "critical proc"...

A friend of mine has done this to his Shamman and his Shammans (as has already been said) AA skills just get greyed out and are not able to be used until you reach that level again, but you don't lose them. Hope this helps reaffirm.

Thank you all for the info. This is a great board and I enjoy the feedback we all give each other. The "other" necro board seems to just flame a lot. heh
Good hunting.

Incorrect. As pointed out earlier, the melee AA "Ingenuity" allows a chance for a proc to deliver a critical blast.
Most innate AA abilities function if you've lost your level. In fact, Ingenuity requires lev 61 to purchase, and functioned for my monk even when I was 3 rezzes down and level 60 again. My guild had a formerly 60+ Master mage decide he hated the endgame and deleveled down to his 20s. Still had Master title, still had crits, he said he still had better mana savings than before.
AFAIK, it's just the ones you need to activate that don't work.

I am very sure it was "unleashes a critical blast(###)" just like when a wizard crits on a spell. It was during an LDoN adventure and everyone started asking how he did that. That's when I found out he knocked himself down and that he had that AA.

Wow, Critical Proc would be cool. I never heard of that before. (boggled).....

Yeah, it's awesome. I got it so my monk could get crits on her lifetap augs. VERY handy.
Ingenuity seems to have the same mechanics as our Fury AA, I believe. I know that with Fury my shaman crits with her Soulstripper (free mana, gotta love it).
