I'm level 72 with about half my TSS non-raid armor and 48 aa's. So far, it's been my experience that until you have all the highest end TSS raid armors and 800+ aa's, don't even zone into the TBS zones. You will die. I want my money back from Sony. TBS = impossibly hard expansion for the non-raider.

I'm havin a blast in TBS, and I am in no way what one would consider a raider. I've been camping out in Atikii this last week, killing just about anything, and getting sick xp off them mobs. I've gotten lots of the gear that drops in that zone for me and guildies. There are also a number of kite-able pirate missions, making it easy to get gear and spells from those faction vendors. I figure once I get the upgrades from those guys, I'll be ready to start tackling the Combine Merchant missions. I know there are many who are already doing (I believe it's) Fate of the Combine Empire mission, and getting there orum and faction there, but I can't quite get the hang of that one to be able to be effeicient with it yet. But so far, TBS has been my favorite expansion, beating out DoD with no trouble. Just try spending some time going thru the board here and you will find that TBS is very friendly to us, casual and raider. I started TBS with 120 AA, and I am now just under 200. I am level 70, and expect I will have no trouble getting to 75 in it's zones.

Sorry you are having such a rough time in TBS. My experience so far has been exclusively doing herb & slayer solo tasks in katta, and I found it to be insanely awesome. I was entirely bazaar & DoN Merchant geared, and I did not just waltz in and own the joint - I started off killing 2 mobs before having to OOC to full.

Don't give up on TBS - you certainly don't need to be uber to enjoy it, maybe some more aa to gain efficiency to your liking? Are you running tribute for any missing focus & health? Using health potions or the duskmold? More potions for celestial heals? Timing your snare?

It is very true death lurks around every corner, and quickly-for all classes. It's just something I have came to expect, and plan accordingly by binding often, keeping lots of EE's, etc. I'm on dial-up - if I don't lag die at least every 3 hours of play (or within 10 minutes of clicking lesson) I go buy a lotto ticket. Being a necro makes this tolerable.

Yesterday I hd my necro solo a little over half of level 66 at the herb garden in Katta Castrum. Yes, it did take medding after each mob. No, I didn't ding 67 on them. Instead, after taking a break and finding that spot camped by someone else, I joined a guildie beastlord who has a druid bot and we took several hours to do a Knowledge for Power mission. Sure, I died several times, but thats what the lobby clerics are for (you know the ones, the guys who have nothng better to do so they sit in the lobby rezzing people) - and when I was done even with the exp lost after rezzes, I dinged 67 on the final mob in the mission.

TBS for ubers only? Does http://eq.magelo.com/profile/985193 look uber to you? roflmao

Try working The barren coast,or instanced and non instanced monkey rock. You may have to explore a bit to find a spot that works for you,but the mobs are lower lvl in these areas. Aggro kiting is your best bet for hunting these.

I went to Katta and did the herb/slayer missions. Started at 30% xp into level 70. I'm now 98% into 70, am indifferent to the merchants. I only have 20 or so aa's, and once I hit 71, I'm going to be pounding these out hard core. You can get 18% aaxp per kill with lesson...and once you get the hang of it, it really isn't that bad. I haven't tried any of the other missions, but with the herb/slayer...if you get tired of kiting, there is usually a group there or another person that you can team up with. I found another necro at this camp and we duo'd it and got a lot of xp.

...and it gets better too. 12.5%aa per kill non-lesson, 4-kill dings with lesson at 75. Hard to believe, but true. So don't feel you need to stop pre-75 to maximize aa gains there.

The only reason I am stopping at 71 is so I can get some TSS armor and whatnot, but also because I need aa's badly and I won't be able to survive too long on larger content with my current stats.
