I had a question regarding the Critical Affliction line. I did some searches and read that with Improved Critical Affliction maxed, its 18% chance to crit.

This sounds great. But I was kind of hoping for a breakdown in percentage per rank. For exampled CA1 = 2%, CA2, = 4%, et cetera. As it stands right now, I’ve had CA3 for some time now, and I just got ICA1 last night. I was just curious. I’ve heard its diminishing returns. I remember someone saying that the CA mastery line only gave 1% per rank.

At any rate, just curious if anyone had a breakdown. Thanks.

Since I only have CA3, I'm no expert, but other AAs which do not specifically show percentages in their descriptions, have a tendancy to be very minor upgrades at the first 2 levels with a signifigant upgrade with the 3rd.

I recall seeing very few crits with the first 2 levels of CA, but they are quite common with CA3.

Hmm...where did you get that Xis? That's 2% Off from what I calculated based on other info (from here I believe) for my current aa's/gear (all buyable crit aa's + 2.0, no DoN aa).

I thought 2.0 was 10% and 2.5 was 12%... but that is just hearsay no documentation to support it. Course it could explain Lash's 2% difference...

Shadow Whisper (http://lucy.allakhazam.com/spell.html?id=6258)
1: Critical DoT(4)

Dark Whisper (http://lucy.allakhazam.com/spell.html?id=6290)
1: Critical DoT(8)

Empowerment of Shadows (http://lucy.allakhazam.com/spell.html?id=7859)
1: Critical DoT(10)

I got most of the numbers from Samanna which is pretty accurate, and I believe that Greater Blood Tithe is only 1%/tier.

I've not done extensive parsing lately due to other issues with critting that can muddy the numbers. I may go back and and write a sneakier parse to make sure I disinclude all other sources, but until it's roughly accurate.

I thought CA was only 3% per tier, Samanna says 3/3/4. And the DoN AA may be 4% instead of 3% as Samanna claims. ICA may be 3% per tier instead of 2% too.

No we are in agreement about the epic focus :D

Sounds like I found a conflicting source for the other aa's though.

Heh, see I told you just hearsay.... wouldnt it just be simpler if they would put the % gained in the actual AA description online anyway.... its not like people dont parse that shit anyway. Why hide it in the first place?

Everything I have read about DoN was 3% but again no official SoE post... thought ICA was 3% myself and later lines started dropping off.

Probably because it would hold them to a certain specification...sounds good anyway

Ahh yes accountability and the desire to avoid it...

Anyone else notice they accidentally added three more ranks of crit dots when they consolidated the AA lines?
