Doesnt it really bug the shit out of someone when a person posts their magelo and then asks us to look and recommend an upgrade? Im level 39 and right now my armor is so poor I have level 20 Necs laughing in my face.. My hps run about 650 Unbuffed, Ac at 220 unbuffed and my mana pool barely touches 1500... Yet I see some Ignorant bitches out here with a twniked Nec asking for MORE damn upgrades... SHADOWTHORNE DARKBANE, IM LOOKING YOUR WAY!

I mean hell, the guy is running 1300+ hps, a good amount of AC, a 3000+ mana pool AND asking for recommended upgrades. Godammit some people need to learn to be freaking humble. Sure, If you got the cash twink your damn Nec but dont be fucking ignorant and brag about it. Id say I have pretty god gear and I had to BUY all of that from all I earnt soloing. In fact, I couldnt even buy my level 29 spells till I was 33 because I was so damn broke from upgrading.

It really makes me sick when these people beg for attention. If thats what you want, go strut around in front of a 400+ quadding mob without a group or your damn pet, THEN ytoull get some attention. But know your damn limit and be humble. My 2 cents worth. My first character, which my necro isn't, was wearing studded leather and damn proud of it till about level 20. My second one, caster type, was wearing another POS robe until I think I got a +2 INT one around 15 or so.

When I made up my necro I twinked him as much as I could and I continue to do so. However, I have called on advice in the past as I was learning what a necro needed and how different items would help. I went INT and regen in the beginning not knowing that INT isn't as valuable as HP for a necro after about 200 INT.

Yes, I've seen some posts that just want to brag but those are the ones that get little or no response. It's pretty obvious really.

I know this is the rant room but I just try to ignore board trolls as much as I can and don't give them the benefit of a response. I would hate for this board to turn into some of the other Necro boards that ONLY seem to trash talk these days and you have to wade through it all to get any useful information.

Was in EQ and hunting in DL, a 44 Nec joined our group of 5 and he had some massive gear on him, said ti was worth 150k+ ... Was so damn twinked It got me pissed. Then while running through my hometown, I see a level 1 decked out with better gear than me...

I guess I lost it then and just needed to vent a bit. By the looks of it, Ive hurt someones feelings.. Oh well, evil's evil.

Lol, well it was probably closer to 150K back then, but I just noticed that he says his server in his sig. But in regards to my gear, Vinu is my main and is only 53. The reason why I can have 400k+ in gear is because I play the bazaar very well and I play it more than I play my main. In this respect, I am kind of a twink, but I also kind of feel like I legitamitly earned my gear through countless hours of hard work.

yeah so when i joined my guild at first i had a full set of netted kelp, batskull earrings, some cheapass lil 8int 45mana rings, and a bitch ass 2hb staff, that was all when i was lvl 65 too mind you, id guess i had near 3000 mana unbuffed... at lvl 65... but now this is my newer gear... id say its half decent for almost being sol ro flagged...

Stupid question here but what is definition of a twink? My first character was at velious expansion and before level 45 I had 150k easily probably more. Just buying selling in nfp. What is wrong with having good gear and money if you work for it. Well any responses will probably be bad so least in flame forum alrdy lol) This character btw I dressed out by farming some plat then selling EE and buying selling items in bazaar with haggling and being gone for year and a half or so I didn't know what was good new items is why I posted asking for help on gear so not like i was trying to flaunt my cash I am always more then willing to lend suggestions on how to make cash and everything else so not like i was trying to be stuck up assclown or nothing . I say who cares who is twinked, ebayed or whatever?? I personally started from scratch again after comming back to eq after a year away and giving my account to a friend. Funny I never thought I'd return after playing Shadowbane, btw whata piece of shit game that is pvp or no. Anyhow I leveled from 1-51and 3aa with minimal help from some RL friends on the Brell server. I got lucky enough to come back during this fabled event time and got some of that gear on my necro, anyways I earned it just like our friend Shadowthorne did. Bottom line if you been playing a while gear will come your way, fuck at 39th I think I was still wearing a 30pp crystalline robe i was lucky enough to afford from the bazaar, and some polished bone braclets (which I still have btw) I got from those EE in the gorge. The one thing my RL friends gave me was the slippers of dark mana and about 200pp. Anyways I would have leveled up in cloth if thats what I could afford but i'd never bag on anyone who has put the time and afford into eq and has earned their gear.

After reading over the posts on this thread, all I can say is get over it. I remember having friends picking up the game in 99 and thinking what a lame ass game. Well I finally!! get around to picking up EQ myself for the holidays in 2003 and guess what the game was fustrating as hell to learn alone, and yeah I chose it that way too. Yet every victory has been worthwhile. Each level is one I cherished. When all your buds are now 5 years old and 65s with AAs to back it up and your no name jobber with jack shit to start out with it can be daunting to get started at this stage in the game. Early on it meant doing lousy newbie quests no one does anymore and putting up with all sorts of /OOC taunts about what a loser you were for even bothering. But I learned to move on...... When I was doing old school zones and there wasnt another soul in sight for days on end I kept at it. When I hit my 20s and started LDoN and got laughed at for having a character still wearing some arbitor initiate gear! I took it in stride. I still soloed a lot cause most LDoN players are fucking morons. Pull those shitty tactics out in the Planes with 6 player group and your assured a wipe. Now almost 6 months later and less than avg playing time I got a level 57 necromancer with ok gear and a solid background of what my class can do and CANT do. I still solo but group more often now cause I got a good guild and some great friends. Let me clue you in on something else If you spend a lot of time bitching about what the other person has and not looking on how you can improve yourself your never going to get anywhere. Gear don't make the character you do. Right now buck ass naked with one bone chip for a pet, I can solo a treant in PoN and survive. The same mob can wipe a group and use their twink gear for Xmas ornaments. Want proof, just go to PoD or PoN for an afternoon if you can get there and sit for just a couple of hours at the GY or near a favorite camp and smoke a cigarrette for every time a group fucks up and wipes. Thank You LDoN for teaching all classes to act like warriors. On a good day I can smoke half a pack in an afternoon and on a bad one lets just say the Haiji Ramas @ 7-11 love me. For sure the gear helps some but in the end its what you as a player can make for yourself. A lot of the same people that laughed at my ass when I started are still playing the same shitty characters and bitching about how they can't get outta their 30's. Half of em got gear that would make some of us consider chopping off the left nut just for the chance to own it (not me anyways). Whose laughing now motherfuckers? And for all you bitchers and moaners. Here is a copper piece.... go buy yourselves a fucking clue.

I suppose it wasnt meant to be a bitching rant when I started, but it probably ended that way. The original idea I was trying to express was that who cares what the other guy has or how he got it. Ultimately it is up to the player to determine the fate of his character. No gear or guild or IRL friends lobbing support at you will change what you can do for that character. The help and gear of course are as always to be appreciated but as a rule one should never count on 'em entirely
