Im 75, 200 AAs
I'll be powerleveling a 61 bard. Where would be the best place for normal xp grinding? And for AA xp?
Is icefall viable, or should I kill lower level mobs..? Also my sisters 69 druid might help.
Any suggestions welcome... thank ya.

icefall is good for both you and your bard
and someone said Jewel of Atiiki is also good xp too, also a bonus that you can camp your pet illusion item or spectre illusion mask

The other evening I invited a freshly dinged 61 guildie to join me in icefall at the elder wolf camp. In just under 4 hours time I got 12 aa (surprised that my xp hit wasn't so bad) while he finished up 2 blues into 63. Our kill rate was not optimal - there were two named up when we arrived & by the time we were done - all 3 named had popped and were blocking xp pulls so we ganked quite a few bears also. That should give you an idea of icefall potential.

Ive always been a fan of 69.1 from 60-65, then the nest from 65+...
1) its stupid easy and quick kills
2) no one will already be at the camp, train you, or do some other stupid shit that is greatly annoying
3) some decent zonewide drops/rewards that most powerleveled toons can put to use. plus MDSs and GDHs to make you feel like youre getting something in return, aside from an IOU
I guess I just like places where no one will bother me, thats number one on my list for "good" kite spots

I suspect kiss those MDS, CSS and GDHs goodbye soonish with tailoring smithing cultural revamp due very soon. 70+ definitly head to TSS zones roots are nice in DW. I find them free often and they drop level 72 rk2 spells. I usually pull 3-4 AAs with lessons in 1/2 hr there. Even managed 5AAs once there nice place. Just watchout for the big guy but he is easy to pull around.
Bard can just sit back enjoy the XP rolling in.

meh I thought cultural revamp was going live with SOF which is a couple months off yet (nfc tbh). I just sold 6 MDSs last week for some 210k.. not a bad bonus for a couple lesson burns for my bot. maybe need is different on stromm /shrug
Root camp is very nice if that raid mob has been killed, otherwise its too much waiting for him to path imo

thanks for the suggestions...
Scrat, i tried those wolves. It wasn't as fast as you mentioned, but then again I suck at necro. Its not my main char.
The spider camp is always taken or id try that too for spells.

well, i thought the patch for cultural was only for the armor, not the augs ...

What am I doing wrong?
Lineup
Coruscating Darkness
Vakdras Sickly Mists
Severans Rot
Ashengate Pyre
Curse of Mortality
Repeat ashengate, Vakdras Sickly Mists, Curse of Mortality etc etc.
If Corsuc. is 2 minutes, then I'm killing each icefall spider within 2-2.5 minutes.
The AA exp is good for me, and I cant complain about the bards EXP rate but it doesnt seem on par with what you guys have stated.
About 3 hours, i got 4 AAs and bard got 3/4 of a level into 62
Ugh?
Obviously gear and aa's play a major role in your kill rate also. Hard to say anything without seeing your magelo.
Scrat has around 1200 aa's while you have 200 too.

Yeah definately.
Truth is, the necro is my sister's character and Im pretty sure its spellbook is lacking. Not many Rk 2s, etc...
I'll try to get magelo goin.
What confused me is the staff on the necro is Staff of frozen flame (http://lucy.allakhazam.com/item.html?id=53719&setcookie=1)
I know ashengate pyre benefits from this.. but its probably not the best choice for necro?

It's not a bad choice for a casual. If I didn't have my 1.5 I would still be using it. Sothgar's rage is up to +35% to fire. Without knowing for sure I would suspect your AAs. At 200 AAs, it is likely you don't have all your DoT crit AAs, GoM/GoRM and mana conservation AAs (SCM series, secondary forte, etc). All these things help a lot.

Darkroot's in Direwind in front of the shroom cave. Similar to spiders camp but less room, but still easy enough.
Down side:
Very fast if snare misses. Unless you have decent equipment and can take 2-3k a round of damage you need to FD immediately. No out running them to make space for FD.
They cast a poison dot that is a real pain. Lands often even with 560+ resist. Depending on gear and regen will need to tap back life.
Wintersting paths up to the kite area. Doesn't aggro the kite area, but when he paths up there you need to stop pulling. Usually not a big deal if lom, but sucks when your fm waiting for him to path away.
Shroom are more pain then they are worth IMHO.

I Have 250+AAs. You are at right around where I am in speed of the kill. Don't sweat it, it just takes time to get those AAs and become more powerful.
I'm just finally starting to feel like a level 75 necro, lol, after getting planar power 12. Tonight, I hope to get blood tithe 3 ( finally).

This advice might be ignorable as it might not pertain to your situation but If you dont mind not getting xp and want the bard to catch up (IE a friend, or an alt or a guildie) One of the fastest ways I found I could safely PL is to find a zone with
1) Open kiteable area with no trains at zone line
2) Run when low on life Mobs.
Now the most important part about this is you do NOT want kill shot.
Use Dots that end at 30-50% life of target. Use pet and Lifetaps at low life and when mob turns and runs send Bard in with selo's snare, Tank down with bard.
ZONE OUT NECRO BEFORE MOB DIES.
Bard gets full kill xp, only does about 8-10%dmg at most.
If you want xp for necro this is definetly not the way to go.
But this will level your bard stupid quick and you could essentially power level him to your lvl, will just take longer to widdle down the last 8-10% of life the closer you get.
Edit - If you can get a cleric or healer, You can use any mob, at 10-15% root mob and zone out necro. Use Spikes and RS spikes for even faster death. heal when needed. Rinse repeat. Hell now that I think of it You could Pl a whole freaking Group of lowbies using this tactic.

In addition to my 77 necro main, I have a 55 shammy that I box with my 57 warrior (same account as my necro). I have been PLing the shammy some early AAs in NC using the following method:
Sit the shammy on a mount in the trench by the DS or WoS zonelines.
Pull murkgliders (single) to the shammy.
Cast:
1) Dread Pyre
2) Corath Venom
3) Darkness
Mobs flee from my necro around 20%. Usually CV and DP wear off with the mob around 14%. I malosi, Venom of the Snake, Envenomed Bolt, then chain nuke with the shammy. Nec FDs just before the first nuke hits. As long as the murk is around 10% or lower, he will still be in flee mode. Mob dies, shammy gets xp.
This all depends on the shammy doing more damage than my necro between the time that the necro FDs and the mob dies, hence me getting two dots on the mob, then chain nuking.
I use NC because a) it is a hotzone b) all of the murks are red cons (some just barely) to the shammy and c) I can kill really fast. The shammy was getting around 18-20% AA per kill w/o lesson.
DP will sometimes crit too much and kill the murk, so I will switch out for Kedgefish for more consistency.
No need to zone out or anything, just be FD.
