Ok, after killing ad nauseum in icefall, I'm looking for new hunting grounds soon once I finally get my faction to do the staff of frozen flame. I tend to be about 1 expansion behind everyone because I'm gimp anyway, hehee.

how do you get to tbs? anyone have a guide about it? I've had it for about 2 months and have not been there yet. I know I need to do quests for faction, but I have no clue how to get there as it went live while I was akf on a break from eq.

Not a guide by any means but..

Take the pok book to paineel - you pop into Tox Forest. From the pok book here, you go nearly due east - there is a new tunnel on the zone wall leading to the zone The Baren Coast.

Baren Coast has lots of docks - you can wait for a boat (they are fast) and any will drop you in the zone The Buried Sea. Do travel invis, as roaming mobs in TBS zone can & will get close enough to the dock to aggro you. If you see a group of friendly NPC's wanting to give you quests - keep a lookout for roaming mobs. Always be on your guard - the mobs unsnared can catch my dial-up runspeed5 self.

In the Buried Sea, near the middle of the zone is this vast, giant whirlpool - which if you go down into it will drop you off in Katta Castrum. This entry spot is also the levant destination for katta. From within katta, you can access other zones such as atakki - but here is where my guide ends due to lack of precise detail / memory. I'd hate to mis-direct you to a swift death.

--or you can buy a katta port stone in guild hall, it drops you off inside the pyramid in katta very close to the "Herb Retrieval" quest giver.

guilod portal you can port dierctly to Katta Castrum, otherwise take teh Paineel Stoen in PoK and run east and a bit north till you find a tunnel. That tunnel will take ya to the Barren Coast. From there you can catcha boat to Burrried Sea, in Buried Sea is a giant whirlpool that leds to Katta Castrum.

awesome! Thanks. I only have about 3k in bank at the moment ( rez money, lol), so I'll probably do the run.

I spent most of my pp on some rank II spells that were cheap in baz.

If you can get the camp go to the greenhouse and work on two quests: Herbal Retrieval and The Shissar Slayer. Both quests are in Katta. The first is collect 4 different herbs and the 2nd is to kill 20 shissars.

The greenhouse is in the northern part of the zone and is a long hike to get there. The kiting can get a bit monotunous (sp), but they both help with merchant faction. It takes forever, but the spells and the armor are pretty nice for us casual types.

Get with me next time I'm on and I'll set you up and help with the tasks. The guild will also provide enough orum to purchase your first spell or amor piece once you have the faction.
