39 and still sluggish

I just got level 39 not too long ago. All my necro friends told me "39 is when a necro begins to shine" etc. etc. Well the exp isn't exactly flowing as I'd hoped it would at this level. I'm hopeing some of you could suggest ways, techniques, places, etc. to speed it up some?

So far I've tried soloing in Nurga (as per the guide here) and I got destroyed all 3 attempts. The EXP in DSP is retardedly slow. The EXP in Eastern Wastes (giants, orcs and Ulthorks) was slightly better but the teleporting mob issue seems to pwn that zone. The EXP for misc. mobs in OT wasn't much, if at all better than EW, and the Teleport issue is a big problem in OT as well (5, maybe 6 mobs TP per hour on me there). Gunthak beach was OK, but over camped on the Tunare server (at least the 4 times I've made the run out there to try it).

I'm not opposed to grouping... OK, yes I am, but I will do it if it's the fastest way to level. I will get a 60-ish drood to PL me if that's what works, I just want to get to the 50's ASAP.

So any suggestions you all might have on technique, or what I may be doing wrong, or where to hunt, what to do, even equipment upgrades, please, do tell.

Have you tried Crystal Caverns? Or OOT? Heard those are good for that level.

Have you tried doing the Lost Supplies quest in Gunthak yet? If you're not KOS in Erudin, you could turn in the drops from the zombies for good xp.

Check the "Hunting Grounds" pinned lists for more stuff like Spectres in Feerot, Frost Giants in GD, etc etc etc....

Gunthak beach, Combine city in DL, Lguk, Scarlet Desert, Crystal Caverns.

Tough to beat Gunthak for your level tho. Great exp, constant pulls, nice loot. You said the exp was OK, I'd hate to see your definition of great exp.

echo caverns echo caverns and echo caverns) love it there the underbulks by elevator are db to 39 as i recall will be find pulling them. there are two that will pull together so i nomrlay would cast snare on one and when it lands click the other one and send in pet with taunt and mage toys they work wonders here. Then just dot your snared one and try to dot up one pet is on should be fine. Fun place and good exp. May be mistaken on lvl huh will check allakhazams and repost if im wrong)

The Nurga hunting guide here and over on eqclasses is obsolete. The zone has been revamped, and the MOBs in the spots they refer to are now much higher-level than is noted in that guide.

You can hunt the entrance at lvl 39, but the MOBs will eat your pet, so you'll have to root-rot. At 44, your new pet and pact of shadow spell should let you hunt there pretty effectively with a pet tanking approach. That's especially true if you have a druid there pleveling you. I can get about 1.5 yellow per hour there at 46 with a similar setup, lvl 56 druid pulling with ensnare and providing regen, dmg shield, skin buff, and resist buffs since there are a lot of casters.

Geonids in crystal caverns will take you a long way, good exp, and great loot (gems)

Lost Supplies quest (the drop is lore) is a nice side of what I was going to say: hit the beach in Gunthak. Use Shackle of Spirit and a few DoTs and you can pet tank your way non-stop to 42-43 (and none of the undead run.. yay!). Setup right by the Cleric Erudite spirit (for Temperance quest). There is a dead spot you can pull to.. safe.

Oh. And the Taskmaster's area in Echo. Fear kite your way to 50.

And the Dreadbones in the Dreadlands.. to 50ish.. fear kite, or slow and tank.

And, at 44 with your spiffy new pet, you can solo the easiest boat in Dulak (Stormwave).. fear kiting again.

I was saying the same thing at your lvl, until I went to echo caverns. as long as its not camped, that place is easy exp. I was getting a lvl every 2-3 hours.

Some mobs in Kaesora give bad OT faction if you care. Just an FYI.

Hehehehe, I understand where your coming from. you want to solo but it seems it's all wrong.
I found south karana; Infected paw. that was my answer, underpopulated. Teeming with blue mobs, XP modifier. Biggest one, I learned Dungeon Fighting.
At 39 I went deep in past the fish, to the jailers area, judges, and so on. killed the corner guy and took that as my camp. Killed them all before my camp mate reappeared, great xp bonus, only one in zone and it proved to me; i am capable...
