Thought it might be helpful for us to share where we're finding NEC loot thus far in SoF. Anyone care to share?

No kiddin. Prices in Baz for any SoF gear is outrageous on Quellious. It's the only thing I hate about new expansions. Not knowing where anything is or what it is I really want to do. Being in Beta allowed me to find some nice xp spots, but that's about it.

Seeing a lot of new gear in the bazaar that everybody wants a small fortune for on Stromm. Glossy Silk Robes http://lucy.allakhazam.com/item.html?id=100227, Gloves http://lucy.allakhazam.com/item.html?id=100222, etc. Looks nice, but way too much. Not sure if there is better stuff available through faction work like TBS.

I was told yesterday by someone with Ally Fangbreakers faction (Loping Plains) that they were able to get some Rk. 2 spells and an odd container item from Derak Fangbreaker as they factioned up. I have no idea what / how he charges for these rank 2s, or whether this is entirely accurate.
I'll confirm what is available from that merchant once I get higher Fangbreakers faction. If someone else gets it done it first, please let us know!
Ok, I really need to get back to working today...

what are people doing to gain fangbreakers faction? i did a bunch of missions and quests and i am still at dubious. i have these 5 were-orc claws that are probably combined in that weird container youre talking about, if only i could get my faction high enough to check...
pretty sure the glossy silk robe, and many of the other items that are selling for a bazillion plat, are from bloodmoon keep.

Ok I have some info to share.
There are some Tier I items dropping from Bloodbeak the named crow and also from the named scarecrow in the small scarecrow farm in Dragonscale Hills.
I believe both are melee/hybrid type items. Will add more detail later. Both named mobs summon (as I think all named in SoF summon), so group is necessary. Also might not be able to snare the named crow.

Glossy Silk robes drop from the named Jailor in the Bloodmoon Keep. He is right near the zone line and his placeholders are the jailors (any I guess). He was up when our group wandering into Bloodmoon last night, but I lost the roll to an Enchanter who I'm pretty sure bazaar'd them... Can't be sure of course.
The jailor drops all the chest pieces. I also saw the hat drop (leather) from a guy in the second hallway and a HTH weapon that was fairly gimpy but NO DROP (unlike most of the other stuff). I also saw a few Rk. 2 spells, including a few level 79 spells drop off random mobs.

Mad MX drops a Necro usable tier 1 earring, and there are a couple other Dragonscale named that drop necro ranged items. But all named in Dragonscale, are immune to changes in run speed and summon. So not soloable.

I hope all the anti-kite whiners in the Vet Lounge didn't end up finding a sympathetic ear. Hopefully there will be another Jewel of Atiiki-type place that just hasn't been found yet in SoF.
There is a ton of kite content in SoF, it just doesn't include named, which shouldn't be a surprise. TBS did have some nonsummoning named but most of the gear was from vendors rather than dropped.

Seems they did find that sympathetic ear sadly. I've yet to find a named that drops anything that wasn't immune to run speed changes AND a summoner. You'd think they could at least make it a challenge without making it completely anti-kiter. Like that turtle in TBS that cast that 7500dd proc...that was challenging, but doable. Give 'em a snare or some other nasty proc, something that doesn't just make you have to leave the camp you're at when a named spawns and you can't do a damn thing about it.
I've got a chanter friend that can take out any named he wants just by charming any npc next to it and completely destroying the named in 1/4th of the time it takes us to kite a similar mob with pretty much zero risk with their domination type AAs. I try to do that and charm doesn't hold long enough for me to even tell the mob to attack, unless my pet's tashed, but then if I have a chanter around to tash, why bother? Just let him do all the work in a much safer, easier way. I even dragged an undead mob a good ways across the zone in loping plains the other day just to try to charm it and sick it on the shadowmane totemcaller for fun. By the time I finally got the mob there, got charm to hold for more than one tick, and had a chance to tell it to attack...it didn't even move. It gave me the "attacking Shadowmane Totemcaller, master" message, then just sat there looking at me, heh.
I guess I'm just bummed about the content in this expansion, since I was really looking forward to being able to get some upgrades as a solo "hardcore casual" type of player, but so far it seems to get any decent gear, you really need to have a decent group to go in with. Hopefully I just haven't found the good spots yet, or am overlooking something though.
*edit* wow, that came out more long-winded than I thought, heh, sorry.

I don't get all the fussing about not being able to kite named. It's always been rare to non-existent to be able to kite named that dropped upgrades. The named at the 'farm' camp in Dragonscale pop very regularly and drop decent gear (255ish hp/mana). I think a necro might have a shot at soloing them but if not it's easy to find a partner there to keep the farm clear and share the loot.

Not wanting to have all the named kitable. Was just saying I hope there are the customary few that we usually get still hiding out there. Atiiki was great. It had a truckload of drops we could solo. Got lots of upgrades for guildies and myself out of there. TSS was great too. The bracers, that 1HB with a fire focus that was mostly (or if the player was good, completely) soloable, stuff like that. Hopefully we just haven't found those in SoF yet. The Anti-Kiters just piss me off. They are like those whiney bitches who go on and on about how "X" class is too powerful and needs to be nerfed, except these pissants can include half the player-base out there, any class that can't kite. They bitch and whine like a puppy just off the teet, and then laugh their asses off as they go grab a group, which is not something necros are known for.
Guess my wife and I need to get on the stick and get that cleric leveled for our tank.

I agree with Winchester wholeheartedly. I'm not looking for every named to be kitable at all. Just hoping that there are a few we haven't found yet that are, not just quest loot dropping named for faction quests.
I just wish they'd come up with some mechanic besides unsnarable/summoner to hinder soloing of it. Make the mob kitable, but make it cast a snare, blind, or a silence, maybe a huge knockback that could toss you into unfriendly territory, maybe make it spawn a few adds or even call other similar NPCs in a certain radius for help when it gets aggroed. These kind of things would be annoying as hell and damn tough to deal with, but it would be better than "oh, it's a named, it's unsnarable, and it summons, so I can't touch it."
