where to farm: Exquisite Spinneret Fluid

Before I move onto SoF, the spiders in icefall were dropping these - maybe 1 per 3 clearings, or around 25% the rate of exquisite silk.

Elder wolves, adult mammoths & adult bears drop exquisite animal pelts, porous loam. Icefall crawlers drop exquisite silk & exquisite spinneret fluid. They also drop (by the truckload) all the lesser TS components & JC augs.

It's very rare though, but it does drop. Still ~10-12% aa @ 80 also if you can stomach it.

It's a very rare drop - but I've even gotten it from the lizards at the Green house of all places! JI even gto a superb silk from them - they must like silk panties lol! Just farm an area and you'll get some unique tradeskill drops.

I have seen this drop from Tarnuk in Icefall, not sure about the frequency of the drop ..hope that helps.

I get them off the Spiders in Icefall and the Mature LakeSkaters in Valdeholm but they summon so nono kiting here. I get the Exquisite Spinneret Fluid drop about every 10-12 Exquisite Silk drop so they are pretty rare.

well Im new here but not new to the game by a long shot almost 8 year necro. The best place i have seen these exquisite spinnerette fluids drops are from the gnomes and minataurs " probabally spelled wrong" in gyrospire beza. best bet is to. make yor camp over by the houses up by the tower whatever you want to call it . Not actually inside " if your solo " Not much room to kite here so root and snare for the win. None summon silks gallore ore and loam all that just you know thats the rare. The gardentenders drop also and can spawn a named unsnareable and summons so bad idia to try. The Miny Juggernaut casts like a 5-8k DD so watch the hps. but i just root tap FD get up and re root " to stop it fom creeping foward ect. Hope this helps.

They have nerfed the drops of these it seems. It would appear that they only drop in Tier 3 zones now. MMM, S.H.I.P., Steam Factory, and also Crystallos. Also in Raid instances, AG, FC, and SoF raids as well.

its true no longer dropping there had a few top 20 necs message me on the server asking because they farmed it 50 + hours and nothing . I did happen to get two in Crystallos tonight tho and a morrow in Meldraths so yea just T-3 zones now sense last patch - Jarlax

For how good the cultural stuff is it only makes sense to limit the influx of those TS items.

Was a bug that they ever dropped outside those zones in the first place apprently.

I think this is true I used to get regular drops off of the minos at Fortress M now they drop but really really rarely, I went from like 5 pourous loam drops in a 3 day period to 0 in a 5 day period, same for silk,furs, etc =(

I guess I am gonna have to suck it up and move back to Gyrospire Beza and do the minos there probably be considered higher zone I hope.

Zeka is T3 but it currently doesn't drop porous loam/exquisite spinneret (no suitable npc's) so don't waste your time thinking it may drop (atm).

Steam, S.H.I.P, MMM, Crystallos are the only zones where they should still drop that and raid instances (FC/AG/Solteris/SoF raids).

Hmm...is there a list anywhere of what mob type is 'suitable' for which drops? I think a listing of what mob types are needed for particular ts drops that could be referenced against a list of which zones are suitable for which levels of those ts drops would be very useful.

VERY generic :

Humanoids can drop all kinds

Spiders drop silk (silks and spinneret fluids)

Animals drop leather (pelts and marrows)

Golems drop smithing (ores and loams)


Obviously there will be exceptions, but that is what to expect. A guild druid of mine was kiting animals on various islands in TBS looking for pelts for tailoring, without having much luck. I don't know if it was just the RNG, or if he was just in the wrong area, or if none of the animals in the zone drop leather tailoring supplies for him to skill up with.

not entirely i get pelts,silks,loam,fluid,and ore all fron drakes in crystallos and those are monsters or by god id be useing animal lifetap for some pretty crits 8p. Then you have the loam i got from the robot in meldraths . Honestly think its just random from the higher zones now - Jarlax

They should just make them uber rare instead of uber rare and inaccessible to 95% of the player base.

They have a 0.03% chance to drop in zones like the gyrospires.

...yet Ngreth also mentioned while zeka was technically tier3 & within the level 80 TS drop requirements - no NPC in the entire zone meets the requirement to actually drop the components. So zero TS drops from zeka.

A couple post from Ngerth explaining some drop rates:

I reajusted the rate yesterday, but it did not make it into the patch (it was after we had already pushed all the data to staging server)

If there is another LDoN day, they will go in early, or I may ask for it to be pushed early after QA has looked at it. I am looking at a few more possible adjustments before I send it to QA (include more "golem" races in the metal races)

***BUT***

Fortress Mechanotus is **NOT** the target zone for those drops. And because of it, it will be rare. on the table you were pulling from it has a 2.22 % chance to get a drop at all and THEN a 2% chance to be porus loam, 2% chance to be the 80 marrow and 4% chance to be the 80 spinnerette, This is BEFORE the changes I made (since we are speaking of the past)

I.E. RARE.

you have a better chance in another zone.

But in the end... this stuff will be rare anyway.

With this basic knowledge... I may go in and add steamworks to the "humanoid" table to give more chances for drops (and makes it include gyrospire zeka)

I did get an exquisite spinnerret drop in a Nest instance yesterday which was probably the needle in the hay stack:)
