Well, I'm back on my Necromancer unless I'm needed by my guild to heal. I became fairly burned out on my Druid recently and figured I'd dust off ye olde bad motherfucker for the expansion release.

I've had to come to terms with a couple of things about being a Necromancer. The first has to do with my guild making me raid leader and for some reason people listen to you more when you look as though you might eat them. Fun. I have a whole new respect for raid leaders now.

The second is that I am quite ghetto fabulous. My gear hasn't been updated since beating Inku'Ta was a big deal. My quest window has about twelve billion tasks open and my bank is filled with old BiC, etc that I never finished.

As of this writing, I have about 8k-ish hp, 10k-ish mana and 700 or so AA. We'll see how I can change things heading to 80.

I've already hit 76 in Jewel. A friend in my guild told me to come visit him in Fortress Mechanotus, which is probably the most fun I've had zoning in a while. I picked up the quest for the oil can charm and met an angry little gnome npc that wrecked my shit when I kited too close. Wee!

Anyway, I figured I saw a few "I just started a Necromancer" type journals. Maybe one for the returning player will help someone.

Goofed off in Fortress again and managed to finish up the first few sections of the oil can while I blew lesson. My connection is being bitchy, which makes kiting much more exciting--"Whoa, I timed out for half a minute. I wonder if I lived...?"

I need to remember to download maps; I keep hitting backspace as if magically a map will appear without me getting one.

Still no groups yet, althought I'm thinking of dragging my guild through the mission arcs.

I have a Bazu augment sitting in my bank and have no idea what focii to get. No fire focii is kicking my ass, but I know if I make one, I'll just win the Anguish earring or something similar.

I would use the bazu aug for det spell haste, I think the only one in coa is off omm. It will help alot while kiteing even though is degraded some.

Tribute for detrimental haste is superior. Speaking of tribute, all the good tribute items has vanished since SoF release; nobody farming old worlds anymore...I might actually be forced to go farm stuff myself /vomit.

I noticed that too. I will probably make a pass through Veksar to fix my tribute. I tributed some gimpy DoN cultural that was sitting on my trader but it doesn't last very long.

About halfway through 76 now; my work schedule makes it difficult to play as often as I'd like, but I'm happy with the progress so far.

I used tribute once, forgot to turn it off, that was the end of tribute for me.

Must be nice. I can tell within 4-5 spells cast if I forgot to activate http://lucy.allakhazam.com/spell.html?id=4035&source=Live

Last night I went with my guild to Bloodmoon Keep, which reminds me a whole lot of Veksar in terms of 'isolated' areas and undead/live combinations. I noticed while I was there that trash didn't summon, so I'll have to go back and poke around.

There seems to be a statless earring that drops from random mobs that when looted, starts a series of tasks that look to be progressive. Woo. I will post some info as I get it.

Less time to poke around today, but I was able to finish up two quests: Necklace of Warportal Fragments (http://lucy.allakhazam.com/item.html?id=53632) and Orb of Duskmold (http://lucy.allakhazam.com/item.html?id=53651). I love clickies!

While in Direwind with my Mage partner, we duoed Carrionmancer Marrowrot but it casts so much I can solo it.

In the mean time I'm hunting for a new earring, necklace and rings. I'm holding off on purchasing the new Dwervium Trio in case there are more 'adjustments' to crafted items...

"What robot?"
"Just, if you see the robot, leave it alone okay?"
"Why?"

At this point, I realize that learning about the guardian in Dragonscale Hills is a lot like when children learn about fire. You know it's going to happen no matter how many times you explain the idea of 'stove' so you get the baggie full of ice and try to hurry past it.

I end up draging some people to the cannon for rezzes, but we do eventually get everybody in my small, family guild up to Gyrospire Beza. I don't end up getting the documents for either of my characters, but the rest of the guild seems happy and excited to be well on our way to having our asses collectively handed to us in the Mansion. Now that we have the pull down, it should be no problem to key any stragglers.

//

Today I ended up screwing around in Fortress again (does it take anyone else 10 minutes to zone in? Every time I head to SoF, I try to think of things to do around the house while I zone, like dishes or laundry or I dunno, installing new siding), but died after I wandered too close to the oil fields for a task update and aggroed about a dozen mobs before I could feign. Hopefully it really is like riding a bike, and I'll get my sekrut agent senses back.

Yebbut forgetting to turn it OFF means that as you /trader it bleeds out, and you've effectively wasted gear.

Done this myself before. I always check tribute now at logoff as a matter of habit. Affliction Haste VI and Affliction Efficiency VI are both still pretty viable at 75. I have a 23% detri haste focus from gear, so I just opt for aff eff vi.

So I'm in Attiki camping the ring/hp aug from the named Jell-o and I'm having quite a bit of trouble dealing with the bug traps. I don't get the impression that there's a genuinely 'safe' area down here.

I'm 77 now and the new spells are decent. I have the 'easy' part of the MMM key finished. Hopefully I can get the Attiki augs in the next week or so and be finished with the zone.

Uuuhhhhhg. When it rains, it pours and all that shit. I hate RL sometimes...

Finally made it to amiable in Katta using the awesome guide in the hunting section. I broke down and bought an ice cream sammitch range slot thingy so I could have a fire focus again. Hopefully that'll give a boost to my kill rate.

Bug traps are still being bitches in Attiki, so no ring and aug for me yet. We'll see...

Hit 78 a couple of days ago and recently applied to a new guild that will start Ashengate/Frostcrypt soon, so now I actually have to care about those tasks. I can solo a couple of them and I'll likely post a write up of what I was able to complete alone when I'm finished.

I also have to get used to raiding again as the last time I did any real raiding, you had to work your alcohol tolerance to raid Anguish.

My gear is generally old and busted, but I seem to be able to kite in Beza/Zeka without too much trouble--my only death so far came from a warp, and later because I was arguing with some idiot in General about US/Canada interdependence. Lesson learned: General on Cazic is a slum.

safe spot last i knew was in room with the spinx at end of hall were he spawns. in that room u get a buff type thing that makes u non kos to everything u must stand a little in hallway though or mobs in room will assist and u cant kite u have to root rot the slime. bugs will ignore u though unless they have changed it in last 6 months.

Nevermind about kiting in Beza - WTF is that crap the minos cast? Some 9k garbage called Axe Throw, so back to Zeka with me.

I was goofing off in Direwind a couple of nights ago and noticed the roots seem to have a much larger DS. Shame, too - that was a good camp.

Actually I like Zeka over beza too, but it may just be my personality. Generally, people don't xp in Zeka, they use beza for that.

The only groups I see there are people hunting the MMM key document, or a group doing nameds on the roof. Either way the bottom part of the zone is generally empty.

The back part of the S.H.I.P. Workshop is a nice spot too, but most of them do the 7-8k dd's. The advantage there is that porous loams can drop there...rarely...

Finally got MMM keyed and I'm almost 79--another grind or two should do it!

Shhhhh dont let the secret out! I have never seen a 7-8k dd.... I get 5k'd almost every pull and then every time i get in range however. Probably made 2-3 mill pp here though... great camp.

MMM ent is pretty cool to root rot, especially duo with another necro. as long as you pull them behind the middle "cubby" you wont get adds.
