I was looking to start buying my lvl 60 spells and was wondering which were worth buying and which were best left behind. I was also wondering how is the damage on the level 59 pet ? how does it compare to the monk pet?

59 pet is well worth it if you can afford it. A long time ago, I believe Doomfir posted the difference between the pets. 60 Moves fast so if your broke and you can't afford EoT you can probably just skip it because LoZ is a hell of alot cheaper. As for the other 59 spells, YOU ABSOLUTELY MUST GET TOUCH OF NIGHT. Devouring darkness is nice but not necessary, fewer resists and a relatively fast cast time, much better than cascading. It is pretty fast acting though and due to the higher damage it outputs more aggro if your not looking into aggro kiting you should be ok with just using dooming as a snare.
At 60 Arch Lich, Death Peace and Funeral Pyre are a must, If you group alot, Zevfeers Theft of Vitae is nice to have as well.
You'll probably never use Banishment of Shadows or Enslave Death. I used Enslave once to charm a MoB to give him a Duplicate lore item so I could go bank the first one, but I'll probably never need it again otherwise. Banishment of Shadows seems cool, but it costs a Star Ruby so I've never even tried it.
Trucidation is am 1100 lifetap that uses an EE, no thank you. Mujaki (level 61) with ID4 and SCF3 can crit for 1300, no component.
GToZ is probably useful for those encounters where the MoB is High MR (i.e. Emp SSRA), but as though I've never seen this for sale and I've yet to try and research it, I don't have it and so I've never used it.
And that's my 2cp

Yeah, Funeral Pyre is extremely useful, Arch Lich is a small improvement over Demi Lich, but it is an improvement, and EoT is an improvement over the Monk pet if you're spending much time at 59 or 60. If you're not, then unless EoT is cheap just skip it and get LoZ at 61... think I paid about 800pp for my copy of EoT, so wasn't a big deal; and I've been 60 for a while due to raiding more than XP-ing.

Banishment of Shadows is a good spell... but, on your own you'll never need it. If you're in a raiding guild they might want you to have it, if so, have them pay for it =) Any respectable guild will repay for a spell that will be usefull to them later...
I'm not 60 yet, but IMO, all 60 spells minus Trucidation (worthless) are a must. BoS is the exception depending on if you're in a raid guild.
You will pay however... for the big 3 (Funeral Pyre, Zevfeers, Gangrenous Touch) you will pay 4-15k a spell. If you're in a raid guild though, you may be able to get them to drop... Chardok Royals and the Emporer in Ssra drop them.
Don't worry about the Ancient: Spells... Seduction of Saryrn tops Master of Death, and Touch of Mujaki is a fine replacement for Lifebane. But, again, if your guild raids Vulak you might get one to drop. Ancient Spells are NO DROP btw.
As far as EoT... I can't wait to get this pet! Not only the fact that it's a new pet, but it will be a higher level... I'm getting so tired of my pets missing 7 of 10 swings on PoP mobs, I'm hoping that the 59 pet hits a bit more often???

Before buying them try to research them. Spells i use areArch Lich, Death peace, Funeral Pyre and in case i am in a group i use Zevfeers Theft of Life. As for EoT... When i am using my pet to tank I still use 49 war pet. he seems to do better however EoT gives you a slightly higher damage output. If you are agro kiting or in a group setting EoT is definitely worth it.
